I stood in front of the window of my bedroom and stared into the forest that stretched beyond the garden. This sight usually had a calming effect, but now it was not working because Ash will be here today.

I checked the time. He was probably on the plane already. With every passing moment, my dejection grew.

Yes, I know, this is Ash's home also, but the idea of him being anywhere close to Zoe was driving me mad.
