However, Firdaus didn't want to speak to Jags at all. Vijay and Linda almost frog-marched him to Jags' room.

"I'll see her later, let her rest," Firdaus protested.

"She is awake and asking for you," Linda said, and pushed him into the room.

Jags smiled brightly when she saw her husband enter.

"Hey," she said softly. "How are you doing?"

Firdaus stared at her, disbelieving. "You are the one that got shot, and you are asking me how I am?" he asked her incredulously.

Jags laughed. "It was just a scratch, darling. I know what I was doing. All that training you had to pay for, remember?" She held out her uninjured arm and he took it, trembling slightly.

"Oh, come here, you," Jags said, and pulled her husband into an embrace.

"I am fine, see?" she told him, holding him close and willing his shivers away, but in vain. "I am all right, darling, this is barely more than a kitchen injury."

"What if it is not the next time?" Firdaus asked brokenly.
