Kapitel 117: Who am I?

"You made up the story, didn't you?" Ethan asked in a soft, deep voice. His eyes stared at Helena blankly. The wounds on Helena's back were burn marks and claw marks. "It was a wild animal. How could it have been me?"

Lord Gabriel stared at Ethan without blinking. His heart felt pained. It wasn't easy for Ethan to accept the truth that he had cruelly hurt Helena.

"Helena was injured by you," Lord Gabriel answered once again, "Do you think I'm joking?" he asked, his eyes filled with sorrow.

Ethan still couldn't accept Lord Gabriel's explanation. "How could I have done it?" Ethan asked again, his eyes now welling up with tears. He looked at his hands to make sure there were no dragon claws there.

"Did you think all this time that you were just an ordinary human who could be exchanged for a project to open the gate between cities?" Lord Gabriel asked, without taking his eyes off Ethan. His gaze was so sharp as if seeing into the depths of Ethan's soul.
