[Long chapter.]

Lucian didn't release her even though she was struggling to get away from him. Instead, he pulled her behind a pillar next to the place they were standing as he heard voices coming from the corridors and pinned her back against the pillar, his hand flat behind her head on the pillar to keep her from running away.
He had come out of the chamber he'd used to bathe and change and was heading to the dining hall when she had collided with him, and he had perceived Caelan's scent on her. Now, he wouldn't let her slip away with that look on her face that made his insides churn with rage, he'd felt a air of revulsion around her the minute he'd pulled her towards him, as if she was utterly disgusted by anyone and everyone who would touch he at this moment, that had intensified the feeling of anger in him as he realized he didn't like that she seemed disgusted by him touching her as well.
