Kapitel 27: Stain and Gospel
Bebe and Shay ran as they could hear more yelling followed by an explosion. The two fell on their feet as their ears were ringing due to the explosion. The two groaned as they both looked up. They gasped as they realized everyone was on the ground unable to move. Shay got on his feet quickly while helping Bebe on her feet. "Bebe see if you can check on the group. Someone is hiding in the shadows. I think they used the explosion to knock everyone down.
"On it." Bebe said while she ran off to heal her teammates. Shay grabbed his pen as he ran toward his group. He couldn't see the enemy but he knew he had to defend them all while she healed them. He flipped to a certain page as he signed as quickly as he could. The item formed as it used up a lot of his energy as it was big ink dom. He began panting as he knew the bigger the drawing the more energy he lost. He knew he had to shield his group though. Looking back at Bebe with light coming from the fire still lite he noticed Bebe was trying to heal Wendy but noticed nothing was happening. Bebe looked up at Shay as she grew scared.
"Can you see what's wrong with them?" Shay ask.
"Yeah." Bebe said while her book magically flipped to the page. She held her hand out while closing her eyes. Within a second her eyes shot open. "Their paralyzed for a short period of time."
"What? Will they be okay?"
"Yes, but they are unable to speak or move until it wears off."
"Who did this?" Shay asked while touching his ink dom.
"I don't know but.. this is bad. If we get effected ourselves we could all easily die."
"Don't say that. They won't be able to get in this dom."
Suddenly the two hear something near them inside the dom. Shay quickly turned around while ready to sign his next page for a weapon. He froze when he saw Spencer holding Jess in his arms as a blue mist slowly showed around them. "What's going on?" He asked as he let go of Jess.
"The team got paralyzed by an explosion. Someone is out there that clearly wants to get us all together." Shay said.
"Will this wall hold up long enough for them to wake back up?" Spencer asked.
"It should. But this is using a lot of my energy so it's a weak defense. I'll try my best."
The moment he said that, an explosion hit right next to the dom where Shay was. Shay grit his teeth as he felt as if his whole body became lead. He fell to one knee as he began shaking suddenly he felt his body go weak and start becoming numb. At that moment he collapsed to the ground face first.
"SHAY!" Bebe ran to him as she saw the wall slowly decaying into nothing. The three remaining tensed as they saw someone with red glowing eyes while holding a katana and a knife. Next to the assassin was another figure. Spencer grew angry as he teleported to the two while appearing behind them for a sneak attack. Spencer went to kick the assassin but his foot was grabbed as he saw the assassin licked the blade of his sword, then with one fluid motion, the assassin stabbed Spencer in the arm. Spencer screamed out as he teleported back toward his group as he fell on his knees, then his face.
"SPENCER!!" Jess screamed out as she fell to her knees. The two girls pushed the boys to face on their backs as they didn't know what else to do. The two girls felt something on their cheek. As they looked up they saw the assassin with his hand out as if he threw something. Jess began to panic more when she noticed Bebe went down with a bloody cheek. Jess quickly looked up at the two villains as her appearance became black and white. She stood up on her feet as she walked to the two. Anger was fired in her hollow chest as her now black hair was mostly covering her face. The two villains froze in place as they were warned before, 'this one is something you'd have nightmares about.' She growled as she suddenly sunk in ground. The two villains looked around rapidly as it was too dark. They didn't understand what happened to her exactly. At that moment she latched on the two while still in her puddle. The two yelled out at they began to sink to the ground in the hidden ink blob. The assassin made quick moves as he licked a dagger while stabbing the goo several times. He tensed as he noticed the girl had no effect. He growled as he knew what he had to do. "Gospel, wipe her memory."
"Are you sure? You know that drains a lot out of me."
"Yes, do it now or we are dead!!!" The assassin barked.
Gospel closed his eyes and he touched the black goop around him. Focusing all his energy in his ability he let out a loud breath. Suddenly the two were loosened as the black goop slowly formed into a woman. The two breathed out in relief as they collected themselves. "Now, the boss wants this one the most so...." The assassin didn't finish as he stabbed Jess where her heart would be with his katana. A few noises were heard off in the distance as some of the teens were slowly able to make the smallest sounds. "Huh.. didn't kill her.." The assassin said while pulling out the blade. He tightened his grip on his handle as he went to decapitate her. When he attempted he froze in place as the blade was halfway in her neck but she didn't seem to budge. He growled as he grew irritated.
"Maybe the one who created the dom has something to do with her." Gospel said while pointing at the brunette on the ground who was watching intensely.
The assassin walked up to the group with Gospel following behind. Gospel tensed as he noticed the ink girl was following him as he placed a spell on her. The three approached Shay as he was trying to grunt in anger when the assassin placed his foot on the boy's chest. Shay looked up at him while gritting his teeth.
"Gospel, make the boy speak the truth."
"Yes sir." Gospel said while squatting down. He touched Shay's head. "How do we kill the ink girl?" He asked.
Shay couldn't hold back the words as they slipped from his mouth. "My book has her drawing. If it's destroyed she dies." The second the words came out, his eyes widen as instant tears fell from his face.
The assassin smiled as he knew Gospel was the right one for this job.
"Thank you for your cooperation." He said while hunching over and grabbing Shay's book from his satchel.
Shay managed to growl in anger. The assassin looked back at Shay. "Ohh, your not really happy about me holding this simple book." He opened the book while seeing a bunch of drawings. He flipped through trying to find the one with the girl on it. He couldn't seem to find it. Looking over at the brunette he gave a sinister grin. "Seems I can't find her. I guess I'll burn the whole thing." He said while walking over to the fire.
Shay's body was trembling as violent tears were streaming down his face as he couldn't move or speak. The assassin approached the fire. "Gospel, tell her to come next to the fire. I want the rest to witness what is to come."
"Go over to Stain." Gospel demanded.
Jess did as the man said as she walked over to the assassin. Everyone was forced to watch the new and horrid performance as they all knew what was about to happen.
"Okay let's see if you were telling the truth, boy." The assassin said while he held the book above the fire.
Shay was doing everything in his power to force himself to move. He closed his eyes as he tried doing the impossible. Opening his eyes he could barely see as tears were blinding his vision. "Oh, look at that." He heard while grabbing his attention. Shay saw the man holding the book away from the fire. Seeing a small flame on the top slowly making it's way through the whole book. His eyes fell on Jess as he saw her body slowly decay. His heart was going a thousand miles an hour as she was making eye contact with him the whole time. 'Jess.. I'm so fucking sorry.. I don't want to lose you.. not like this.. not ever.. please god.. don't let this be the end of her. Please!!'
The assassin got what he wanted as he wanted to see all the pain in everyone's eyes that he was actually going to kill the biggest threat in their group. "Now.... let's end this shall we?" The one known as Stain said while holding the book above the fire ready to drop it in the fire pit. Suddenly a loud noise was heard off in the distance. The two villains looked in the street when they noticed someone ripping a light pole out of the ground. Their eyes widen as they noticed the person was running directly at them. Stain looked over at Gospel. "Gospel, hide. I'll destroy the book and get this new toy." He said as he dropped the book in the fire. Everyone was forced to watch as Jess disintegrated into nothing but ashes slowly and painfully. Shay felt his whole life get ripped from his finger tips as he felt he had nothing left in his heart.
"You think you scare me while running at me with a fucking light pole, you have another thing coming." Stain said while grabbing a throwing knife and licking the blade. He threw the blade while aiming at their cheek. He tensed as the stranger wasn't effected. "Shit!" He yelled as the stranger stomped inside the grass while planting their foot in the soil as they put all the momentum in the swing. Stain went flying off on impact into the darkness. The silhouette that the group could barely make out began walking toward the direction Stain was hit. They couldn't hear anything else but his screams. Suddenly the group of teens were able to move. They all quickly sat up while looking around. Shay didn't hesitate to run to the fire. He looked down in the flames unable to see his book. He felt his hands begin to shake as he closed his eyes. He chocked on his tears as he didn't know what to think or do. A hand was placed on his shoulder. He looked over to see Muriel with Molly behind her. They both had tears in their eyes. He felt her feeding him her power. He growled as he smacked her hand away. Muriel was shocked by his sudden behavior. She couldn't react before he began running away. "Wait, Shay!!" Muriel yelled with her hand out. The whole group remained quiet as they realized he wouldn't be the same.
Bebe looked over at Muriel. "Will he be okay?" She asked.
Muriel looked in the distance Shay ran to. "I don't know but we will try getting through with him tonight. We do all live together after all." She said while looking at Molly as they both were hiding how painful this whole situation was, especially Muriel. As Jess was her whole world too.
