Kapitel 8: Make A Killing (1)

Yue Yan giggled as well. Then, she remembered. "By the way, why don't I see Grandma at home? Have you eaten?"

Zhou Boyan smiled and said, "Of course I've eaten. Grandma went to deliver food to Grandpa."

So he had a grandfather too. She had first thought that Brother Xiaofei and Grandma relied on each other.

Yue Yan sat for a while more before her father's voice came from downstairs. "Yueyue, let's come home for dinner!"

"Hurry up and eat more."

Yue Yan jogged home.

Yun Cheng took a day off because of the shock. The next day, he came to school early. There were not many people in the classroom, but his deskmate was already here.

Yue Yan was memorizing her textbook.

He had two tea eggs in his pocket. He swallowed his saliva all the way, but unfortunately, his mother's orders were for him to bring them to his deskmate.

Yue Yan rejected Yun Cheng's tea egg. "You eat it. I've had breakfast."

Yun Cheng sniffed and tried not to gulp. He was really hungry. "My mother said that I must hand them to you."

Yue Yan turned to look at him. "You can eat them. I won't tell your mom."

Yun Cheng was skeptical. "That's not good, is it?"

She turned around and continued memorizing the text. "What's wrong with that? My brother saved you. It has nothing to do with me. You don't have to give me anything."

Yun Cheng did not eat the tea eggs. Instead, he placed them under the table and touched them from time to time.

Cao Wenkai had mixed feelings when he walked into the classroom and saw Yun Cheng. He wanted to teach the fatty a lesson, so he deliberately revealed to those hooligans that there was a fatty in his class whose family was rich.

He did not know Yun Cheng's family background, but he immediately panicked when he heard Little Yu say that Yun Cheng's father was an official.

He wanted to go back and save him. Yun Cheng would owe him a favor if he went in time. However, there was nothing left when he went over. There were even traces of a fight on the ground.

He had not slept well for the past two days. Fortunately, Yun Cheng only took a day off and came back to class soon. He was afraid that Yun Cheng would find out about him.

There were not many people left in the classroom after school. Yun Cheng suddenly placed the tea eggs on Yue Yan's table and ran out of the classroom.

The little fatty's potential was indeed limitless to be able to run so fast.

Yue Yan was caught off guard by him. The desk was shared by the two of them, and there was a line drawn in the middle. She could only take the tea eggs home helplessly.

Wen Hongyu was already home after work. "What is Yueyue holding?"

Yue Yan told her about how she and Zhou Boyan saw the bullying on the way out. Her deskmate insisted on repaying her. This tea egg was a gift from her deskmate's family.

Wen Hongyu's heart ached. "Why are there hooligans in the city? Shall we stop setting up a stall? It's so dangerous to be alone!"

Yue Yan knew that her mother was worried, so she used Zhou Boyan as a cover.

"I'll ask Brother Xiaofei to come with me. I'll give him an errand fee when the time comes."

Wen Hongyu chuckled. "You have so many tricks up your sleeve. You even learned to be a capitalist."

After her mother agreed, Yue Yan started to make colorful hair ties and headbands as soon as she finished her homework.

There was a large wicker basket at home. It was about a meter in diameter and was covered with a layer of cloth. Yue Yan used glue and sewing. This was considered the most basic handicraft.

She had even done cross-stitching in university. A painting could sell for a few hundred yuan, but it was time-consuming and taxing on the eyes. She had even set up a street stall with her roommates to sell small jewelry and cell phone filming. A bunch of competitors appeared after they were earning money for a few days. Hence, they sold the goods in their hands and did not continue.

It could be said that Yue Yan had basically tried various ways to earn money during her university days. She would have started a business if she had the start-up capital.

At eight o'clock, Yue Huaide came home. He came back with the heat and was drenched in sweat, as if he had been caught in the rain.

Yue Yan listened to her parents' conversation as she worked.

Wen Hongyu handed the towel to her husband. "Why are you back so late? You're covered in sweat as if you've fought a water battle."

Yue Huaide wiped his face. "On the way out of the city today, someone wanted to go to a village. He gave me two yuan and I pulled him to the village. The round trip was 20 kilometers. You don't know how bad that road is. I almost went over the crops several times."

Yue Yan was frightened when she heard that. She did not expect it to be so dangerous to ride a tricycle. It must be very tiring to ride for 20 kilometers. She had to earn a big sum of money to let her father do business.

Yue Yan would make the hair ties and headbands intermittently after school every day until 10 p.m. A few large wicker baskets were filled by Friday.

Yue Yan found Yue Huaide. "Dad, I'll hire you for a day today. I'll give you 30% of the money I earn. How about that?"

Yue Huaide chuckled. "Daddy doesn't want your money. Take all the money you earn."

However, he was quickly slapped in the face.

In order to achieve the publicity effect, Yue Yan specially wore the headband she made. This kind of thing only appeared in Hong Kong's magazines in the 1980s and could not be bought in the mainland.

Yue Yan came to the entrance of the boarding school. This was a secondary school. The students who earned money while going to school were the main force of consumption.

As expected, Yue Yan, who was wearing a headband, attracted the attention of many girls.

Yue Yan was wearing a yellow headband with red dots on it. Her hair was let loose after she washed it, and she was only wearing the headband. She had a good foundation to begin with, and her eyes were bright and lively. Although she was thin and not tall now, and her skin was dark yellow from malnutrition, one could tell that she was a beauty.

This indescribable beauty made the girls involuntarily come to Yue Yan.

"Young lady, your hair clip is so beautiful. Where did you buy it?"

Yue Yan pointed at the bamboo basket in front of her. "I made this myself. You can take a look at the style."
