|3rd POV|
The situation in Lelcar gets better as the fire goes out. However, it is still bad. Many people lose their homes and their loved ones, and this time, it is not because of the battle. For some reason, the people of Lelcar that the Godwin forces to fight are fine. Only the most reckless and most hotheaded person dies in this battle.
The rest of the people of Lelcar stay on the northern side of the central islet. They are unharmed, mostly.
However, that is not the problem at the moment. Because of the fire, many people lost their homes and a lot of food, as most of the harvest was stored in the western islet. Lucky for them, Gerrald is there for them.
"Move the food, come on!"
In the past two days, the Loyalist Army used their food supply to feed the people of Lelcar. Even the most die-hard Godwin supporters had already changed their hearts and started supporting the prince.
Some even ask Freyjadour directly to accept them into their army because they lost everything they had and wanted revenge. Instead of making the people of Lelcar join their cause, they make Lelcar unite under one banner. Not theirs but rather under Freyjadour's banner.
No one can unite the three islets of Lelcar, but this incident manages to unite all three islets into one. Because of this, the loyalist army got another two thousand people into their ranks, and among them were veterans who had already experienced war. That is not the only thing, as the people of Raftfleet managed to capture ten warships from Godwin and many weapons and armor from one of the ships they captured.
"How is our food situation?"
Gerrald looks to the side and sees Sialeeds walk toward him. He smiles at her and says,
"We are still in the green. Because of my recent expedition to Nirva Island, we have enough food to feed our army for seven years. However, with this incident, we only have less than three years. It is still over two years worth, by a good amount, but we are now less than three years."
"Four years' worth of food is gone, huh? Will we be in trouble?"
"No. I will make sure we go through this war."
Sialeeds looks at Gerrald with a small smile on her face. In her mind, Gerrald is working too hard. He moved from one place to another across the country, and all of this because of a promise he made between them.
"You did not need to do all this, you know?"
"I know, but I want to do it."
Sialeeds can only smile at Gerrald, who sacrifices a lot for a cause that is not of his own creation. Gerrald is doing this because of his kindness in her eyes and mind, but that is so far from the truth.
Some of this is true. Gerrald did this because he did not want many people to die while he was around. However, mostly, it is because of the reward the company will give him if he manages to ensure the prince survives this war.
"Thank you, Gerrald. Thank you, truly."
"It is not a problem, Sialeeds. I am happy to help."
The two of them walk around the city and make sure they have some food to eat or work to make the city liveable for the future. At the moment, the people from the Western Islet are creating a refugee camp in the Central and Eastern Islets.
After another three days, the loyalist army moved out of Lelcar and returned to the Ceras Lake Castle. When they arrive, an emergency meeting occurs in the war room. Lucretia looks at the prince and says.
"Now, Your Highness, I know that you must be tired, but there is another matter that needs your attention. You see, there seems to be a bit of a... problem over in Sable."
"There's a rumor of a 'Bandit Prince' causing a huge mess down there!"
Sialeeds suddenly shouts in frustration. Because she did not follow Lyon and Frejadour to Lelcar, she stayed in Ceras Lake Castle and heard a lot of rumors about the prince attacking the innocent and even robbing them in Sable City.
"Bandit Prince'?"
Raja takes a deep breath and says.
"Apparently, a bandit calling himself 'Prince Frey' is wreaking havoc around Sable. Needless to say, your popularity is not at an all-time high, to say the least!"
"What?!" Lyon shouts in anger, "How could they be so gullible? Is the mountain air affecting their ability to see...? Anyway, Dinn and Boz are over in Sable, aren't they? Why don't we have them get to the bottom of this?"
Lucretia shakes her head and says.
"Funny you should mention them... Our messenger says that even Boz and Dinn could hardly believe their eyes. They were only able to see this 'Bandit Prince' from a distance, but even so, he was the spitting image of His Highness."
"That's impossible!"
"Of course, Boz and Dinn don't believe this 'Bandit Prince' is actually His Highness."
Sialeeds decides to get in the conversation by saying.
"The people of Sable are a lot more gullible, though! It looks like we'll have to head down there ourselves and get this mess straightened out. What's there to discuss? Let's get going! I swear, the moment I get my hands on whoever's impersonating my precious nephew… I will slap him! Hard!"
On the side, Gerrald can only sigh because he knows what kind of thing the prince will encounter in this. He will encounter his doppelganger. Someone who has the same face as the prince, and the only thing that differs between the two of them is their hair color.
Sadly the doppelganger has a wig with the same color as the prince's hair. This is the one that causes the confusion between the people of Sable.
After Lucretia is done with the strategy for the imposter, she looks at Gerrald and says,
"What will you do from now on, Gerrald? You have been working hard for the past week."
Gerrald looks at Lucretia for a few seconds before saying.
"I will go back to my usual business. With the situation here, I need to work even harder to make sure the supply does not run dry. I will continue my trade with the people of Nirva Island. They currently have an abundance from their harvest. I will buy their food for a cheaper price and I hear a rumor there is a small fleet from the Northern Continent searching for a buyer for their wine."
"So you will be busy"
"That is right."
Lucretia secretly sighs at Gerrald's answer. Just like Sialeeds, she also worried about his health. To their eyes, Gerrald is working harder than anyone else but they did not know that he is thinking of his journey as a vacation. He enjoys them as he can relax in between his trips.
"Very well. Be careful and make sure not to push yourself too hard. We need you, Gerrald. Even though you didn't know this, you are one of the important pillars in this army."
"I understand and you do not need to worry. I will take care of myself."
Lucretia nods and says.
"That is all for today's meeting. Ah! Raja, can you stay for a second?"
The old admiral looked at the woman next to me in confusion.
"What do you want, Lucretia? This old bone cannot stay awake too late at night."
"This will not take long. I want to ask you how to make Gerrald relax a little. I am afraid of him suddenly going down because of the work he put in lately."
Raja nods her head in understanding and says.
"Well there are a couple of ways to make him relax."
"Tell me."
"Give him a good fuck."
Raja waited for the embarrassment from Lucretia but to her disappointment, she did not do that.
"I see. What is the second one?"
"Force him to stay. However, he is a stubborn guy and I know he will not stop even when others force him to stop. It will make him even stressed out."
"I understand. Thank you for this information, Raja."
