Kapitel 30: Chapter 1.29

Orion wasn't naive; he had noticed someone keeping tabs on him over the past few days. Initially, he didn't mind it because the presence didn't seem threatening. However, as time went on, the stalking had escalated to a point where it was becoming annoying.

Orion resolved to take action and decided to set a trap. He had a strong hunch that the person would stalk him again, so he patiently bided his time until he detected their presence. As he patiently waited, the unmistakable scent of the person stalking him wafted toward him, and it turned out to be none other than Mason Lockwood.

"What's your game, Lockwood?" Orion demanded, frustration evident in his voice. Mason remained silent as Orion probed him for answers. Growing increasingly exasperated, Orion reached his breaking point and snapped one of Mason's arms to force a response.

"Ahh!" Mason cried in pain, but Orion wasn't done. "Scream all you want, Mason; no one can hear you. I've cast a silencing spell," Orion calmly stated.

After enduring several minutes of torment, Mason finally cracked. His voice trembled as he uttered a name, "Katherine."

"Oh," was all Orion replied before swiftly ending the conversation by snapping Mason's neck, leaving a chilling message for Katherine.

Mason Lockwood would die anyway; Orion saw no harm in expediting the process. He carefully left puncture marks on Mason's neck, scheming it to resemble a vampire attack. Orion then drained a liter of blood from Mason, carefully preserving a vial of it for his purposes.

As Orion slipped away from the scene, he couldn't help but feel a sense of grim satisfaction. The message to Katherine had been sent loud and clear: there were consequences for meddling in his affairs.

Orion had always been a meticulous planner. He had managed to secure a vial of the Petrova doppelganger's blood, knowing full well that it was a crucial component of his quest for immortality. After all, he understood that achieving immortality required careful preparation and precise execution.

Besides getting his hands on the Petrova doppelganger's blood, he managed to snag Mason Lockwood's blood, which was part of one of the seven werewolf bloodlines, along with some of his blood. With these two critical elements tucked away, he had two of the seven bloodlines, counting his own.

One thing about mystic falls Orion never understood is that the town has always had events; it was beyond him. Today, he was getting ready for the masquerade ball.

Orion opted for a sleek black tuxedo paired with a black and gold ornate mask that veiled half his face. Meanwhile, Bonnie donned an elegant white dress, complemented by a white mask adorned with black markings that matched her attire. They were all set to make an entrance at the masquerade ball.

Orion strolled into the Lockwood mansion, and his first order of business was heading straight for the alcohol. He knew this night was going to be exhausting. As he sipped his drink, he mingled with the crowd, absentmindedly moving through the conversations and socializing.

While conversing with a few individuals, Orion noticed "Elena" and extended an invitation for a dance.

While they moved gracefully on the dance floor, Orion locked eyes with her and casually said, "Hello, Katherine." Her expression shifted from surprise to a sly smirk.

"Did you enjoy my little surprise?" Orion inquired, feigning innocence. Katherine's smirk vanished as she glanced at him.

"Oh, Orion, if you're trying to get to me, you'll need to put in more effort," she retorted, tightening her grip on his hand with her vampiric strength. However, before she could escalate the situation further, Orion swiftly sent a powerful aneurysm in her direction, causing her to gasp in pain and temporarily silencing her.

Orion leaned in, his voice low and icy,""Съмнявам се, Катерина. Зная кого се опитваш да избегнеш - Клаус. Не бихме искали той да открие, че си жива и здрава тук в Мистик Фолс, заедно с човешки двойник, нали?"

(I doubt it, Katerina. I'm aware of who you're trying to evade – Klaus. We wouldn't want him discovering that you're alive and well here in Mystic Falls alongside a human doppelganger, would we?)

Katherine appeared visibly stunned, her eyes betraying a flicker of fear. Wearing a satisfied smirk, Orion turned and walked away, leaving Katherine to grapple with her thoughts.

Aside from his encounter with Katherine, Orion grew increasingly bored with the evening's events. He knew what was brewing that night but consciously chose to stay out. Instead, he continued to mingle with the other guests, maintaining a facade of indifference.

Orion drove up to the abandoned house in the middle of nowhere. He stepped inside and scanned the dimly lit space. He found what he had been seeking in the shadows: Elijah Mikaelson immobilized with a makeshift stake from a coat rack.

Orion approached cautiously and, with careful precision, removed the improvised stake from Elijah's chest. After setting Elijah down on the ground, Orion placed a blood bag within his reach. He patiently waited about ten minutes, watching Elijah's body gradually return to life. Finally, Elijah gasped for air, indicating his return to consciousness.

"Welcome back to the land of the living, Mr. Mikaelson. There's a blood bag right beside you. I suggest you drink it before we dive into our conversation," Orion advised.

Elijah followed Orion's advice and drank from the blood bag while studying his host.

"And who might you be?" Elijah inquired.

Orion introduced himself, saying, "Orion, Orion Bennett."

Elijah's curiosity was piqued. "I believe you meet my ancestor, Ayana."

" Yes, I have, But what is it you want," Elijah said

. "As for what I want," he continued, "it's quite simple. I have a proposal, a deal that could benefit both of us, Mr. Mikaelson."

Elijah regarded Orion with a measured gaze, his interest piqued. "I'm listening," he replied. "What type of deal are you proposing, Mr. Bennett?" Elijah was known for his sense of honor and duty, and he needed to ensure that any arrangement would align with his principles and benefit his family's interests.

Orion leaned in, his tone confident yet respectful. "Mr. Mikaelson," he began, "I believe in a mutually beneficial partnership. You see, I possess certain resources and knowledge that could be of great value to you and your family. In return, I have some specific needs that I believe you can help me with."

"What do you mean by knowledge?" Elijah said with a dangerous glint in his eyes

Orion met Elijah's intense gaze with a calm demeanor. "When I mentioned knowledge, Mr. Mikaelson, I was referring to my unique ability," he explained. "I am a seer, gifted with visions of events and possibilities. This knowledge can be invaluable. "

"In exchange for revealing the whereabouts of your siblings," Orion reiterated. "I would like access to your mother's grimoire."

Ever the cautious negotiator, Elijah took a moment to consider Orion's request. After a thoughtful pause, he finally spoke, "If you can uphold your part of the agreement, then we have a deal."

However, he had one more condition to add. "Before we proceed, Mr. Mikaeslon, I want you to sign a contract. Your word means nothing to me, but this document I possess is magically binding. Once you sign it with your blood, there's no going back on either end of our agreement. It will ensure that our pact is unbreakable and that both parties fulfill their obligations."

With a firm nod, Elijah agreed to Orion's request and signed the document with a sense of finality. The ink on the contract sealed their agreement, symbolically and magically, ensuring that their partnership would be binding and that each would uphold their respective commitments.

Elijah's skepticism lingered as Orion spoke, "Very well, let's proceed. Give me some of your blood, and extend your hands."

Orion's grin held a touch of determination as he took Elijah's hand and made a small cut to draw his blood. With the blood now in his possession, he began to chant in a language familiar to Elijah, invoking the power of the Chambre de Chasse.

"Mitte mentem suam ad cubiculum venandi," he intoned, using Elijah's blood as the link to connect with his siblings' minds and draw them into the pocket room he had created.

As the ritual played out, the atmosphere around them seemed to shift, and the connection between Elijah and his family grew stronger. But then, Elijah's mind went to the Chambre de Chasse with the rest of his siblings, excluding Freya.

Using magic, Orion scooped up the unconscious Elijah and gently laid him in his car. He returned to his place and plopped Elijah's snoozing form on the living room couch. Little did he know, Bonnie had come downstairs, took one look at the situation, and couldn't help but groan in exasperation.

"Again?" she muttered, clearly no stranger to the situation.
