Kapitel 19: Mission Impossible

"You don't need to be scared of me."

Aysel wanted to say she wasn't, but her mouth couldn't utter the lie, so she helplessly stared at the floor, finding it attractive all of a sudden.

Watching her open and close her mouth helplessly, Nathaniel's gaze deepened.

He was good at reading faces, and the slightest emotion couldn't escape his eyes.

When he laid his eyes on Aysel, he found her strange. Her gray eyes darted around the moment she stepped into the room, and despite how she tried to mask her curiosity, he saw it immediately.

He could feel her fear when he stared at her, her relief when he averted his gaze, and her awkwardness when his grandfather asked her to address him intimately.

But what made him remain patient was that she didn't have that look in her eyes—the one everyone else had. Her gaze was clear, and she didn't seem disgusted by his weak state.
