Joseph Thompson leaned sideways on the seat, looking at Jaylene Ziel, who was just across a dining table. Despite being not far apart, he felt the distance between them was somewhat unattainable.

She even thought that it seemed difficult for him to get any closer to her.

Jaylene wasn't familiar with Western Cuisine, nor did she like it very much, so even handling a knife and fork was a challenge. After fumbling for a while, she decided to simply chop her food and eat it like a child using a soup spoon.
