Kapitel 1: Chapter 1: I'm Not a Hero
'It all started when I was child... Just only at the age of ten, I was able to see just how cruel and unjust the world could be, to those who think differently from others'
'I met a girl named Iblisse, she was only 3 years younger than me at the time, but even then I truly considered her as my one and only true friend in this god forsaken earth'
'We we're alone, no one was willing to take care of us, no one loved us, no one helped us'
'As such we stole food to survive, we did what we could to live in this hellhole we call a home'
'We we're content with just living...'
'As long as we had each other...'
'We would be happy'
(Ten years later)
*Bang*
Gunshots started ringing towards a dark corridor of a building in the dead of night.
"Aesc! You bastard! Don't think you would get away with killing the Boss!"
'Tch'
A man with black hair and sky blue eyes who was hiding at corner of the corridor then snickered at the comment is former co-worker before taking out a flash bang from his waist belt and throwing it towards the perpetrator.
Seeing the flashbang going towards him the henchman instinctively shot the flash grenade at incredible accuracy causing it to explode mid flight.
*Boom*
'Now's my chance!'
Aesc immediately removed a Barreta M9 holster from his holster and quickly got out of cover and opened fire.
*BANG!*
'!!!'
Just as he was about to counterattack his co-worker was efficiently more faster than he could had anticipated, his pistol was immediately got shot out of his hands, leaving him defenseless.
"Uh ah ah"
A middle aged man with yellow hair, with a knife scar on his lip, wagged his finger towards Aesc.
"We can't have that now can we Aesc..."
The man then coldly pointed his pistol towards Aesc's forehead.
"This is for the boss..."
*Bang*
Just as the man fired his gun Aesc immediately ran towards the middle aged man and then started focusing all of his instincts in predicting where he would fire next.
In Aesc's perspective time seems to slow down significantly, as he was able to notice every muscle fiber contracting from his co-workers body, like the twitches of his eyebrows and the movements of his lips and his sudden show of surprise emanating from his co-workers brown eyes.
'Head'
*Swish*
Aesc moved his head side causing the bullet to barely hit cheek.
'Left shoulder'
*Bang!*
*Swish*
'Upper torso'
*Bang*
*Swish*
One by one each of the middle aged man's bullets inadvertently missed Aesc's now heavily approaching figure.
"You got guts kid!"
The middle aged man shouted at the approaching figure before firing another bullet towards him but again it missed just inches away from him.
*Click-Click*
Hearing the sound of his gun running out of ammo, Aesc saw an opportunity, he grabbed a string of steel wire from his belt and quickly flinged it towards the middle aged man's pistol before forcibly yanking it behind him.
*Swoosh*
*Clank*
Seeing the pistol now currently behind Aesc's back, the middle aged man smirked amusingly before taking out an army knife from his pocket.
"You're still using your steel wires Aesc?"
Aesc silently looked at the middle aged man with indifference before taking out a double edged dagger from his hip and quickly ran towards him.
*Clang*
*Clang*
One by one each of them started to have a contest of strength and dexterity the current winning side is Aesc.
'Stab in the abdomen'
*Smack*
'Cut on the neck'
*Clang*
'Laceration in the hip'
*Slash*
'!'
Aesc winched in pain from not being to evade the slash that was aimed at his hip before looking coldy at the middle aged man.
'Grabbing with cord of steel wire, Aesc then started incorporating it in there clashes and and fight
Seeing that Aesc was no longer holding back the middle aged man then fought more erratically.
*Swoosh*
A cord of wire then started to intertwine with his right arm.
'!!!'
The middle aged man immediately yanked the wire with all of his might so that his arm wouldn't be immobilized, but however this was Aesc's plan all along.
Using the help of the middle aged man's pull Aesc was then to flip just above him and quickly strung a steel wire towards the man's neck.
*Gasp*
Landing perfectly behind him, Aesc then quickly tightened the grip of his wire.
The middle aged man then started gasping for air and clawing his neck to stop it from further squeezing his airway but his actions were unable to stop it from suffocating him.
"ahh-ahh!!"
Seeing the middle-aged man still continuing to struggle Aesc then started tightening the wire again, causing blood to ooze out his gloves.
"..."
After a minute of silently waiting Aesc was able to see the middle aged man finally stop his struggling and quickly untangled his steel wire from his neck and arm.
'Daril...'
Aesc mentally said the middle aged man's name before kicking his now purple face in pity and quickly left the area.
"Iblisse..."
Muttering once again the same name and proceeding towards a room he found a white haired female, who was around seventeen years old wearing black clothes that concealed her skin laying on the wall holding her stomach.
While she didn't seemed to see Aesc at first because of the darkness as such she quickly lowered her pistol and greeted him with a pained expression.
"Uhhh...Aesc!?"
"We have to get out of here! Gerald betrayed us!"
Aesc quickly informed Iblisse and quickly reached out his hand out towards her but all of a sudden he felt a sharp sting from his heart.
*Bang*
The sound of a gunshot was heard as Aesc landed on top of Iblisse.
"Aesc?"
Iblisse worriedly called out for Aesc who was now currently lying on top of her.
"Aesc? Are you there?!"
*Cough*
*Cough*
"Iblisse..."
Coughing out a mouthful of blood Aesc then worriedly looked at Iblisse's beautiful grey eyes who was now was tearfully looking at his sky blue eyes.
"I'm here! I'm here! Aesc!"
Iblisse quickly shouted at him but he no longer uttered a singular sentence, before finally she was able to see the light in his eyes started to fade bit by bit until there was nothing left.
"Aesc?"
"Aesc?!"
"Aesc!!"
Iblisse started shouting Aesc's name begging for him to respond but after a minute of waiting she wasn't able to hear his call and assuring voice.
"..."
Tears then started to silently flow from her grey eyes before hugging his body with all her remaining strength.
*Step*
*Step*
A sound of footsteps started permeating the room causing Iblisse to focus on where the sound is coming from.
*Knock-knock*
A black haired widdle-aged man with a stern face wearing a grey striped business suit gently knocked on the opened door while holding a pistol on his right hand.
"Sorry to intrude, Iblisse"
Seeing the face of the man Iblisse immediately shouted in rage
"Gerald!"
Iblisse immediately picked up her pistol from her side and quickly aimed it Gerald.

Hearing the audible clicking of the pistol, Gerald sighed in relief before quietly chuckling at his luck.
"Holy shit, you almost scared me, Iblisse... Lucky for me your gun no longer has any bullets"
*Click-Click*

Hearing the continuous clicking Gerald started to get annoyed and calmly walked towards Aesc who currently on top of Iblisse and quickly kicked him off.
"Aesc! You bastard!"
*Click-Click*

Seeing her desperate attempt of killing him, Gerald almost pittied her current situation.
*Slap*
Slapping away the pistol from Iblisse hand's Gerald then quietly made his towards her pocket and took out a small envelope with the title experimental written behind it.
Seeing the envelope, Gerald smirked and opened it in anticipation.
"!"
Gerald surprisingly looked at the empty envelope before angrily punching Iblisse in the face.
"Bitch! where is the Ether Dose?!"
Iblisse silently looked at Gerald with her now lifeless eyes and immediately spit on his face.
"You Whore! Do you understand how much that singular dose cost?! It could power entire precinct for the next 1,000 years!"
Gerald immediately stepped on Iblisse's right leg causing her to wince in pain before finally smirking at Gerald's face.
"Only Aesc, knows where the Ether dose is located Gerald"
*Spit*
Iblisse then spat out a broken tooth unto the floor and continued
"I wonder how would your backers feel that not only did you lose the commissioned item but you also killed the family head of the Yoru clan?"
Iblisse then started to laugh maniacally at Gerald future misfortunes.
"BITCH SHIT UP!"
Gerald immediately stepped at her bleeding stomach causing her to stop talking.
"FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!"
In a fit of rage Gerald then started kicking Iblisse stomach as hard as he could until finally he calmed down.
*BAM*
*BAM*
*Bam*
*BAM*
*BAM*
*Sigh*
"I need a smoke..."
Feeling stressed Gerald then took a box of cigarettes from his pocket and quickly put one on his mouth before lighting and puffing at it.
*Sigh*
After a minute Gerald immediately stepped on the cigarette, and shouted at Iblisse.
"BITCH! YOU BETTER TELL WE WHERE YOU HIDDEN IT OR YOUR DEAD!"
"..."
Gerald then looked down at Iblisse who was silently resting at the wall and his heart started to raise.
"Oy Oy Oy!"
"WAKE UP!"
Gerald immediately slapped her face to wake her up, but all he was met was a white haired woman who silently resting on wall no longer breathing.
"SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!"
"I have to get out of here before the Ilumi Foundation finds me!"
Gerald quickly ran outside of the room while fearful of the organization that facilitates almost all ether related incidents.
After a minute of Gerald leaving the room a group of soldiers armed with hightech equipment from up and down started surveying the area.
"Three Targets Confirmed Dead"
"Gerald Hotwins Death Confirmed"
"Iblisse Reyrin Death Confirmed"
"Aesc Reyrin Death Confirmed"
"Mission Complete, requesting extraction of memory for Ether dose location"
"Confirmed"
"Affirmative"
One by one each of the soldiers started to inject a syringe like object the size of a gun at each of Iblisse and Aesc's foreheads before finally nodding to each other.
"Location of the Ether dose extracted, requesting removal of evidence"
"Confirmed"
One of the soldier's then took out an incendiary grenade from his waist and quickly threw it towards the room where Iblisse and Aesc's corpse's are laying before nonchalantly leaving.
*BOOM*

Somewhere in the vast expanse of space, Aesc then curiously opened his eyes to see absolutely nothing.
"So this is the afterlife huh?"
Aesc then started tapping his chest and felt that his heart was still intact before recalling the events that happened just moments ago.
"We were commissioned by an anonymous group named 'The Hand' for the acquisition of a presumed ether dose sample in one of the Kuro Clan's buildings"
"I was skeptical at first but the pay was over a billion runes if we got the item... They even gave us a deposit of over 300 million runes it would be enough for both me and Iblisse to live a life of luxury for the next 60 years"
"We shouldn't had taken the job... But Gerald our Information Broker kept on insisting that we take it"
*Sigh*
"If only I can strangle that greedy bastard right about now..."
"..."
"I hope Iblisse got out safe..."
I worriedly thought before suddenly, I felt time and space suddenly warp besides me.
'?'
After a minute of waiting the sensation disappeared before suddenly I was bombarded by a loud shout in the dark void.
"AESC!"
My heart jumped in anticipation and I quickly shouted in response.
"IBLISSE! IS THAT YOU?"
Hearing the familiar calm and distinct voice Iblisse immediately shouted back, while frantically looking around her dark surroundings expecting to see Aesc, but all she saw in her eyes is just an all encompasssing darkness.
"AESC! WHERE ARE YOU!"
"I'm here! Iblisse! It's okay!"
Hearing the assuring voice of Aesc, Iblisse finally started calming down and started search for him again but to no vail she wasn't able to see his figure
"How am I sure that you're the real Aesc?"
Knowing her antics, Aesc couldn't help but sigh to himself before telling her most precious secret.
"You're most favorite anime character is Satoru Gojo because his eyes kinda reminds you of mine and one time when we were fourteen years old while in a commission of killing a local gang member you accidentally ate a fly while trying to shoot the guy in the butt and also one time you forgot to delete your browser-"
"Okay! okay! Aesc! Stop it!"
Iblisse immediately stopped Aesc from resurfacing embarrassing memories of there
lives before verbally crying.
"You asshole! I thought we were going to be separated forever! When you got shot I don't know what I was going to do!"
Hearing her crying, Aesc frowned for a moment.
"I'm sorry Iblisse, I should've been more careful..."
*Sniff*
"You better be! Because if you don't I will kill you my self!"
"Oy! You can't kill me twice that's unfair!"
"Hump, then you better stay alive then!"
*Sigh*
"Okay, fine then!"
"..."
"..."
After there quarrel, Aesc and Iblisse silently took in there surroundings.
"So where did you hide the Ether Dose anyway?"
"I threw it at the south port..."
"Haa?? You threw it at the river wouldn't that contaminate the fishes?!"
"Ah don't worry about it... Not unless a fish eats it or something they won't get contaminated..."
"I think?"
Iblisse immediately facepalmed at her brother's stupidity
"Aesc, didn't anyone tell you that your a bit of a idiot sometimes?"
"You, your literally the only one that tells me I'm an idiot..."
"Hmph"
*Sigh*
"Well it's not like they will suddenly turn into Kaiju's who will want to destroy the human race right?"
"..."
Iblisse then started giving Aesc the silent treatment all over again.
"Oy!"
