Kapitel 106: Meeting with the Bag Man for the Second Time: Chapter 104

By his words, when Hamil said that he was going home…what he actually meant was that he was leaving the academy to go to his homeland…the land of the Crow Talon Clan.

But before he could ever leave, he had to settle a lot of things in this place…

"...Did Mr. Dottingham came to request something from us?" asked Hamil as he continued to walk across the halls.

"What do you mean?" asked Iris.

"Knowing what happened yesterday, he might want to know a few things from the people who actually experienced the tragedy…specifically me. He might be curious of anything related to her daughter for that matter or the academy itself."

"Oh, I see. But Eric hasn't told me about a meeting or anything like that…so probably not." said Iris.

"...Well, I guess we can only wait for his instructions then." said Hamil.

And by coincidence, Hamil's phone began to ring for a call from an unknown number.

"..."

He looked at his phone and decided to pick up the call.

"...Who is this?" he asked.

[...This is Eric, I know that Iris is with you so I want to make this phone call quick…we'll be meeting at the restaurant at the Hunter's association by 12:00 AM…the same place where you meet the boss. He wants to talk with you about yesterday's incident.]

"Okay, we'll be there."

[See you there.]

As the phone call ended, Hamil looked to Iris and said what Eric talked over the phone.

"Iris, we have to go to the Hunter's association today to meet up with Eric."

"I see, then I'll come with you then." said Iris.

Simply said, it was still a few hours early before the meet up, so to pass the time, Hamil simply looked around the school…looking for anything that might give a clue to yesterday's incident.

They came upon the burned training center, where in that area, an investigation was still ongoing, so he had no authority to look into it without permission from the police themselves. He simply stood by the sides as he watched the tragedy of the damage that the terrorist caused.

"...Hamil." Iris tried to call out to him, but as she stared at his expression, he was reminded of the same conflicted reaction he made back a few minutes ago.

There in that site, Hamil stared at the scene of the crime, where in his mind, the battle of him against the five went on and on…and as he continued to look, the visage of his actions continues to pulsate…it continued to remind him of how he acted inside that burning building.

".…" a slight regret from his actions grew within, where his hands could only grip and wished that he only acted a bit better than instead of being lead by his anger…he wanted to reflect on this.

A man cloaked in his hate…a man filled with rage that continued to grow since the past…a man who showed no mercy in front of the men who worshiped the demons…it wasn't his proudest moment…but it was enough to end such an event all by himself.

"...Let's go Iris."

Next to the training center was the damaged student dorm.

As they went near the yellow tape used by the police, Hamil could only ever look to the damage done by the Demon Cultist and him…it was a severe moment of desperation, but after all the times that flowed back to that moment, he wasn't angry with the results, knowing that the Demons failed at a hundred percent. It made him think of the man who actually lost all chance of a win, the man who orchestrated this event…the man called "The Great Father."

He wondered to himself how much hate this man would have being feeling right now, knowing they failed. It made Hamil smirk for their failure and also a bit scared knowing that they might plan to attack again…the flow of the story has changed to a point that he has to consider a lot of factors…wondering if the path of the story would even flow correctly still, or would it change as much as what a butterfly's effect would.

A few hours later, they decided to finally go to the meet-up place and after a while, they arrived at the Hunter's association with just their school uniform. With Hamil who was wearing a cast by his arm and Iris who was uninjured, they both went inside. The Owls on the other hand simply waited outside the building by Hamil's orders. They followed him here in the association simply by following the train at such speeds.

As the two entered the building, they were immediately meet with Eric who wore his usual hoodie which gave off a mysterious vibe around him. And along with his casual look, they were meet with him walking with a pair clutches on both his arms as it supported his right leg that was wrapped in a cast the same as what Hamil had on his arm.

"You guys are here." said Eric.

"...Eric, what happened to you?" asked Iris as she walked up to him in worry.

"...it was probably the same reason as Hamil…last night, while I was watching over Mrs. Martha from a certain location in the academy, one demon cultist came to find me on the spot and tried to kill me. Luckily I survive by throwing a flash-bang at his face and I jumped off a really high building."

"...Why the fuck would you jump off a building?" asked Hamil.

"...Well its probably because I was an idiot…or that I had no other choice in the matter. Who's to say."

"Hmm..all that matters is that you survived." said Iris.

"Yeah exactly. It's good to see you here Eric…so what did Mr. Dottingham want to talk about?" asked Hamil.

"Oh right, Before I tell you anything, just know that his son is also by his side in this meet up, he wants to meet with you personally, Hamil."

"...Liam?"

"That's right."

"Okay then." having understood Eric, they made their way to the restaurant at the top floor. By there, when they arrived at the entrance to the Restaurant, they were meet with a row of bodyguards who came to look over the Dottingham's as security measure.

"..." Having looked around, they could tell to not move ahead without having Eric lead them to the restaurant.

"We're here to see Mr. Dottingham." said Eric as he looked to the guard by the entrance.

"...Okay, go in." as the guard replied, they moved in and saw that inside the restaurant, a couple of people were there to dine. Compared to the last time when Hamil had to come on his own, today there were customers eating at the restaurant.

'...' Hamil was extra cautious knowing that the people in this restaurant might not actually be customers themselves…

"Their at the corner of the restaurant." said Eric.

"Let's go then." as Hamil said so, they made their way to where Liam and his father was seated.

As they walked up to where the Dottingham's were seated, they greeted the Patriarch of the family.

"You've arrived, please have a seat." said Marcos as he handled his steak with a knife and a fork.

"Thank you." as Hamil said so, he first sat down and followed by him was the nervous Iris and the still Eric.

Hamil had to sit with Marcos in front of him, while Iris and Eric were beside him as they confronted Liam who was there reading a piece of paper that seems to contain a piece of secrets and news.

"Would you like to order something? It is lunch time…you might as well order."

".…" Having looked to Iris, Hamil tried to see if she wanted to order, but looking at her nervous front, he knew that she could not eat well with the nobles in front of them.

"We appreciate your offer, but no thank you." said Hamil.

"Hmm, I see. Well, now that you are here, we should move forward with matter at hand. Specifically speaking, the incident regarding the Demon Cultist who came to raid the school." said Marcos.

"..." as Marcos said those words, Liam came to put down the piece of paper from his hands and then proceeded to look to Hamil in the eye.

"We want to know the exact events that happened from yesterday. And what more do we need then to hear it from the boy who actually came to participate in that event face front."

"...What do you want to know?" asked Hamil.

"Anything…anything that you would know."

Hamil thought of what he should do at the moment, but looking at the given chance and losses. It wouldn't really be a problem if he said what he knew about yesterday's event.

"I see…From what I know and gathered throughout the events…The Demon cultist were probably able to infiltrate the school through the use of working inside the school. Some posed as Janitors who came to clean up the school at around 11PM."

"How do you know this?" asked Liam.

"It's simply because of the fact that I saw them start the fire in the Training center. By now, the police would have found about four bodies that were trapped in the burning building…if you align the five missing workers to the janitor team's logbook, by now you would suspect that the missing workers were part of the scheme."

"You said that there were five workers, why would there be only four that was found in the training center?"

"Because I was able to drag one out while the rest remained to die." he said this with a calm gaze in his eyes which disturbed Liam.

"...Y-you killed them?" asked Liam.

"Not entirely…anyway, what I came to find out about the man who I dragged out of the fire was the information of who orchestrated the whole plan."

"And who was it that planned all of this?" asked Marcos.

"...A man titled and called "The Great Father." and their objective was simply to capture the targeted kids from the student dorm…and "feed" this alleged king."

"...I see, so they plan to feed him." said Marcos.

"What happened net after that?" asked Liam.

"...Well, before the training center was ever burned in the first place, the cultist planned to use another diversion which were the Skinwalkers…they were summoned before the fire ever started so that they could root out the guards of the academy. With the help of the Imposing Janitors, they were able to find a way to create an artificial gate to let through those Skinwalkers. After that, they proceeded to burn the training center."

"...Its true that you can only ever create an artificial gate with proper preparation. It makes sense knowing that some would impose as a worker in the acdemy." said Marcos.

"And about the Artificial Gate, it was also used by the only Demon of that group as a way to escape the academy in a quick access. That would explain the unstable gate in front of the student dorm."

"How was it that an unstable gate was created in front of the dorm? I doubt that the Demon was ever careless of its only exit." asked Marcos.

"It was easily done by destroying the artifact itself."

"Hmm, I did hear that one of the grand service knights of the moon were able to confront and kill the demon, was he the one who destroyed the gate?" asked Marcos.

"No, someone else destroyed the artifact."

"Were you able to know who this person was?"

"...yes, I did."

In that moment, when he said it when the same calm eyes, all of the eyes of the people on that table were on him.

"Hahaha…how is it that you were able to do such a thing? You must be quite a master of pickpocket to steal from a demon." as Marcos looks to Hamil with a very doubtful expression, he smirked as if he was hearing a joke come out of Hamil's words.

"...Simply said, I did what I had to do."

"..."

"Well…with that aside, what else do you want to know?"

"Well, we came here to tell you that since the academy canceled all classes for a week, we wont need the extra security over watching my sister." said Liam.

"Hmm, that's fair." said Hamil.

"Well and about my sister…during when the demon cultist came, did the two of you ever noticed to see her from somewhere in the building?" asked Liam to Eric and Hamil.

"I'm sorry, but because I had to escape from the demon cultist who saw me from a roof of a building, I didn't have the time to secure a position to watch over Mrs. Martha. I apologize. After I finally came to fix my leg, I wanted to go to the dorms, but before I could, I was already able to see her being lifted from the dorm to one of the tents by the end of it." said Eric.

"I see…how about you Hamil?"

"...No, I was to busy with the other things going on inside the academy to notice." said Hamil.

"Um, pardon me but have you tried to check if the cameras all over the school was able to capture footage of her?" asked Iris.

"No, we tried to ask for permission from the academy themselves, but all they had in return was all of their camera's being destroyed by the cultist."

"...hmm."

Looking at Hamil's gaze, Marcos couldn't help but compare his impression of him now to the first time he meet him.

Compared to before, now he had this calm unrelenting gaze, where one could tell that he was man who would not lie. It made him suspect about the fact that he actually did do something about the artifact used by the demons to escape. where as back to when they first meet, he was pretty straightforward and direct with his intentions. Although almost nothing had changed, his gaze has completely brought out a different meaning behind them. It made him wonder what happened to that academy to change the boy so little but so much at the same time.

It made him quite envious of his growth…to a point that he wants to test it out.

"If there's nothing else to talk about, we'll leave." said Hamil.

"No, there is something I want to see happen." said Marcos.

"...Father?" Liam was curious as to Marcos's words.

"You claim that you made such an achievement at the academy…to a point that it overturned everything there was to plan for by the demons…to see if your right, I want to see how much you can you do." said Marcos.

"Father this isn't necessary." said Liam.

"...Liam, I want you to test him if he actually has the capacity to protect your sister…a life is nothing to scoff at, especially my daughter." he said this as he continued to look at Hamil with a similar but more calculating look.

"Why are you doing this Mr. Dottingham?" asked Iris as she began to get nervous over the request of Marcos to Hamil. And knowing her position as a follower of Hamil, she had every right to worry.

"...Are you sure about this Mr. Dottingham?" asked Hamil.

"...I am."
