Kapitel 1: The Death Of A Legend

"...And that day will come!"

A sly grin broke out on the face of the old man, who was currently facing his last moments. He knew his voyage was over. The last thing that he could do was ignite the same spark Roger did in those brats, he'd kill to see the face of Sengoku at the moment, however, his vision was slowly fading with his blood loss.

Using the last of his strength, the old man sucked in the largest breath he could manage, just as Roger's, the face of his old rival, popped into his mind for the last time.

"THE ONE PIECE!... IS REAL!!"

'It's been a great voyage, my sons'

As his voice died out, the light slowly faded from the old man's eyes. It was the death of a legend, a pirate that stood toe-to-toe with the Pirate King himself, the strongest man in the world. As his sons cried out in grief, the old man in question, was facing something very weird indeed.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whitebeard slowly opened his eyes, much to his own confusion. He thought that he had died in his fight to save his son. Thinking that, his memories rushed back into his head. The way the brat had freed his son, only to have that bastard Akainu kill him in front of his eyes. His fists clenched and his teeth clattered against each other, his entire body waiting for the release of his anger. However, that release didn't come, instead, he let out a sigh, before lifting his head up and looking around.

He didn't know what he expected, but it certainly wasn't that. All around, as far as his eyes could see, was a plane of pure white. It gave off an almost holy feeling to it, as if there was nothing that could stain its existence. Even someone as unrepentantly unreligious as Whitebeard felt the aura, which led to some confusion on the man's part.

As he was looking around, cracks started to form in the air, eerily similar to his own Quake Quake fruit. Whitebeard immediately put up his guard and manoeuvred his body into a fighting stance, standing on guard.

After a minute or so of waiting, the figure stepped out of the crack and appeared clearly before the old man. It was a man of similar age to himself, with long white hair and a robe of identical colour draped over his shoulders. Though he was noticeably smaller than Whitebeard, he gave off an oppressive aura, similarly to that brat's Haki.

"There is no need to fret, my friend. I mean you no harm." (???)

Hearing this, Whitebeard dropped his arms slightly closer to the ground, though he didn't fully relax his guard.

"Where am I?" (Whitebeard)

Hearing this, the old man responded with a smile.

"It is rather difficult to explain where you are, my friend. You see, you are everywhere and nowhere at the same time. You have died, yet you still live, strange, isn't it?" (???)

Whitebeard only looked at the man with a slightly confused expression on his face, to which two chairs appeared out of nowhere, one noticably larger than the other. Noticing his confusion, the mysterious stranger continued.

"If you want me to explain it all, you will need to take a seat. It's going to take a while." (???)

After the old man sat down, Whitebeard followed, listening closely.

"At the start of the universe, there was nothing. Not nothing like there is here, but nothingness as an absolute. Yet out of this nothingness, came the Four Elders, beings of power so enourmous, they created existence itself through the residue of their strength. Of the four, there was Polinus, Uliastai, Freisor and Amar, each governing a part of reality. Polinus goverened Time, Uliastai governed Space, Amar governed Life and Freisor governed Death. After countless millenia, many different planes of reality had been formed, each one worshipping the Four Elders as Gods." (???)

Whitebeard had begun to listen seriously now, completely letting down his guard as he become more entranced with the old man's tale. Seeing the elder act like a child, the mysterious old man let out a small smile, before continuing again.

"However, not everything would continue peacefully until the end of time. Freisor gradually grew to be jealous of his brother Amar. In almost every world, Amar was revered and loved, whereas Freisor was hated and shunned. As time past, his jealousy only grew stronger." (???)

Pausing slightly, Whitebeard could see a small smile of regret on the face of the mysterious man, but before he could question anything, he continued again.

"Freisor's jealousy didn't go unoticed however. Uliastai and Polinus began to grow weary of their brother, slowly becoming more and more distant. As you can imagine, this led Freisor's anger to the breaking point. He rebelled against his brothers, causing an immeasurable number of lives to be lost throughout the universe as a result. Though the three brothers could defeat Freisor, nothing can kill an Elder, not even each other. As a result, they sealed and bound him to limbo, where he wanders endlessly." (???)

Whitebeard's face slowly took on a look of shock, before the realisation hit him. Seeing this, the old man smiled self-depricatingly, before sighing.

"It is nice to meet you, Edward. I am Freisor."

So, what did you think of that opening? For the moment, I am considering whether or not to add a system into the novel, for now, I am pushing towards yes, but it is slightly different to normal systems. On top of that, there will be no harem, even if there is a romance. If romance appears, it will be with a maximum of two characters, other than Oyaji obviously. Next chapter will either be up later today or tomorrow. Walrus out.
