“I know where that is,” I said. “How about after lunch? After 12?”

“That’ll be alright with me, tomorrow then.” The roasting was done; the sticks with meat were taken off the grill. It was wrapped; and then handed down to the lad. He was in the act of turning to cross the street when I called him at the last minute.

“Wait,” I said, “can this stay just between us? It’s embarrassing to be taught how to play billiard by a kid, perhaps you know what I mean."

With a wide grin on his face he said, “I know, I won’t tell.” I sigh in contentment for the generosity my luck had gifted me. I wished my lucky streak would continue until I uncover the mystery surrounding the involvement of the Shadow on Gardoza’s death.
