Why did everyone believe they could take advantage of me this way? What about my tall stature and long limbs made me appear to be an easy target?

I snatched the wrist of the hand covering my mouth and twisted sharply. A burning, masculine hiss sounded from behind me, and while they were distracted with their pain, I jabbed my elbow harshly into their stomach, satisfied with the stumbling air coming from my attempted kidnapper. 

Whoever they were had likely expected me to run. I would not. I'd had enough running this past week, and now I was willing to risk my safety to demand answers for the world of questions developing in my brain, stretching it constantly to the point of pain. 

I would interrogate even this supposed rogue who'd come after me. 

I whipped around, my sleeves swiping across their gaze, and I pushed them firmly against the logged side of the inn building, crowding them with my forearm against their neck.
