Zusammenfassung

Once upon a time.

There was a girl.

A girl engaged to the prince. Her bright smile could always light up the room, her loud laugh was infectious and- that girl was one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen.

For some reason she has always disliked me.

And I know why.

"Don't come near the crown prince, I'll pay you a handsome amount to be away from him." This girl hands me a pouch full of gold. "If you know what's best for you, you'll take the money."

She gives me that famous cold glare. The meanest girl in school was driving me off from her 'beloved' fiance.

I tried my best not to laugh at loud. Sure, I could use the money but I don't even want the crown prince so I considered this a double win.

Money and staying away from a love interest?

"Milady, I thank you for generous offer." I take the gold from her hands and left. I couldn't care much if I ruined the story, my plans were simple.

Only observe, stay away from any love interests and live my life peacefully till my golden years.

...

That all changed... on one fateful day.

I was cleaning one of the school storage rooms when I heard an awful crying. "Sniff...! Wah... I... don't get why he would suddenly cancel our engagement!"

"..." I saw that it was the villainess of the story, crying with snot all over her face.

I wanted to return the broom but it was clear it might only cause me trouble if I saw her in such a vulnerable state.

So... it seems their engagement has been annulled. This is not good.

I backed away from the storage room, only to hear even more horrible crying and heavy breathing.

"It hurts... why does crying hurts... sniff. I don't understand- I did everything he wanted... Why can't be just love me?"

I stopped from my tracks, hesitated and looked at the broom. Those words somehow hit close to home.

"...drats." I came back to the storage room and opened the door.

"...!"

"...are you alright?"
