The car stopped in front of my fence. I needed to look ahead, look through the windshield to make sure Grandma didn't see me coming home with Jace. The room was dark, meaning he was asleep. Without bothering to say thank you, I opened the car door, leaving Jace inside. The situation around my house looks deserted. But I saw Kyler not far from the fence, watching me without saying anything. I knew he wouldn't tell Grandma about this. Cut my head off my hea if he dared to complain.
As I started to walk inside, Jace emerged from his car, making my pupils dilate. Was he crazy? Did he dare to reveal himself in this territory? And… hell, why did I care and worry that he would be killed by Carter because he was still in touch with me.
In the speed of seconds, he rushed over to me, then landed a kiss on my forehead which spontaneously made my legs freeze.
"Part of the game," he whispered in my ear. I replied with my eyes rolled up.
