Kai expected Philip to return to their room upset, with a grumpy expression. He didn't mean to but he had overheard everything, using his hearing to eavesdrop on what they were talking about. He had been curious and worried at the same time, unable to stop himself so he just stood in the room, his ears open and listened. He would lie if he said that his heart didn't skip a beat when he heard Philip talk like that. He may not have wanted to be an Alpha but he was sure fitted to be one.
