Kapitel 14: Hybrid Heir ;Prologue

As Omari regained consciousness in the darkness, the shock of what had happened hit him like a truck. The vivid recollection of his death washed over him like a scorching fire, engulfing him in an agonizing memory he could not escape. The flames that had consumed him had been a bright, searing orange, dancing around him with an insatiable hunger for his flesh. The heat emanating from the inferno had been intense, scorching everything in its path with an unforgiving fury. As the flames licked at his skin, he felt a searing pain that ripped through his body like a thousand knives.

It had been a pain unlike any other he had ever experienced, relentless torture that had left him screaming for mercy. But there was no mercy to be found in flames, only a stubborn blaze that refused to be extinguished.

The stench of burning flesh had been overpowering, a sickening odor that had made him gag and retch. His screams echoed into the distance, bouncing off the walls of the inferno and returning to him with a haunting resonance. It was a sound he could never forget, a piercing wail that spoke of his agony and despair.

The pain had been too much to bear, and he had welcomed the relief that death brought him. But even in the end, the memory of the flames lingered, haunting him with a relentless persistence that he could never escape. Ultimately, he resigned to his fate, allowing the fire to swallow him whole.

Anyway, back to the present. He had anticipated being judged for his life but found himself in an unfamiliar place. As he ventured through the corridors, his footsteps echoed into the abyss. Suddenly, a hissing noise interrupted the silence, and he felt a sense of curiosity overcome him. The sound grew louder, leading him to a stunning woman with two serpents wrapped around her arms. One of the snakes snapped at him with a menacing glare, and he froze in fear. The woman gazed at him with an enigmatic expression, and the air around them grew heavy with uncertainty.

The man took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. He could feel the woman's gaze piercing through him, and he couldn't help but wonder what kind of power she held. The two snakes wrapped around her arms seemed to hiss in unison as if they were trying to tell him something.

As he stood there, frozen in fear, the woman began to speak, her voice a low whisper that sent chills down his spine. "Welcome to the Duat," she said, echoing through the hallways.

As Omari stood frozen in fear, the woman with serpents around her arms continued to gaze at him with an enigmatic expression. Suddenly, her lips parted, and she spoke in a voice that seemed to echo from beyond the void. "Do not be afraid, my child," she said, "for I am Isis, the Egyptian goddess of magic."

The sound of her voice was simultaneously soothing and awe-inspiring. It was a voice that had not been heard in a very long time, yet it still commanded respect and reverence.

He looked up at the goddess, feeling confused and amazed. "Isis? The goddess of magic?" he stammered.

Isis smiled gently, her snakes hissing softly. "Yes, my child. And you are here because you are my son, or rather, a reincarnation of him."

His mind was reeling. It was hard enough to believe that he had died and that he was now in the presence of a goddess, let alone that he was her son.

"But...how is that possible?" he asked, his voice trembling slightly.

Isis's features softened, and a small smile appeared on her lips as she gazed upon her reincarnated son. "The gods work in mysterious ways, child. Sometimes they grow bored of their monotonous life of immortality and choose to be born anew. A chance to start over from the very beginning. Like a brand new slate. And reincarnation is one of their methods of ensuring their legacy lives on," she explained. "And now that you have returned to this plane, my son, I must teach you the ways of magic and guide you on your path, both in this world and the next."

The prospect of learning magic from a goddess who claimed to be his mother and the adventure of exploring a new world filled him with both terror and exhilaration. However, as he gazed at Isis, he detected a profound sorrow in her eyes that he had not noticed before.

Her eyes, usually bright and full of life, now seemed clouded with a deep sadness that weighed heavily on her soul. It was as if the world's weight rested upon her shoulders, and her emotions were too much to bear.

Despite her attempts to conceal her grief, the sorrow that radiated from her was palpable. He couldn't help but wonder what had caused her such profound pain and if he could help ease her suffering.

As he looked upon her, he felt a pang of empathy and concern for this goddess who was his mother. He hoped he would have the opportunity to learn from her the art of magic and the secrets of her heart.

"Is something wrong?" he asked hesitantly.

Isis's expression softened, and she reached out to touch his cheek. "No, my child. It's just that...I haven't seen my son in a very long time. And even though you are his reincarnation, it is still difficult to see you like this."

"If you don't mind me asking, what happened to him?" I asked. Curious to know what happened to what was essentially my past life.

"What happened to many others? He grew bored after the first few million years. He had already done everything to relieve himself from a boring existence. So, he chose to start all over again. For thousands of years, he has been born, lived, loved, fallen in love, had children, and died. Over and over and over again. Alas, that is the fate of everyone with an extremely long life. You either do anything you can to stave off the boredom, or time drives you to madness. Of course, you can also do what he did and reincarnate again."

Wow. Just wow. I never thought about it like that. Almost every human would want to live forever. The ability to never die. To never grow old. To always be healthy. But apparently, immortality is not all it's cracked up to be. Even a few hours of boredom make me want to kill myself, but I can't imagine thousands or millions of years with nothing to do. No wonder they become mad if they stay like that. I would, too, to be honest.

I sympathized with this goddess, who had been waiting so long to see her son again. I knew that I had a lot to learn from her.

"Can I know which world I am going to next?" I inquired, curious yet apprehensive.

Isis's smile was serene, her blue eyes shimmering with an otherworldly light. "You will be sent to a world teeming with supernatural creatures such as vampires, werewolves, and witches," she revealed, her voice laced with a hint of mystery and intrigue.

My heart raced with excitement and trepidation as I absorbed her words. Suddenly, Isis dropped a bombshell that shook me to my core. "I believe you have already witnessed a glimpse of this world," she said, her piercing gaze locking onto mine. "Through a show called The Vampire Diaries."

I felt a jolt of recognition as her words sank in. Memories flooded back to the countless nights I had spent binge-watching the show, fascinated by the intricate web of supernatural beings and their complex relationships. It was a world of darkness, light, love, betrayal, power, and sacrifice.

As Omari wandered through the Duat, he was in awe of its vastness and complexity. Lush and green fields stretched miles, and the lakes sparkled like diamonds. The rivers flowed like liquid silver, glinting in the otherworldly light, while the islands were adorned with glittering gemstones and towering statues of ancient gods.

But as he ventured deeper into the underworld, he encountered more ominous sights. The trees of turquoise were eerie, with twisted limbs and glowing eyes that followed him as he passed. The lakes of fire blazed with an intensity that threatened to scorch his skin, and the iron walls towered above him, casting deep shadows that seemed to stretch on forever.

Amidst all this, he sensed the presence of evil entities lurking in the shadows and waiting to pounce on the unsuspecting. He could feel their dark energy pulsing through the air, and he knew that he must remain alert if he hoped to make it out of the Duat unscathed.

Despite the dangers, Omari found himself drawn to the mystery and wonder of the ancient underworld, eager to explore every corner and unlock its secrets. He knew that with Isis's guidance, he could navigate its treacherous paths and emerge victorious.

------

Isis gestured for me to follow her deeper into the maze of corridors. As we walked, she explained the basics of magic and how it worked. She spoke of spells and incantations, tapping into the universe's energy to make things happen.

As we reached a small chamber, Isis turned to me and touched my chest. I could feel the warmth of her touch spread through me, and suddenly, I was filled with a surge of power. It was like nothing I had ever experienced, and I was in awe of my capabilities.

"Now, let us begin your training, my son," she said, and I nodded eagerly. We started with simple spells, such as levitation and telekinesis. Isis would explain each step of the process, guiding me through each movement until I could complete the bit independently.

As Omari's confidence grew, he delved into advanced spells, including the art of elemental control. He discovered that he had a natural aptitude for controlling fire, which surprised Isis, the goddess of magic. As Omari wielded his powers, he couldn't help but feel a deep sense of unease.

Despite his reservations, Omari continued practicing, honing his skills each day. He learned to shape and direct the flames, to make them dance and swirl at his command. But even as he basked in the glow of his newfound abilities, he couldn't shake the feeling of dread that haunted him.

One day, as he stood before Isis, practicing his control over the flames, he felt a sudden surge of energy coursing through his body. It was as if the fire had awakened something deep within him that he couldn't quite explain.

The flames he summoned were different from the ones he had conjured before. They were not hot and consuming but warm and comforting, like a gentle gust of wind on a chilly night. As he gazed at the flickering flames, Omari realized that he had formed a deep connection with the fire that went beyond mere control.

The fire was no longer a symbol of death and destruction for him but a source of warmth, light, and hope. And with each passing day, Omari's mastery over the flames grew more robust, as did his bond with the element that had once consumed him.

With fire under his command, Omari turned his attention to the next aspect of magic, illusions. He immersed himself in the art of illusions, studying every part of it with a keen eye. He studied how the mind processed visual information and learned to create illusions that exploited the brain's natural tendencies. He observed how light and shadows played off each other and learned to manipulate them.

At first, his illusions were simple, but as he gained more confidence, he began experimenting with more complex scenarios. He created illusions of entire cities and landscapes with moving people and animals. He even created illusions of himself, able to appear in multiple places at once, confusing and disorienting his opponents.

(1st POV)

With each spell, I could feel the magic flowing through me, like a river of energy I could tap into.

The training was intense, and I often felt exhausted from channeling so much power. But Isis urged me to continue, telling me that I needed to master these spells if I was to have any chance of surviving in the world to come.

Isis smiled at me once again and placed her hand on my forehead. As I continued my magical training under Isis's guidance, I discovered that I was learning how to harness the power of magic and acquire knowledge beyond what I thought possible. I was also gaining understanding from an Ancient Egyptian Goddess.

Surprisingly, Ancient Egyptian and its hieroglyphs came quickly to me as if they had been a part of me all along. It was as if I had already known the language and only needed to remember it. I could read the inscriptions on the walls of the corridors we walked through quickly, and I found myself translating them effortlessly.

Latin was more challenging, but I soon became proficient with Isis's patient guidance. The intricacies of the language fascinated me, and I relished the challenge of learning something new.

As I delved deeper into the magical arts, I discovered that learning these languages was essential to mastering certain spells and incantations. Isis explained that many of the ancient texts and grimoires were written in these languages and that I could only tap into their power if I could comprehend them.

So, I continued to study and practice, pouring over ancient texts and deciphering hieroglyphs. And with each passing day, my understanding of the magical arts grew,

"You have learned well," she said. "But remember, magic is a powerful tool that must be used responsibly. Do not let it consume you."

(3rd POV)

Time seemed to blur together in the realm of Duat as Omari continued his magic training under Isis's watchful eye. Her guidance and patience helped him grow in skill and confidence, and he felt deep gratitude toward her.

Under Isis's tutelage, Omari delved into the darker aspects of magic and was introduced to the powerful practice of necromancy. Anubis, the jackal-headed god of death and embalming, became his guide in this new realm of magic.

Omari initially found the idea of manipulating the souls of the dead daunting, but with Anubis's patient guidance, he learned to communicate with them. As he delved deeper into this type of magic, Omari discovered that he possessed a natural affinity for it, and he amazed himself with his ability to summon and converse with souls.

In addition to teaching him how to communicate with the dead, Anubis instructed Omari in the art of curse manipulation. With Anubis's guidance, Omari learned how to easily cast, deflect, lift, and rewrite curses, bending them to his will. Omari's newfound knowledge and skills in both of these areas left him in awe of the power he now possessed.

Anubis instructed him to summon the dead when necessary and guide them back to their resting place. It was not just the communication with the dead that Anubis taught Omari. As Omari continued his training, Anubis introduced him to even more powerful magic, such as the ability to call forth the black fire that devours all souls.

Learning this type of magic was complex and required a lot of focus and dedication. Omari had to tap into his innermost reserves of strength and willpower to master this powerful spell. But with Anubis as his guide, he persevered and successfully harnessed the black fire.

Omari understood this spell's immense power and knew it could not be used lightly. Anubis did not take the teaching of the black fire lightly and made sure that Omari understood the tremendous power and responsibility that came with it. As he delved deeper into the magic, Omari realized the true nature of the black fire and the consequences of using it carelessly.

He learned that calling forth the black fire was not just a matter of uttering words or casting spells; it required a deep understanding of life, death, and the balance between the two. Anubis showed him the importance of using the black fire only when necessary, such as in cases of severe injustice or defense of oneself or others.

Omari understood that the black fire was a double-edged sword that could easily consume those who wielded it recklessly.

Anubis was also a skilled warrior, so he absorbed his teachings like a sponge. He taught Omari how to channel his magic into powerful attacks and defenses. He also taught him how to fight with weapons or hand-to-hand combat, just as intense as sword fighting. They spared for hours, and Omari ended up bruised and exhausted but felt more alive than ever.

Anubis was a stern teacher, but Omari thrived under his guidance. His lessons were intense and grueling, but he never felt like giving up. He pushed Omari to his limits and beyond and emerged from each session feeling more robust and confident.

One of the most memorable lessons was when Anubis taught him how to wield a sword. He handed him a curved blade that glinted in the dim light of the underworld and told him to attack him. He hesitated initially, but he urged him on, telling him to fight as if his life depended on it.

Omari lunged forward with the sword, but Anubis dodged his attack and knocked the blade from his hand. He taught Omari to read his opponent's movements and anticipate their attacks.

-------

Omari stood in a stunningly decorated room, with Anubis and Isis gazing at him with their wise eyes. He felt a mixture of emotions: excitement at all he had learned under their tutelage and sadness at the realization that it was time for him to embark on his next journey.

Omari stood before Anubis and Isis, his heart heavy with sadness and vulnerability. He felt a deep sense of respect and trust in their guidance as they spoke. Anubis and Isis explained that his journey was far from over. Still, to protect his soul from the burden of carrying all his accumulated knowledge, they needed to seal away his memories.

They went on to clarify that as his soul was still young and vulnerable, it was crucial to protect it from the overwhelming weight of his knowledge. Omari listened carefully, understanding the importance of their decision.

Anubis and Isis reassured him that his memories would gradually return to him as he grew stronger, allowing him to regain all the knowledge he had acquired. They emphasized that this was not a punishment but a necessary step in his growth and development.
