"The control box is broken," Karl murmured as he paced around the huge cell tower, "Wires are no good. Metal is dented, but it doesn't cause any functionality issues."
"Do we have extra wires, dad?" Karl's son asked, rubbing the dried tears on his cute cheeks.
"No, but we can find some in the city. Many connection wires were snapped, so we can salvage those and work with it." Karl pointed at the broken wires all around the city, these were the wires that connected them to electricity and other cities, but it was snapped during their elevator into hell.
The neighbors sighed in relief, finally hearing good news for once. Alas, they celebrated too early.
"But." Karl said in a grave tone, "I need electricity."
That was all it took to dampen everyone's mood.
"We don't have any electricity here, old man! No petrol and no power supply!" Morris shouted from the backlines.
Felix stroked his chin, deep in thought.
"I did hear about that, young man. That's why I said it's a problem. I heard that most inverters were also discharged by now?" Karl sighed.
"Inverters…" Felix's eyes brightened, "Car batteries and fuel." he murmured lightly, but Morris quickly heard him.
"Oi oldie, I have a solution to your problem. We can use the car batteries for some smaller machines, and we can take out fuel from cars to power the generators." Morris told proudly.
Karl was shocked how a dumb man like Morris thought of such an idea on his own, but he showered the young man with praises anyway.
"That's brilliant!"
"Whoa, that's genius! When did you get smart, big bro?!"
"Thank you thank you- Wait I was always smart, you brat!" Morris slapped a young boy's head, earning glares from the boy's parents.
Felix silently glared at Morris, staring at him deadpanned.
Morris coughed, "Sorry bro, good job!"
Felix rolled his eyes and ignored him.
"Quick guys, go open every car you can find and take its battery and fuel!" Morris commanded to the mob, earning some side-eyes and annoyed looks from elders who frowned at his tone.
But since time was of the essence, they ignored the young man and rushed into the town, ransacking every car they could find.
Soon, the entire city was blaring with obnoxious alarms.

*Shatter* *BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!*
Kael walked to a brand new Benz-C class, smashing its driver-side window using a rock. He then placed his hand inside the car carefully and unlocked the front hood as well as the fuel flap.
Cathy walked towards the fuel flap to extract the fuel, while Felix opened the car hood and pulled out the battery, causing the alarms to die down.
"That makes for our third battery. I suggest we keep some bikes and cars in working condition if we need them." Felix placed the battery in a bag Morris was carrying and said.
"Yeah, I thought the same?" Morris nodded.
"You can think?" Kael asked in surprise.
"Funny."
"Enough bickering guys, let's head back." Felix led the three dumb ducklings back toward the cell tower.
As they walked back towards the tower, Felix couldn't help but sigh at the chaotic situation all around. In the distance, he heard some gunshots being fired which he ignored, speeding up towards the tower.
Around the tall tower, a crowd was gathered into a circle surrounding an elderly man. In the center, a pile of resources was neatly arranged, containing cans of fuel, many car batteries, and some bike batteries along with it.
Felix walked to the center and placed their findings into the stack.
"Is this much enough, Mr Karl?" Kael asked with hope, looking at the old man.
"I won't give you any false hope, Kael. But, I think it should work." Karl nodded, "Thank you for the support and timely help, everyone."
Although he knew they had helped him only for their selfish purposes, they saved his and his son's life regardless.
"No worries, Mr. Karl. Please repair the tower as soon as possible."
"It's our pleasure!"
"Please focus on the tower."
"Can I take a battery?"
"You are amazing!"
Karl smiled at everyone, then turned to Morris and said, "No, you can't."
"Cheapskate!" Morris grumbled.
"Now if you will leave me alone, everyone." Karl did a curt bow, heading into his basement to bring out his tools, which luckily were kept in a metal box, unharmed.
Felix, feeling satisfied with how it turned out, looked at Kael and gestured him a head nod before walking out of the crowd towards his house.
Kael pulled Cathy out of the crowd along with himself, and surprisingly, Morris followed along.
"You can go back from where you came." Felix glanced at him.
"I can't. My mom is in the nearby town. And I doubt it's even possible," Morris shook his head, "Earlier she had my whole body inside her, but now I doubt that even my head would fit or not."
"The amount of things wrong in that sentence is crazy…" Cathy blinked, hoping she misheard him.
"Your dirty mind is crazy! I like MILFs but incest is a n-"
"Shut up. Stay if you want, but keep quiet." Felix interrupted with a sigh.
Kael chuckled, "What now, little bro?"
"I honestly don't know. This… is weird." Felix glanced above. The circular sky was already darkened while the rocky ceiling hung as ominously as ever.
"What's weird?" Cathy asked in concern.
"Everything down here, what do you think would happen in a city deep underground with no government or strong authority?" Felix asked in a grave tone.
"You mean in an anarchy?" Morris asked.
"Yes, in an anarchy," Felix said, "Doesn't it feel too calm to be true huh? Organizing a party to collect parts? Talking and making jokes like nothing happened?"
In the sky, a white round moon was beginning to appear over the circular hole, bathing the underworld in its moonlight. But somehow, the moonlight felt ominous over their skins and in the distance, a series of gunshots filled the air.
The gunshots sounded the same as those Felix ignored earlier, but the only difference was… it was much closer than before.
"You and your cursed tongue, bastard!" Morris paled.
