The Thirian's soldiers escape for their lives after what they have witnessed. The explosion was a sign of an Arch Mage amongst the Empire's men, what's worse, there's a Twilight Wolf which they could barely kill. So who, were they to challenge and go against them.
As she watches the men flee, it bothers her greatly as to why she continues to have this omen-like feeling which she couldn't explain at all. 'Why do I feel like something doesn't add up here.'
"Fuji!" She commanded, seeing it was chasing after the soldiers who were fleeing.
Seeing that she called back the pup caught Lirius attention as he asked, "You, you're letting them go?"
Athena patted and praised Fuji for doing a good job. He then turned back to Lirius and answered his question, "This isn't my war, I don't even know why I got involved in the first place."
Indeed, it wasn't her war, so why did she get involved. It also bothers Lirius from the start why she suddenly went off and helped the people she hated the most. How much Lirius wanted to curse and scold the girl, 'Darn it, if this wasn't your war, why did you run off in the first place without even giving me a warning. I-I almost had a heart attacking thinking something terrible might happen to you. Good thing Fuji was there.' He thought as he looked at the pup who looked at him proudly for what he had just achieved, 'Yeah, yeah, you did well.'
Still, if things didn't work out, he might have done what he did in the first place and just blew everything away to avoid anything happening to the girl. But, since he was too shocked from what happened his brain wasn't able to function right away.
'I better get used to this.' He sighs as he needs to mentally train himself that the girl will suddenly ran off without cause or warning.
"Let's head back." Athena said, seeing there aren't any more soldiers after them.
"Let's go." Lirius said as grab the girl's hoodie and placed it back on.
"Thank you."
When they returned to the camp, it didn't surprise them that the soldier's situation was worse. However, the only difference this time was the fact most of the soldiers were paying attention to them this time.
"Who do you think they are?"
"Did they create the explosion earlier?"
"They have a Twilight Wolf with them."
Their every move were being observed by the soldiers as they were all curious as to what they'll be doing next.
Since they both hide their faces through their hooded cloak, none of them were able to see their true identity.
Suddenly..
"Quickly, get the healer!"
A group of healers arrived after receiving such a distress call. Some of them were trembling at the sight of the man who was badly wounded. His pain was their pain and seeing him in such a state brought each in despair.
"Commander."
"Lieutenant, please calm down."
Each healer tried their best to heal the man, but none of them had enough energy to even heal and close up his wounds. Despite everyone's efforts, they could only manage to close his wounds and not even restore the wound inside him.
One of the healers who was assigned as the leader of the group looked at the young man. His face bears the expression of utter hopelessness as he tried to speak, "Lieutenant-"
"Get lost, all of you!" The young lieutenant pushed the healer aside as he did not want to hear what he had to say. "Father, please, don't give up…"
His tears brought life to the old man as he felt the warm tears touch his face, he looked at his son's ridiculous expression and said, "Silly boy, you're a lieutenant yet here you are crying like a child."
The commander reached his hand and caressed the young man's face. It's been a while since he saw his son cry like a child. Oh, how he wishes he could tell his wife about it, but, he could sense he barely has the time to even say his farewells.
Athena was curious of what was happening and watched from the sideline, "It seems the commander is badly wounded."
"Hmm, I can barely sense his mana." He stated as he examined the commander's situation through magic.
"He's dying then."
"Hmm, by the look of it, if his body cannot be restored and his mana doesn't recover, then… He will die."
Athena didn't show any sign of remorse or anything, she doesn't know the person and didn't even want to bother getting involved again. However, as they were about to turn their backs on them. A strange force was preventing her from leaving and if she does leave, she'll be regretting it.
"Let's go."
And at that moment, as she made her first step to leave, the corner of her eyes noticed something which caused her to be motionless.
"Impossible."
Her body turned around to get a clear view of what she just saw. When she noticed the familiar emblem on the commander's uniform, her face paled.
'A Rosenburg crest. What the heck is a member of the Rosenburg family doing here? Weren't they supposed to be with my parents?' Athena's mind was all muddled as she suddenly felt a stinging headache. She could only think of one person as to why a member of the Rosenburg was in such a place. 'Damn it! What is going on…'
The girl hurriedly pushed herself through the crowd as she went closer.
"Move!"
The young lieutenant noticed what was happening and turned to the person, "You- who are you?"
Athena ignored him for she had pressing matters that needed her attention first.
"What are you doing?" It furiate the young lieutenant for the girl was not answering him at all.
"Move aside." She commanded sternly as the man turned tongue tied and couldn't even move.
The young lieutenant got up and did what he was told. He could sense the strong mana from the person and realize that the person was someone not to be trifled with.
Athena removed her gloves as she started focusing her energy towards the commander.
The commander felt a strange hand on him as he slowly opened his eyes. "Who are-" However, he barely had the energy to even keep them open.
Soon, Luminuex appeared everywhere. As they all gathered in the girl's hand, she then transferred it and pressed it into the commander's chest. Just like what happened to all the people she has healed, in a litte while the bright light covered the commander's entire body.
What was happening brought such bewilderment to those who do not know her. The amount of Luminuex just out of the ordinary. And in a blink, the commanders deep wounds and mana were restored.
"Commander." One of the healers said as he could sense his mana again.
"Lieutenant the commander is fine."
As soon as she finished her task, she got up and walked away.
"Wait-" The young lieutenant called for her, but she once again ignored him and left without a single word.
Athena walked towards Lirius as she whispered something in his ears.
Everyone watches them and is curious as to what they could be talking about. But only to see them walking away without even thanking them and knowing who they were.
However, Lirius did not leave at once as he went to the young lieutenant. He grabbed something out of his bag and handed it to him. "Once he wakes up, give this to him."
The young lieutenant looked curiously at the bottle that was handed to him, "What is this?"
He clicked his tongue annoyed that the boy even questioned him, "don't ask and just give it to him." He said as he walked away and didn't even bother explaining things further leaving everyone wondering what the purpose of the bottle is.
The young lieutenant looked at the bottle as he sought help from the healers. "What do you think this is?"
"We don't know."
"Seeing they came to help, it's best we follow them."
"I'm sure what they gave you will help the commander."
"You think so?" The young lieutenant ponders on what they were saying as he watches the vial seriously. It was the first he saw such potion or elixir and the fact he doesn't know what its purpose is worrying him.
