Kapitel 54: Worlds Apart

Feng Ruoxi woke up early the next morning and realized that Jiang Yukang had left. She showered, got dressed for school, and went downstairs. The butler, Zhao, approached her and said, "Good morning, ma'am. Sir has already left. He said I should tell you to take time off from school and be with your friend. He will talk to the principal."

Feng Ruoxi nodded. "Oh...thanks." She turned and went back upstairs, changing out of her uniform and putting on casual home clothes. When she came back down, she found Xia Xingxing and Mrs. Xia sitting awkwardly in the living room.

"How are you two doing?" Feng Ruoxi asked, her voice gentle.

Xia Xingxing forced a smile. "We will get there."

Mrs. Xia's eyes glistened with gratitude. "Thank you for helping us and accommodating us, but we really feel out of place here."

Feng Ruoxi shook her head. "Xingxing is my only friend, which means you two are welcome to stay here as long as you see fit."
