Kapitel 62: The devil within us

After the wedding ceremony, there was a small banquet where we would greet our guests. Since this world was an unfair one, I had to sit inside a private room where I would greet the guests one by one. Meanwhile, my husband got the luxury to mingle in the banquet over drinks! 

"You look annoyed, my sister." I rolled my eyes and propped my jaw against my knuckles. "Aren't you happy that the wedding you've been waiting for is finally here?"

"My dear big brother, give this pretty bride a break." I glanced at Augustus sitting across from me. I had met the Empress and tons of guests. When I thought it was over, Augustus came to annoy me. 

"I am giving you a break by staying by your side, though."

"Your presence doesn't give me the peace I want."

"Why?" he smirked playfully, raising a brow. "Were you perhaps rattled by my presence because you want something from me?"
