Kapitel 3: MY misfortune
After the burial of my parents or should I say celebration because what I saw that day wasn't a burial but a celebration , I thought burial is meant for grieving not celebrating and with few people who are closely related to the family but I was shocked on that day on how overcrowded our compound is , both invited and uninvited people came to the burial.
I remembered once in Canada ,when my dad took me to his close friend's father's funeral, I remember vividly that it was only the family members and friends that are present in the funeral but here look at what I see.
To make matters worst, my uncle and his wife Lucy were busy spending my parents money by spending more expenses which they can't afford in the name of claiming that they are rich which they are not
Who does that ?
So as I was saying after the funeral , I was busy thinking about my life while walking around the Maison ( house) ,I overheard my uncle's discussion with his wife
" I hope you are not taking that half cast with us back to Canada ? " Lucy said starting the discussion
" of course " my uncle answered and I was calmed were I was ear dropping to their discussion
" what!!!!!! ,what for ? " she asked again
" because is his father's property and besides it was written in the Will that we should take over the property after he reaches eighteen we will hand it over to him" he answered calming my soul
" No no no, this can't be happening , hasn't he eaten enough from the golden spoon is our turn to continue from where he stop" she said sobbing slightly
can you imagine,in my parents owned property
please who knows this woman?
she is ruining my life.
" there is nothing I can do honey so stop crying ,we must take him,unless the elders won't let us be" Uncle John said to console his wife
" who are the elders ? ,the elders we can easily bribe with money and tell them we will come back for him when he reaches eighteen ! " Lucy said rashly to her husband
" and why should we do that"
" because he has enjoyed enough ,he should suffer and learn what the world is talking about"
" okay, I agreed if that will make you happy" John agreed
" I love you so much" Lucy said happily which I know she hugged her husband
well this is how my country is full of pure jealousy and envy
And the major problem in my country is bribery and corruption, this is what is killing my country.
This was the beginning of my misfortune
I ran back inside my room with tears while wishing that I will escape from this predicament and the elders won't agree to their quest .
The next morning I heard a knock on the door waking me up from my slumber
"Joshua wake up,my dad says you should come down stairs at once" Joel said to me while still knocking at my door non stop
" what is it with you Joel ! " I shouted
" wake up sleeping beauty,you are still sleeping by this time,no wonder my mom normally calls you a half cast with a lazy attitude" he said rudely
" will you shut the fuck up , don't you know that I am your elder ,I used three years for cry out loud" I warned him opening the door
" using f word now right , well I don't give a shit if you are my elder or not ,just wait still my dad hears that you are using an f word in this house, don't you know is prohibited here, do you still think you are still in Canada, idiot" he said cautioned me and I was wondering were he got the courage from
" what did I do to you Joel"
" I don't know ask your self, come down stairs at once " he said and left
