Kapitel 12: 12 Another Man's Bed

Still in tears, she left giving the file to someone else to deliver it.

When it was closing period, Celine picked up her bag and left the company angrily. Eva who noticed her bad mood ran after her.

"What's the matter, Cel?" She asked worriedly.

Celine quickly dabbed her tears with her wrist and shook her head. "Nothing, Eva. Y..you don't have to worry."

"You're crying and you say everything's fine?"

"Come on, I'm fine. Taking the subway?"

Eva nodded but she wasn't convinced. "Yeah, let's go." She took her hand as they walked away but she couldn't stop wondering what was wrong with her friend.

They both sat at the subway station waiting for the bus to come. Celine didn't want to go to the house because she couldn't stay under the same roof with that deceptive husband of hers.

"Umm, Eva...can I spend the night at your place?"

Celine knew they just started their friendship and it was too early to ask for a thing like this. She just prayed that Eva would accept her request or she'd just spend the night on the streets.

"I have no problem with that. Were you crying because you had nowhere to stay? Come on, you should've told me!" Eva pouted, nudging her side.

When they got to Eva's house, she prepared a special meal to welcome Celine and Celine appreciated he kind gesture.

She had wanted to do the dishes but Eva insisted on doing it so Celine took her time to admire the house. It was so big and beautiful and everything showed that Eva came from a rich family.

But she wondered why Eva was working at Melanin Enterprise when she had rich parents and could just manage one of their businesses.

She moved to the gallery room where different pictures and photo frames were being hung on the wall. There was a particular picture of a woman who caught Celine's attention.

She furrowed her brows as she kept wondering why they look so alike. They even had the same hair and eye colour. This was strange…

Celine turned around when she noticed Eva's presence.

"Who's this?" She asked, pointing to the photo frame.

"That's my mom."

Celine gasped.

"Your mom?"

Eva nodded affirmatively. "Yes but she's late."

"So sorry about that."

"It's no problem."

Eva's gaze lingered on Celine and she could even notice the resemblance between Celine and her mother just like she had done on the Celine's first day at work.

But people do look alike, don't they?

"Tell me more about yourself, Eva. You're from a wealthy family, aren't you?" Celine washed when they got to the living room.

"Yes, Cel. I was born with a golden spoon in my mouth and my father own many conglomerates. I love to lay low and that's why I chose to work at the company." She explained.

"Oh wow, that's nice."

"Yeah, tell me about yourself too."

Celine knew her story was more pathetic than Eva's but she just had to tell her.

"I grew up in foster care and I don't even know my parents."

"Uh, really?"

Celine chuckled silently and gulped down the orange juice in her hand to suppress the awkwardness. "Yeah."

"And your foster parents, what about them?"

"I only have a foster mother and she's late, she died of cancer."

Tears were almost falling from Celine's eyes. The poor woman had done a lot for her and she felt guilty cause she didn't even get to pay her back for kindness.

"Our stories are similar, Celine. Don't you think so?"

"What do you mean, Eva?

"I lost my parents and even though I have a sister, I can't even find her."

"You have a sister?"

"It's a long story, buddy." Eva sighed.

Celine felt something was amiss, she felt there was still more she needed to know about herself but she couldn't figure it out.

Her life was just so full of mysteries and she couldn't sum it up.

Some minutes later, Celine retired to bed but she was unable to sleep and kept tossing left and right on the bed.

Eva came to check on here and she quickly pretended she was asleep as she didn't want to bother her. Eva put off the lights and after she left, Celine sat up.

She heard her phone ring but she ignored it when she saw it was Dominic's call.

"Liar!" She gritted her teeth.

Dominic paced his room, dialing her number many times but she didn't answer to his calls. He became worried. Where could his wife be?

He received a call from an unknown number and he quickly picked it up, thinking it was Celine.

"Baby.." Rosalie's voice sounded from the other end.

Dominic tightened his fists, his knuckles turning white. Didn't he block her number earlier?

"Why did you block my number, Dominic? I couldn't sleep without hearing your voice, so I had to call you with this number."

"Do you know you're so shameless, Rosalie? You still have the guts to call me after what you did earlier?" He hollered.

Rosalie shrugged and smiled, not feeling the least remorseful. "I don't regret it, Dom. I guess you loved it as I did."

"The next time you try that with me, I swear I'll do something you wouldn't like. Why don't you get the fact that I don't like you!"

"I'm not going to back off, Dominic. You and I are meant for each other." Rosalie mentioned.

"That is simply a lie, Rosa! You should stop imagining things, I am married and you should get that into your thick skull."

"Of course, your love is all I think about."

"This is no joke. Stop calling me and also do your best to stay away from me, okay?!"

Dominic hung up and he angrily smashed the phone over the wall but the next minute, he regretted it. He just had to call Celine again.

He picked up his other phone and texted her. At the other end, Celine received a message on her phone.

'Where are you, Celine? I'm damn worried, please come back home.'

She smirked. He must think she was a fool. Why should he be worried about her and not his mistress?

Dominic's eyes lit up when he saw her call. He picked it up instantly.

"Celine…"

"I'll appreciate if you don't call or text me, Dominic. How dare you lie that you love me?! I should have known you were a liar and a cheat from the start!"

He thought she had called to ask him to come pick her or something, but now she was yelling?

"I thought we talked this over, Celine. I told you the lady was just my childhood friend, there's nothing between us." He thought she was still angry about yesterday.

"She's your childhood friend and yet you feel comfortable kissing her?" Celine shot at him.

Dominic's brows widened in shock. She saw them? Shit! This was all Rosalie's fault, if only she could listen and leave him the hell alone!

"Believe me, Celine. I..I.. didn't kiss her, she was the one who did."

"Don't you dare lie to me, I saw you both. Well, for your information, I'm not coming back to the house anymore."

"W..what? Why? Celine, I'm sorry about everything. Just tell me where you are and I'll bring you home." He said.

Celine flared up. "Were you deaf when I said I'm not coming back? I'm somewhere else, with another man who knows my worth!" She said just to get him jealous.

Dominic went crazy when he heard this. He thought it was a sick joke or something until he heard her moan…

"Ohh baby….harder….!"

His pupils dilated in obvious shock. She was really in another man's bed?
