Kapitel 112: The truth

It did not help with him egging on her. It made her heart felt unsettled and listless. 

His choice of encouraging words seemed to trance her into saying it. But she bit her lip as she tried to prevent her tongue from rolling the words out of her mouth.

Due to her overthinking, due to her nervousness over the Party and her wanting to go back to work, she had made the mistakes of spilling out her deepest fear since she ever started working in KEI. 

Harith seemed to know what she was trying to convey, but somehow she could not help but question what if he was only trying to trick her. 

'What if, all that he said was just pure coincidence? But then again, I can trust him, right? No, actually I SHOULD trust him... But what if he won't believe me? Like he did when I disappeared? Would that not add salt to my wound?'

She looked up and caught a glimpse of a smug grin on his face, concealing a different kind of expression she had never seen him wear before.
