Elin watched the carriage as it moved toward the palace, a hint of surprise in her eyes. 

Although most of the runes inscribed on the carriage were hidden from view, she could sense an aura of malevolence emanating from it, even more sinister than that of the undead. The fact that a carriage that looked like it had a demon lord hidden inside belonged to the royal elves raised questions.

Could it be that the elven royalty had forged an alliance with the likes of the undead? 

Playing such a dangerous game?

Elin blinked and found herself curious about this turn of events.

After all, she was on her way to meet the current Elf Queen, so she might as well see what was going on.

Just as Elin was contemplating this, her body suddenly froze, and she looked back in astonishment at the slowly departing carriage.
