Luc POV
Inside a posh Paris apartment, Irina hurled an exquisite Lalique crystal vase at Luc, who caught it just in the nick of time and set it down on a coffee table.
"You said the plan would work," she accused him.
"Elder Gods, please give me strength," he begged, staring at the exquisite old ceiling.
Irina raised her voice. "They better give you more than that. You certainly don't have luck on your side!"
"WE don't. And stop acting so self-righteous and blameless. You are the one who messed up with Dimitri's--"
She covered her ears. "Please don't say 'wife.'"
"Human," he grouched.
She uncovered her ears. "I apologized for that mistake, profusely. How long must you hold it over my head?"
Irina, to him, was everything a woman and vampire princess should be. Beautiful, cultured, commanding, brilliant, fearless. But Gods, she could complicate things sometimes!
Luc does view Dimitri as the favorite child, the younger brat who gets away with everything, whereas Dimitri thinks his parents favor Luc. This is a reality in sibling relationships. What do you think? Who do the parents favor?
Luc would want Ariana mostly because she's forbidden, and because his brother has her. And she's beautiful...
Are Irina and Luc made for each other, even as villains?
