Funny how things turned out in the end.

Because right now I'm watching Mara and Ries talking about gene modding and guns in the dining room over a couple of beers.

Lea and Amber weren't here since they said they needed to prepare for the delivery of the items they bought, which left me sitting beside them and enjoying the doctor and my ship mechanic's company.

I didn't really understand most of what they were saying but I just liked the sight of them being happy talking about what they were interested in.

That's not to say that I wasn't a part of their conversation though, since they would also explain to me what they were talking about quite passionately.

I quickly learned that Gene Splicing was a personal interest for Mara and she was only doing it because it was interesting to her, not because it was profitable.
