For three seconds I waited for the rejection to cause me pain, I heard rejecting a mate was usually hurtful, but in this case, I didn't feel a single thing.

Davien confirmed my thoughts and pushed me to the other side of the bed, he adjusted his shirt and made for the door, ignoring what just happened, as though it didn't make a single difference.

"Idiot." I cursed hugging my knees to my chest, I could hear his car driving away from the cabin, and the loneliness crept into my chest once again.

He wasn't the idiot, but I was, for believing that Davien and I could become something more.
