44.11% The Villainess Is A Beast Tamer / Chapter 30: To Think Of The Future

Kapitel 30: To Think Of The Future

Did he really just claim the snake she was playing with to her venomous, not poisonous? She wasn't sure if she audibly gulped, but should she really he touching it, then? Looking at the little snake curling into her, she'd nearly think he was crazy for suggesting such a thing if she didn't know him.

She couldn't figure his true personality, one minute he's showing a little ounce of concern over her, and the next minute he was treating her like a science experiment. She originally planned to use him as well, but Isaac seemed set on killing him, something she likely wouldn't mind.

As the attendant returned with something suitable for her, she pondered in the back of her head as the Duke continued to work on something at the desk, the attendant now watching over and trying to feed her through the bottle. How long would she need to deal with the Duke?

At the moment her brother and Nyx were seven, and she were a few months. If Isaac were to kill the Duke now, he'd still not be eligible to inherit the title unless everyone else agreed, she'd knew the second wife would fight it. He's probably waiting for an opportune time, would she be able to help him when the time comes?

Most importantly, now that she's changed the plot of the original novel just briefly, will she be able to save Isaac and her mother? As soon as she got her sanctuary, she needed to train her magic to protect them just as they were protecting her now. Her plan to be a true villainess is so close, she already had a venomous creature in her hands.

There were never any huge monsters describe in the novel since it was mainly romance focused, but she didn't doubt they'd exist. She recalled the size of the mother snake and how she had basically cuddled a venomous monster, sweatdropping. She hoped her own hypothesis wasn't true, but knowing this family it would be.

The little snakes had bit at Isaac and Nyx, but they seemed unaffected. Could they already be immune to poison and venom? Would she also have to become immune by drinking it in order to raise the animals in her sanctuary? The thought of swallowing something that could kill her made her feel very uneasy, but it was the safest option and probably an unspoken rule of the Argyris family to swallow poisons to become immune.

Glancing at the snake, it looked at her with innocence that she couldn't be mad or fault it, but she was not going to enjoy the potential death. Or rather, she didn't trust the concept of this family knowing just how low of a dose to give her so she gets immunity while living. If anything, it was like the Duke's attendant who did anything regarding child care.

Finishing up her milk, the attendant burped her much to her own humiliation, trying to entertain her in his own way. "peek-a-boo!" he lifted his hands away from his face and smiled. Staring at him, she blinked a few times before giving a sympathy laugh.

"Not only does she look like you, she acts like you, too." He dramatically sighed, falling to his knees resting his head on the bed while watching her try and move around on the bed, a sorry excuse at crawling around.

Grunting, the Duke finished up his papers. "I don't crawl and slobber around, and I never have even as an infant." he rolled his eyes, throwing the papers at the man, walking out of the room with only a simple instruction.

"Do your job," after taking his leave, he pulled out his pipe and lit it, the words echoing at the back of his head. The king only asked for a single condition, to build a sanctuary to focus on her magic. He knew the king was attempting to prevent her from slipping into madness like the previous incident that occurred all those years back when he were a child, but something still was scratching at him.

The Argyris family would remain neutral in his rule, he had no need to intervene with politics so long as he was left to his own devices. However, he knew the bastard quite well. The sanctuary wasn't the only condition, he was sure that he wasn't going to somehow find a way to keep her under a very close watch.

If he tried to tie her through marriage, there was no way he could remain neutral, but the issue were the heirs. The first prince were much to old, while the second prince already had the backings of two dukes, and the king wanted the first prince to succeed him. The third prince likely wasn't an option either, a boy from a woman from unknown origins claiming he was the king's son.

For now as the king were at a stalemate, he didn't let it consume his mind too much. He only needed to think about the animals he would get her to raise. If used correctly, she could quite easily become the next head of household. Subconsciously grinning at the mere thought, he couldn't wait to see the generation of monsters he raised try to kill him.

Back with Theia, she was attempting to crawl around as the attendant watched over her, clapping every time she managed to make it a little bit before she fell over. She regretted taking walking for granted, especially now as a Duke's daughter. Just crawling from one pillow to another was painstaking, she couldn't imagine the mountain hike she'd have to go through every day until she got taller.

The estate was beyond large with the amount of wives and children, did anyone think this through? Does any rich person think of tiny people? Even in the castle the bed was much too large for her little legs.

Panting at her hard work, she looked at the pillow she started at from her position, slightly proud as she propped herself up. Clapping, she stared at the attendant who easily covered her distance in ten minutes with a few steps, fixing the cover she messed up.

She really understood why the Duke bullied him now, rubbing this in her face. "You're doing amazing, my lady." He smiled, completely oblivious to the slew of insults towards him in her head as she continued trying to crawl.
