Kapitel 18: Chapter 18: Get Out Of My Body.

Diego gazed at Ji-woo in a state of astonishment before a realization dawned upon him.

"Eun-kyung?" he uttered, his uncertainty evident.

"Yes, it is I, you dummy" she retorted, her anger still palpable.

He noticed her change in demeanor and attempted to clarify his actions, "Do not misunderstand my intentions. Ji-woo and I are in a romantic relationship, so my behavior shouldn't come as a surprise."

Eun-kyung's expression of anger shifted to one of surprise, "Really? Since when?"

"Since yesterday," he confessed.

"Wait, how long has it been since I vanished?" she inquired, the memory of her previous ordeal resurfacing. She recalled the inexplicable return of the wretched novel to her room, which subsequently sucked her spirit back into its pages. The quandary lay in how the book materialized within her quarters. A chilling sensation ran down her spine, prompting her to wrap her arms around herself.

"Eun-kyung," Diego tapped her gently.

"Yes, what is it?" she responded, emerging from her reverie.

"I said it has been three weeks," he replied.

"Three weeks...of course, now it all makes sense. I had spent almost two weeks here during my earlier disappearance, which equates to a day in my world. Hence, my absence here for three weeks amounts to a day and a half in my world. That's how the time..." she began explaining but was interrupted by Diego.

"What on earth are you talking about?" he interjected, bewildered.

"Oh, it is of no consequence. Diego please be patient and wait for the noodles to reach their ideal state," Eun-kyung kindly remarked as she retrieved a tissue from the cupboard, delicately passing it to him. Diego diligently wiped away the blood that trickled from his nose.

"But Ji-woo has already prepared snacks for us," Diego informed her.

"I have no concern for that at this moment, my dear. Please vacate the kitchen," she urged, attempting to gently usher him out. However, it was at this moment that Eun-kyung noticed the bruise on his nose, prompting her to apologize. Yet, Diego merely shrugged it off and departed.

As Diego made his way into the dining hall, Ga-ram couldn't help but notice the bruise on Diego's nose. Curiosity piqued, she inquired about what had occurred, only to receive a fabricated story about Diego accidentally bumping into a wall with his nose.

A few minutes later, Eun-kyung emerged with a tray, carrying five bowls of steaming noodles. With a mischievous smile adorning her face, she began serving the delicacy to each person, deliberately saving U-jin for last.

"Enjoy," she sweetly whispered, her mischievous grin seizing the attention of all. Diego, wary of her expression, made the decision to observe everyone's reactions before partaking himself. As Eun-woo, Ga-ram, and Si-woo revelled in their satisfaction while savoring the noodles, U-jin took a bite, only to reveal a disgusted expression, swiftly making his way to the guest bathroom.

Eun-kyung's laughter reverberated throughout the room, capturing the attention of all present.

"I have long yearned for this moment," she chuckled.

Disheartened by her actions, Diego interjected, "This is a regrettable course of action. Upon your return, rather than resorting to such methods, you could have simply expressed your displeasure physically."

Startled by Diego's words, Eun-woo, Ga-ram, and Si-woo collectively exclaimed her name in astonishment, "Eun-kyung!"

"Yes, it is indeed I, in the flesh," she declared with fervor.

"But why now, of all times?" Si-woo questioned, struggling to believe the sudden appearance and actions of Eun-kyung.

"I don't really know why but I'm back, tell me who truly missed me while I was gone" she asked in excitement.

"The only individual who truly missed you is the one currently confined to the bathroom due to your actions," Eun-woo stated firmly as he rose from his seat and approached her. He gently turned her around and commenced their journey towards the aforementioned bathroom. "Remain here and ensure that you offer your sincere apologies," he commanded with authority before departing.

"Why is he giving me such a fatherly vibe?" she pondered aloud, addressing no one in particular.

After waiting by the bathroom door for approximately five minutes, she decided to sit down and lean against it.

A few minutes passed, and U-jin opened the door, causing her to lose balance and fall to the ground. Nevertheless, she greeted him with a genuine smile as he squatted down, observing her visage intently from above.

"I deeply regret my actions. I am truly sorry," she apologized.

U-jin regarded her with a perplexed expression before speaking up, "No problem."

"Truly?" she exclaimed, springing back to her feet in a burst of energy. Reacting swiftly, U-jin instinctively sought to evade any potential incoming blow, rising to his own stance in the process.

"Yes," he confirmed, his voice carrying unwavering conviction.

"I never anticipated that you would forgive me so easily," she confessed, nervously fiddling with her fingers.

"Since when did you return?" he inquired, his expression serious.

"Oh, just a few minutes ago. I found myself in Ji-woo's bathroom," she answered. U-jin let out a sigh of relief. "Why do you ask?"

"No particular reason. Let's go back," he stated, and Eun-kyung followed suit. He halted in front of the entrance to the dining hall, and Eun-kyung stopped walking too.

"What's going on?" she asked.

"Diego and Ji-woo were supposed to go on a date today," he informed her.

"I have been informed," she replied, garnering a quizzical expression from U-jin.

"So Diego attempted to kiss me earlier in the kitchen, but he did explain himself, although I had already..." she began, but U-jin cut her off.

"Wait, he did what?" he asked, his anger evident in his voice.

"Do not fret, I promptly delivered a punch to his nose, which is why it appears bruised. He received his due," she reassured him, even though she herself couldn't quite comprehend her own actions.

A sigh of relief escaped U-jin's lips, and he affectionately patted her head. "You did well," he complimented, before stepping into the dining hall. Eun-kyung, casting a puzzled look at him, followed suit.

Meanwhile, Ga-ram sauntered in carrying an assortment of baking equipment, including a mixer, measuring cups, and pans.

"What are these for?" Eun-kyung inquired.

"I intend to bake a cake for my mother's upcoming birthday, but I require flour and the icing ingredients. I have the rest at home," Ga-ram explained.

"Have you checked the kitchen for those items?" Eun-kyung asked.

"Yes, the maids informed me that Ji-woo had depleted the flour while preparing croissants," Ga-ram shared.

"In that case, allow me to purchase them for you and deliver them to your home. Don't burden yourself unnecessarily," Eun-kyung suggested kindly.

"That would be incredibly kind of you. And might I also ask if you could acquire a stirring machine for churning the butter? I will need it as well," Ga-ram pleaded.

"Of course. Si-woo, where are your car keys?" Eun-kyung called out to him.

"I can drive you there. Remember, possessing knowledge of driving doesn't grant you the license to drive anywhere without proper certification," U-jin offered, his voice laced with concern.

"Very true. In that case, Eun-woo can you please drive Ga-ram home," Eun-kyung proposed.

"Si-woo, please accompany me. You can bring your game console too. We can indulge in cake and enjoy some video games together. It's a double treat, isn't it?" Eun-woo excitedly requested, prompting Si-woo to beam with delight as he dashed upstairs to retrieve the game console.

Eun-kyung swiftly changed her attire and ventured to the supermarket accompanied by U-jin. He skillfully parked his car at a nearby park before gracefully leading the way into the bustling supermarket. Armed with a shopping stroller, they diligently sought out the items that Ga-ram had meticulously listed. As they approached the aisle where the ingredients for the cake icing were positioned, a light-hearted debate about the ideal color ensued. The female customers present in that section couldn't help but find their camaraderie endearing, playfully referring to them as a sweet couple. Eun-kyung was inwardly flustered by the assumption while U-jin's offered a warm smile to them, which made the female customers swoon.

Eventually, a harmonious agreement was reached, prompting them to gracefully proceed to the checkout counter to finalize their payment. With a stroke of brilliance, U-jin suggested retrieving the car from the park, conveniently positioning it near the supermarket entrance. This thoughtful suggestion ensured ease in transporting their newly acquired provision making her to agree then he made his exit.

After some time, Eun-kyung efficiently concluded the transaction then she valiantly set out to push the stroller, carefully laden with the bag of flour and the remaining materials specified by Ga-ram, towards the supermarket's exit.

However, a fickle turn of fortune loomed as she approached the exit. Suddenly, a masked man forcefully barged through the entrance, violently shoving the shopping stroller backwards, causing Eun-kyung to lose her balance and tumble to the side. Undeterred by this unexpected setback, she quickly regained her footing, only to be confronted by the sight of the masked intruder menacingly brandishing a gun, waiving it haphazardly while issuing alarming threats to the terrified shoppers. Unfazed by fear, Eun-kyung's empathy and protective instincts surged forth, compelling her to swiftly approach the assailant from behind, launching herself in a daring tackle.

The momentum of her decisive action caused the gun to slip from his grasp, creating a momentary pause in his aggressive intentions. Swiftly capitalizing on this advantage, before he could regain his composure and retrieve the weapon, Eun-kyung retaliated with a resolute kick to his head, abruptly eliciting a pained groan.

However, the surge of elation brought on by the adrenaline was abruptly shattered by a bone-chilling voice that pierced the air from an unexpected source. "I strongly advise against making any sudden movements, unless you possess a penchant for experiencing a bullet penetrating your skull," the voice commanded, its ominous tone echoed by the distinct click of a firearm positioned menacingly behind her. In an instinctive response, she raised her trembling hands in a gesture of surrender.

Concurrently, the previously incapacitated, masked man had regained his composure and swiftly retrieved his weapon, gradually closing in on her with a malevolent gleam in his eyes. Without warning, he delivered a forceful slap across her face, causing her to stagger backward and collapse onto the unyielding ground.

As she attempted to regain her senses, a disorienting buzzing sound permeated her ears, further confounding her comprehension of the situation. Desperately endeavoring to alleviate the disorienting effect of the noise, she vigorously shook her head, only to be greeted by a females' voice emitting an unsettling tone.

"Get out of my body," the voice demanded, adding another layer of bewilderment and confusion to the already chaotic scene. Scanning her surroundings in a state of utter disarray, she found no one within close proximity, except for the foreboding presence of the masked man who had meted out the violent blow. Perplexed and on the brink of unraveling, she couldn't help but contemplate the perplexing circumstances surrounding her. "What in the world is going on?" she pondered, her mind poised on the cusp of both tumultuous confusion and gripping fear.
