Kapitel 31: Gaara of the Sand vs Suki Uchiha

"The fight between Gaara of Sunagakure and Suki Uchiha will begin on my word." The proctor announced. A few seconds passed before he spoke again. "Begin!" Immediately after, the proctor Shunshined out of the arena floor.

Sand seemed to shoot out from behind Gaara and towards Suki, who had already jumped backward when the fight began. As she landed, she placed her right palm onto her left shoulder while also activating her three tomoe sharingan.

"Release: Level 8!" Immediately after, she felt a large amount of 'weight' be taken off from her body before she blurred away, just as sand crashed down where she used to stand.

She had just touched the ground before blurring away once more, dodging spikes of sand that flew through the air.

As she landed, she quickly formed three clones of herself before swapping places with the clone, which turned out to be the right choice. The reason why is because a stream of sand had managed to grab the ankle of the clone she had switched with and crushed it, causing it to disperse and create a small explosion, revealing that she had made Flame Clones.

"Kaimon [1], release." Three voices echoed, allowing the three of them to move as fast as their bodies could go without any mental inhibiters.

With the first gate, the three of them could now move as fast as they could with their Sharingan activated, nearly getting rid of the delay they give.

The remaining two clones each used Blaze Claw to create two claws of flames before charging at Gaara.

The real Suki, however, stayed back and made three Shadow Clones before the clones quickly moved towards Gaara as well. The two fire clones were slashing and dodging the sand as best as they could. Unfortunately, a flurry of sand projectiles managed to strike one of them, causing it to create an explosion cloud.

The three shadow clones quickly went through signs needed for their attacks.

'Great Fireball Jutsu' was 'thought' twice before the last clone followed up with a different attack. 'Wind Style: Tornado Thrust.'

Two large fireballs were sent out from their mouths before being combined with the wind attack that made the fireballs slightly bigger while also making them move quicker. Gaara silently moved his sand in between him and the fireballs and blocked them, creating another explosion cloud.

Having seen him block it, the fire clone sprinted into the explosion cloud before another explosion went off, signaling that it either had taken too much damage or had activated the self destruct itself.

It took a moment before the cloud dispersed, revealing Gaara had about a half of a sphere around him which probably was used to block the explosion.

"Kyumon [2], release." Suki and her clones announced.

Suki, while not directly fighting him at the moment, will open every gate they do so that way if they get dispersed or Gaara goes after her directly, she could move just as fast as the clones were.

The three clones suddenly split off from each other before forming a triangle formation.

One of the clones pulled out ten kunai and another pulled out ten shuriken before throwing them and making signs.

'Kunai Shadow Clone Jutsu.'

'Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu.'

Each of the thrown projectiles seemed to suddenly multiply by ten, sending around two hundred projectiles at the red haired teen.

Once more though, his sand sprung up and protected him from all of the projectiles before he held his hand out, causing a stream of sand to surge forward towards the clone that threw the kunai. The clone jumped out of the way before it noticed the sand shifted before it managed to keep its momentum but changed its direction towards the clone that couldn't get out of the way.

It surrounded the clone before Gaara clenched his fist, causing it to contract before Suki felt memories from the clone return to her.

'The sand didn't have any delay in changing direction of a dime, meaning that if I get close, I can not lose track of it and need to anticipate where it would be.' Suki analyzed. 'I should also stay out of the air given that it can freely follow me.'

The clone that threw the shuriken reached down into its own weapon pouch before throwing a kunai with a seal attached to it.

It watched as the kunai and seal were surrounded by a ball of sand when it got too close. A second goes by before the ball seemed to expand about a fraction of an inch.

Despite the attack not working, the clone gained a smirk before dispelling itself and sending its memories back to Suki.

Once she gained the memories, she gained that smirk as well.

The reason why was because after her, newly named, Shrapnel Seal went off and caused the sand to expand slightly, the clone spotted the points of several kunai just barely sticking out from the sand ball.

'Since the Shrapnel seal managed to pierce the sand but the dual, wind enhanced fireballs did not, that means he can control the strength of the sand. Meaning that the sand doesn't have a set density and he needs more sand to increase his Sand Shield's strength.' She determined.

The last clone had just finished its own jutsu. 'Wind Style: Wind Blades.'

The clone shot out around a dozen blades of wind before a shield of sand appeared between Gaara and the attack. The clone watched as the blades impacted the shield and saw that the first few were cutting into the shield before noticing something thanks to her eyes.

The sand from the edges of the shield were moving towards the cuts and repairing them at a quick rate. Any damage done by a wind blade, half of it was already fixed before the next one struck. That is, until after the sixth blade. The cuts were starting to add up and were leaving deeper marks every time. That is, until the sand that was being used to fixed it suddenly sped up and began fixing the damage a wind blade did until it was completely fixed by the time the next blade struck.

So, to anyone watching, it seemed as if the blades weren't even leaving a scratch on his sand.

"Seimon [3], release." Two voices declared before both of their skin turned a slight pink.

The clone vanished before appearing next to Gaara with her leg going towards his side and about to strike him until she was just blocked by the sand. Instead of staying there and getting entangled in sand, the clone vanished again, this time appearing in front of him with her arm pulled back, ready to throw a punch at Gaara's face.

While she was blocked by the sand once more, she managed to catch a look at Gaara's face. His usual annoyed eyes were slightly wider and there was a tenseness about his face.

Gaara had just truly realized that his opponent seemed to be exactly like that boy who he hadn't been able to kill. Suki is just as fast, possibly faster, than the boy who managed to bypass his Sand Shield.

The clone kept vanishing and striking at Gaara's shield, vanishing just before the area she used to be was lashed out with his sand, reappearing, striking, repeat.

However, while this seemed to fit the definition of insanity where she was doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, something else was happening.

The clone had decided to stick to kicking and some of her kicks were actually starting to leave burn marks upon impact with the sand.

The vanishing attacks started to pick up speed before suddenly stopping in front of Gaara once more, except with something different.

The clone stood on one leg, preparing to slam the bottom of their raised leg into Gaara's chest. Except that the leg she prepared to kick was on fire from the bottom of her foot to the top of her ankle.

"Flaming Whirlwind!"

The leg blasted forward and right before it struck the shield, the fire seemed to explode outward, releasing a large amount of pressure behind the foot.

Using the additional force from the pressure, the foot slammed into the shield, breaking through it.

Just before it would have struck, the clone dispersed, revealing that it was stabbed from about five different angles, each in places that would have been instantly fatal.

Suki rolled her neck, releasing a loud popping noise. 'Alright, I have all the information I need. I either need to use the Chidori, use the violet fire to create a lot of force and break my way through, or use the Violet Claw to easily cut through said shield.'

"Shoman [4], release."

Sand instantly appeared around Gaara, recognizing that this was when Lee got too fast for him.

"Seal Release: All." With that, any extra weight, despite not being much, she felt disappeared.

Suki gathered fire chakra to her hands before the fire became dark violet, surprising and causing people in the audience to mutter.

Suki vanished before reappearing and placed her hand on the sand before moving away and dodging a tendril of sand.

She formed quick signs before taking a deep breath.

'Fire Style: Violet Dragon Jutsu!'

She breathed out a large amount of fire that circled around her before stopping at a height of around three times her height. The jutsu looked similar to the Water Dragon Jutsu but was made of violet fire.

The dragon suddenly lunged forward and shot towards Gaara.

He made a large sand shield before the dragon slammed into it, actually causing Gaara and his shield to be forced sliding backwards.

Suki appeared behind him before slamming her fists forward, into another quick shield before the violet flames exploded, covering both of them in a large explosion cloud.

A moment passed before Suki jumped out of the smoke, being chased by a sand tendril that began to split up into multiple paths to trap her.

'Fire Style: Dragon's Breath Jutsu!'

She streamed a stream of violet fire from her mouth at intervals to intercept the sand tendrils.

Suki suddenly vanished before appearing across from Gaara.

"So, you can't control glass huh?"

Due to using her violet flames, the temperature reached such a high amount, the sand was quickly being turned to glass when it came in contact with it, meaning that there was a fair amount of glass in the arena now.

Gaara suddenly looked in pain before placing a hand on his head.

Suki's smirk quickly dropped as she grew more serious, especially since she could feel her muscles starting to ache.

She contemplated on going to her last gate before realizing her position.

She could stop Gaara from transforming.

Either way, he needed to be stopped now before it continued.

"Tomon [5], release!"

With that, her skin became very reddish-pink and her hair had come out of her hair tie, causing it to float upwards. No one could see her pupils or irises now as they were replaced/blocked by the chakra, causing them to look largely white. Except, since her sharingan was active, people could just make out a faint pink circle in her eyes where her sharingan was.

Truly deciding that it was time to finish the fight, Suki even activated her MS so that nothing could catch her by surprise.

All of these factors made her taijutsu [power, speed, reaction speed, etc] Elite Jonin-ANBU level at minimum.

Suki vanished to everyone who wasn't a High Jonin or above this time. She slammed a palm into Gaara's chest, surprising him and sending him flying. Vanishing again, she followed up with a side kick, sending him flying again.

The match turned into an almost replica of the end of Lee's fight, with Suki knocking Gaara around too fast before suddenly stopping the attack.

She kicked Gaara up into the air before reappearing above him.

Suki pulled back her fist before she condensed a large amount of bright violet flames onto her fist as she snarled due to the pain her body felt. It felt like her body was burning.

"Amaterasu's Wrath!" She yelled out.

While not actually using Amaterasu, as the jutsu intended, she substituted it with a large amount of fire.

She boomed her fist towards Gaara, who had managed to make another shield, no doubt as strong as he could at the moment.

Not that it mattered.

Even before her fist would have struck the shield, the sand was already starting to melt into glass. When she did strike it, her fist destroyed the glass she made contact with before impacting Gaara.

Gaara shot out of his shield and slammed into the arena's floor, making large cracks.

Gaara's shield also started falling.

Made completely out of glass.

It shattered as it hit the ground. It wasn't too loud but it sounded like a bomb due to how quiet the arena was.

Suki landed with a huff, using all of her concentration to watch Gaara in case he wasn't out, because she had too.

Suki realized that if she closes the gates, she will reach the third gate at best due to how strained her body feels, or no gates at worst.

She knows she's fast, that's her whole thing [along side her fire], but she's not willing to bet her tired body against Gaara's sand, since one mistake could cost her her life or a limb.

Unfortunately, she couldn't hold it too much longer before she forced the gates closed once more.

Her skin and eyes turned back to normal [still MS]. Her hair now hung about halfway to her waist with nothing holding it up and a few strands were in her face.

She held back a groan.

The proctor appeared once more before looking at Gaara, who looked knocked out since his sand armor was largely gone, him dropping it when he realized that she could turn it to glass.

The proctor checked him over before starting to speak.

"The winner of this match is Suki-" He started.

Only at that moment, did things start to go bad.

Suki saw feathers start to drop from the sky, along side Gaara's body start to turn more sand like.

'This is why I didn't want to use Tomon just yet.' She thought with a frown as explosions started going off, her eyes never straying from a large amount of sand starting to cover Gaara. 'Looks like I'll need that trump card after all.'
