Kapitel 48: Chapter 47: Zephyrus: A Rotten Scent

The bodies I gave them looked exactly like their appearance in the book. The marionettes seemed to have changed to fit Hel and Fenrir.

[Answer: Sympathetic skill can copy one's original facial features and skills.]

Do you mean that the Creature Skill copied Fenrir and Hel's magic and abilities?

[Answer: Yes]

What if they turn against me?

[Answer: Negative. A Sympathetic skill comes with a pre-measurement binding magic. If the summon tried to kill or hurt you, an anti-magic will activate just like what Fenrir went through]

Oh, I see!

Although the bodies were just replicas of their real bodies, I'm not sure if they don't have any defects. I inspect them carefully. The skin wasn't ripping, so that's a good sign. Although Fenrir's body was electrified, he didn't acquire any wounds.

When I turn towards Hel, I immediately close my eyes. She's a woman, after all.

"Boss, you don't have to close your eyes; my baby didn't make it. I'm actually sexless." He chuckled.

"Well, uhm," I cleared my throat.

"Is your body hurting or something?" I asked them.

"No." They answer in unison.

"That's good."

Knowing Fenrir and Hel's abilities, I knew they would keep me safe, perfect bodyguards.

Fenrir has blue hair, while Hel has red. Although they looked alike, I would say they were twins. My Creation skill copied exactly what they looked like in the book. Plus, Fenrir was not a wolf at all. In fact, he's so damn handsome, inferior to mine, which kind of sucks, and Hel, wow. She's super pretty!

But of course, we can't leave when they're naked, right?

The next thing I did was to create their outfit. Both of their outfits were made of leather and armor. For Fenrir, he has skin-tight leather jeans, and his upper was a tight turtleneck shirt with an armored vest. His outfit was designed to be comfortable as he moved. On the other hand, Hel has a hooded black cloak and a bulgy leather empire dress. The lower half was more dress-like leather, and the upper half of her clothing was made of armor. She has paddings to protect her in case.

These outfits were freaking gorgeous, and I felt like they would be a head-turner.

When I thought everything was ready, I made a speech for them.

"Listen up, you two," I said. "I decided to summon you because I need someone to protect me, for I can't use any of the skills I have. Instead of summoning a random dead creature, I choose you two. You cannot attack me; your body will prevent you from doing that. It has a self-detonating element that will explode when you try to kill me. I'm embarking on a new adventure. If you have some questions, ask."

"None for me, Boss," Hel said. "Your wish will be my command," she said.

"Fenrir?"

He looked at me disgusted, but I knew he could do nothing.

"I heard you," he replied.

"Good," I said, smiling. "I suppose trying to kill me will be futile, right?"

"Ugh, I said I heard you, hu-"

"Ahem."

"B-boss."

"You take orders from who?"

"You," they both answered.

Perfect!

I decided to rename them since I didn't want some unwanted attention.

"Your names will be Ace and Violet."

"What?" Fenrir was once again the first to react.

"I don't want any unwanted attention, Fenrir. To avoid that, I have to change your names. Yours would be Ace, and Hel would be Violet".

"You!"

"Fine with me, master. I like the name you gave me," Hel said, tapping her brother's shoulder. "Calm down, brother. We should be grateful that he named us something. If we want to avenge our death from that someone, we need a new name. Perhaps a new body and identity would help us, yes?"

Fenrir heaved a sigh.

Who exactly killed them? For someone who can do that, that person must have been stronger than them.

"What the actual shit happened while I was away?" A voice boomed out of nowhere.

We all turned around and saw Leland wearing a set of clothes and a black messenger bag.

"Am I missing things? Who are you two people? Where have you been all along?"

"Leland, dude, calm down. These are Fenrir and Hel." I introduce my new guards to my cook.

"Fen-what!?"

Leland's eyes widened.

"Are you kidding me!? Where did they come from!? Fenrir, the berserker? And Hel, Legendary Necromancer?"

"Huh? Do you know them?"

"Who wouldn't, Boss? These two were ancient Calamities. They fought neck to neck with the Seven Sovereigns. I thought they were dead."

"Oh, so are you one of those imbeciles' followers?" Fenrir crossed his arms and looked at poor Leland.

"Who are you calling Imbeciles? My master Caelum is one of the strongest. He protected us from evil creatures like you," Leland said and then looked at me. "Boss, quick! Let's go. These calamities will betray you like what they did to-"

"Hold it, wolf," Hel finally spoke up.

"I'm a lion!"

"Whatever, but do you know what's actually coming out of your mouth? I mean, as long as I could still remember, your highly praised Dragon Sovereignty were the ones who turned their back to their fellow continental beings during the Great drought and war of Orion."

"W-what are you talking about? What are you-"

"It's an ancient war, Kid," Fenrir replied. "The war that would have made it impossible for you to be alive."

"Huh?

"Oi, everyone. Stop bickering, alright? Leland, they are our bodyguards. Don't call them Fenrir and Hel because I gave them a name. It's Red for Fenrir and Violet for Hel," I said, then I turned to the twins. "This is Leland, my commissioner's baby brother and our group's chef. You guys need to get along. We need to stick together, you hear me?"

Leland rolled his eyes while the two nodded.

"Yes, Boss!"

"And we're leaving in an hour; go find something we can use on our way!"

We were prepared to go outside with everything ready, and it was time to see what this nation could offer!

So far, so good.

We've been walking for a while and still haven't encountered any enemies.

This is good.

If this keeps up, we'll be able to find a town.

We were currently walking through a rocky plain and haven't found any towns or villages yet. How long are we going to keep walking?

It's good that I have maxed-out stamina, but it still gets boring and mentally tiring. I wonder how Fenrir and Hel were doing.

I took a look at them, and they appear to be fine. Since they were Manuqeinne, they didn't get tired or bored and just looked the same.

I didn't know how long we were walking, but after a while, we were in the grassland. I saw a sign, so I took a look at it.

It appears that we are now in Whispering Meadow. The nearest town was about eight miles from here, and there were some villages along the way.

Once we get to a village, I'll ask around to see what kind of information I can get. I can't travel without knowing what to expect.

"When was the last time you actually went outside, Leland?" I asked Leland while we were walking.

"I never left the manor even after the war, Boss. I was stuck there even before the Dragon decided to reside in the ruins," Leland replied.

"You were stuck in there for years?"

"Hundred years, I think, Boss."

"Woah, that's too long. How did you manage to survive?"

"Barely managed. The Dragon had chased me, for I can't remember. The last time, he decided to burn what was left of my things, including my food."

Oh, Figures, since he's not a magic user.

"This smell."

Fenrir sniffed around.

"It smells like death," he added.

"I smell it, too. It's not the same as when we first came to this nation," Hel seconded.

"How do you guys know?"

I asked them for closure. Leland and the twins bickered a few hours ago; I wonder if they visited this place.

"It's the same scent as when that evil bastard was alive. It's the same scent, Boss," Hel answered. "We came here to negotiate with Caelum. The place smells so nice, like flowers and some sweet-smelling fruits. That's what we remember, and it's quite different now."

"You're about two centuries dead, so you don't know what happened. Caelum died protecting us against the invading human knights. But sadly, my Lord was defeated, and those in power were humans of royal blood and a knight Archon."

"It's like something that happened in the past is happening right now; I could tell by just the same familiar rotten stench of scent."
