Christopher also looked towards the entrance and saw that it was indeed Emily. He noted that although she arrived unescorted and none of the hosts were welcoming her, she did not look out of place. Rather, she stood there with a straight posture, confident in her own skin but wasn't stand-offish. 

Briefly, he took her visage in. Emily's features were dainty and innocent looking. She had emerald colored doe eyes, small button nose, and pink bow shaped lips. Her complexion was fair and her hair a luscious brown. Though she was not that tall, her body was well proportioned. 

Truly, she was deserving to be one of the uncontested beauties of their generation. It was just too bad that she was but a daughter of an impoverished baron, and though she was now a baroness in her own right, it was but an empty title. So, in comparison to most of the ladies of the ton, she still fell short.
