"Don't worry, boss." Professor Rudolf Wagner regained his scholarly look and said to Zheng Ren seriously, "When I go on stage, just treat me like I'm an intern. If I don't do it right, you can slap me to death."

Zheng Ren looked at the professor and doubted that was what the professor really wanted.
