"Where? In this royal palace where people don't treat you well? Where they think they have some kind of authority over you, and your cousin is going to get married to make your life hell here, too?" Kristian asked. 

Though Nickolas didn't like the words the man used, he somehow agreed to every word he said. 

Kristian was right. Delilah needed to take control of her own life. For heaven's sake, she was eighteen years old and grown up enough to make life decisions independently. 

If those people weren't treating her right, she needed to step up her game and leave those rusting relationships that were only corroding her heart with intense pain.

"Are you still waiting for your father to return?" Nickolas asked. 

Delilah blinked her eyes and looked at him in surprise. Where did that even come from?
