Once when I was living my life as it was, where I was serving my own right as a person who lives day by day simply to survive. But a time passes, I soon became rather confused and desperate in a sense that I was rather being unfulfilled with my acts.
I was put into a lack of purpose…into an identity crisis
Knowing so, my father approached me and told me the story of four kings who once ruled a country.
A proud, gallant and sufficient country that once was feared and admired by all other countries.
Their influence was so high in its standing that it even reached the attentions of the Gods themselves.
With their discovery, it lead to a war…
My father told me that the war started because the God's felt envious of their rising power, and it challenged their very authority to a point that the kings were found guilty for such a fault.
Hearing it happened, some of the people fled the country, while others fought for it.
The war continued for days.
The people who fought the gods along with the four kings perished in the end against a dozen Gods and an uncountable number of angels.
While the others who fled, they were burned with a mark that forever holds them to be a traitor…fools who knows no pride.
It was a curse.
And as he told me this story, I was simply in awe of how royally mystical the story was…
But the one thing that surprised me out of everything in that story was the fact that we were apart of story. My ancestors…the one's who ran were marked with the symbol of betrayal.
And seeing it be as it was during that time, I didn't really feel so much shame about it. I just felt bad about the fact that my ancestors ran during a war against a dozen gods.
Sometimes when I would find my father sitting at our table, he would simply stare at a glass of whiskey and a sense of depression would loom all over his presence.
In that moment, I would feel sympathetic about our situation.
As the days went by about my life, I never really remembered much about that story.
As I entered the academy, the story was never fully intact in my head as an after thought. It simply faded over time…
Until it didn't…
Until it finally returned.
And that was when I meet a certain boy in a certain event.
A boy who had slightly curly hair, blue eyes and a broad back.
A boy who just by a glimpse of my eye, I was caught with a nervous feeling in my stomach, so much so, that I lost all power in my legs during a battle.
He fought against an Orc Guard powerful enough that it could ruin my entire teammates, including myself. But with him and his shield, he protected me and my friend against all the attacks that came from the orc with the spirit and compassion of a hero-like warrior. But at the same time, I felt fear emerging into my heart as I watched his very existence.
A fear that I felt conflicted by.
In that moment, I became obsessed with the fellow boy that even at nights, I could not forget him as easily as I could with the story of the four kings.
Be it as it may, the day continued and I was simply living my life with him in my head…living rent free.
But as I did so, I was found amazed to see that we rode the same train together, and to this discovery, I was ecstatic…I was happy with all sense of my emotion…
As time passed, I began to deepen my relationship with this person all to a point that I was able to discover his role…his title…his reason and existence as a king.
And that was when I remembered the story of the four kings.
My fear only grew by then, but he showed me that he would lead on forward and that I should simply watch as a witness to his victory, as a part of the people who will follow him in his path of rebuilding the lost country.
My heart would throb…not in fear, but in wonder of his very visage. Maybe there was something more to this emotion every time I'm with him…
Maybe…

As easy as it was sending a message through my phone, to summon a companion back into my domain was easier if anything.
A single thought and a strong will was all it took and with it, she was inside the domain.
"..." staring with her diamond eyes, she looked to the great mage in question.
"...W-who is this my lord?" asked Iris.
"She is Merlin the Great. One of the companions who helped in assisting the Four Rulers of the past." I said.
"How do you do Iris, seeing as how you have been summoned here by Lord Hamil must mean that you have been truly acknowledged as a companion, the same as me." said Merlin as she smiles at the young Iris.
".…" to Iris's surprise, she stared at the great mage with a look of great honor. She bowed in respect and greeted herself with a nervous tone.
"M-my name is Iris Bakersfold, it's a pleasure to meet you!" she said.
"Hahaha, it must have been a coincidence, but she has the same name as the Blind Ruler." I said playfully at this coincidence.
"Hmm, it truly is." said Merlin.
"Uhm, pardon me for asking but, her appearance…she looks the same as one of the Rulers in the statues…the one who wears a blindfold." said Iris.
"Ah, that's because she is her sister, more specifically, her twin sister." I said.
"Wow, she's so pretty." said Iris as a compliment.
"You flatter me girl, but we have to move on to business. There's something I wanted to confirm since you have been brought here by our lord." said Merlin.
"What is it Merlin?" I asked as I look to her in question.
"Seeing as how you told me that she was a Dragonfold of name, I wanted to see if it was true to a fact. Iris, please come forward to me and bring me your hand." as Merlin requested this to Iris, Iris complied and slowly made her way to Merlin in a nervous venture.
When she held her palm to her, Merlin didn't hesitate to grab hold of it and closed her eyes to feel something inside Iris.
Simply after a second has passed when Iris's hand was touched, Merlin's eyes glowed in a way that as if she was using magic on the girl's body.
"Hmm…her blood is a bit tainted…yet her heart stills has remnants of proof that she is a Dragonfold…and her eyes, its no coincidence why they seems like crystals of pure magic. It can only be explained that it is without a doubt that she has a few ounce of Elf blood within her veins. She's an Impure Dragonfold kin." said Merlin with a rather complex expression.
"She's impure?" I asked.
"Yes…probably through the thousands of years of pairing with other bloods of simple origin, the Dragonfold Blood has been slowly turning to an impure state."
"You say it like they were inbreeding with one another." I said.
"Its nothing like that. Like I said, her ancestor's blood must have been mixed with that of a family from a simple origin..a weak one at that. Dragonfolds only ever mate with the strongest of men and women, its how they continue their reputation as being the strongest family to have followed the Rulers."
"I see, and what about her eyes, you said that its because she's part elf?" I asked.
"Yes, more so…a rare species of elf. A Royal Elf to be precise."
"Royal!?" asked Iris in shock.
"Yes, the only species to have been blessed with your kind of eye is because of a certain elf family that is of Pure Royal blood. any other elf that is not Royal wouldn't be given with such eyes." said Merlin.
"Are you talking about the Elsuvan Family?" I asked.
"Yes, exactly…the longest living elf blood known to man. A great treasure of a kind. They were still alive even back to when the Ruler's were still active…we even went to war with that family once. They lost naturally, but their existence was never forgotten by the world because they were able to push the Ruler's army once but after that, everything was flipped upside down immediately." said Merlin, proud in the past actions and victory of the Rulers.
Typically, I knew the Elsuvan Family because of the book's description of them.
Being of pure blood, they were the highest ranking elves that ruled the kingdom of elves. With over a hundred species of elves found all over the world, the Elsuvan Family was number one. Great power, great numbers of Armies and even a great lifespan, the Elsuvan's were the strongest elf race.
Or so what was written about it in the past….
But in today's generation, only about four family groups remain that contains the Elsuvan blood. With one of that Family being nearly pure blooded from skin to teeth. Namely, the Fourth Family, the Forest Elsuvans.
They hide under the protection of the second strongest family of Elves, the El-Sotain's.
The reason for their extinction was naturally their own natural enemy like the rest of the world, the Demons. Having the greed maximized to its fullest, the Demons were craving for pure elf blood in the intention of gaining immortality or at least a long lifespan. But that wasn't the case of truth, drinking the Elsuvan's blood never gifted the demon's the immortality on which they craved for. It was simply started as a rumor by an opposing family of Elves to fuel the curiosity of the dumb demons.
Seeing as how most demons were as idiotic back in the past, it was no surprise that the Demons attacked the family and its kingdom to its ruin without a single fact backing their intentions.
In the end, the kingdom was left to ruin and the Elsuvan Family was left to be protected by the El-sotains.
Having built a long friendly relationship with the El-sotain's, it was their honor and pride as a friendly family to protect the Elsuvan's out of kindness, and out of the return of having to marry one of the El-sotain's daughters to one of the Elsuvan's sons. In the End, the two bloods mixed and were able to bring out a new generation of elf blood into the family of elves.
I'm sure that Merlin doesn't know of these since the war between the Demon and Elsuvan's only happened about 800 years ago. Not enough time to reach the Ears of the Rulers themselves.
Surely I'll tell this fact to Merlin in time, but not right now.
"So it looks like you have Elf blood Iris, isn't that great?" I asked.
"..." but Iris only ever remained silent as she looked ot the grassy floors.
"...Iris?" having been worried, I called to her.
"!!…I-I'm sorry. I was lost in thought…forgive me my lord."
"What are you thinking deep about?" I asked.
"Its…its nothing, my lord." she said.
"Well, if you say so. Is there anything else you would like to see within Iris, Merlin?" I asked Merlin.
"No, my lord." said Merlin.
"Well, in that case, Iris, I'd like to give you a mission while you remain at the Kastelyst Kingdom." I said as I look to Iris.
"Yes my Lord, anything."
"While your there and especially when classes are about to start, I would like to have a frequent report on the events that will happen in the academy. Especially about Arthur's group of friends and as well as my classmates development in their academy lives. Anything important should be told to me within a specific time period on which you are available."
"I see, I will give my utmost dedication to this mission." said Iris.
"Along with that, you also have to give me a report on Martha's condition regarding the mission that her father has placed upon you. Anything about her health and growth will suffice on the report." I said.
"I will do my best." said Iris as she bowed
"Good. And for you Merlin, I'd like to ask what your currently doing outside the Domain." I said as I look to Merlin in question.
"Well, currently I am finding a way out of a ruin that is guarded by a few terrible monsters. I should be out by two days or so."
"Why are you inside a ruin?"
"Well, the moment when I was put into the sleeping chamber, I placed another artifact that ables me to use teleportation magic on the chamber. I wasn't certain if the island where we resided would survive against a God's wrath, so I had to be Teleported to one of the ruins that I prepared throughout the entire world of Elthen."
"And how many Ruins did you make?" I asked.
"Hmm…about ten thousand or so. Its hard to keep up with it since I randomly generated each one while also managing the issues of the kingdom before the war happened. I had to make sure that the God's wouldn't find a speck of my existence so easily that way." she said.
"Well, if that is the case, once you escape the ruins, tell me immediately. We'll all be meeting at midnight everyday, but if there's the possibility that I can't call, it might mean that I'm busy with handling my work." I said.
Since every ounce of my intentions and questions were told at today's first meeting I had them left the domain and continue on their lives. The moment I woke back up, I was back sleeping in the guest room. I await the day where I would take on the trials of the clan.
