As the day ended and when night came, I made my way to the Student counsel room to meet with all of the members of the group.
As I got there, I expected to be met with a number of members, but unexpectedly, only around seven people were there in that room. From the President, to the assistant, a couple of unknown seniors and lastly the secretary who was seating on top of a desk while giving a grim smile towards my way.
"Oh, you're here." said the president as she caught view of me entering the room.
"...I was told to come here after all." I said as I entered the room.
"Good, and be sure to always come here everyday after school. Its in this time where we'll give you your responsibilities done throughout the night. From patrolling the school, to doing paper work and if your good enough, you'll be sent to outside the academy for an 'errand'." said the President as it was going to be the norm of my everyday life during my time as a member of the student counsel. It won't be simple a job that needs no care, but instead because of its great perks like a dorm and its allowances, it simply needed to be a high standard group that manages the school.
*Nod* having nod my head. I understood her words and order. I understood now why so little people were here, as it was probably because of the jobs given to them by the president to do around the school.
"...Well, now that you're here, we might as well start our "Job" if you get what I mean." said the secretary as she smiled ever so creepily from the sides, along with her soft blue eyes.
She pulled out a box that was on the floor and tossed it my way. Looking at how it flew across the room, it gave me the impression that the box was rather light to a point that it was probably empty.
"!?" having to catch the box, I was meet with an unexpected heavy weight from it.
"...Hmm, it looks like your quite strong for a first year." said the Secretary as she smiles even more so.
"...What?" having called out to her words with a question, I was curious as to why the box was heavy in the first place. So I opened it.
"!!?" I was surprised to see that the box was empty…yet outside it, a trace of magic was found lingering around.
'Magic!?'
'Hmm, looks like he caught on.' thought the secretary as she figures out from my expression alone, I realized that magic was being used in that moment.
*Snap* she snaps her fingers and with it, the box became ten times heavier.
"!!!" I was forced to bend down to a point that my back was startled by this sudden enhancement in pressure, but I didn't let go of the box that easily. From how things were going, on how the secretary acted as a problem and from how Senior Jo warned me to be alert when it came to facing the secretary, it seemed like this was always going to be her way of greeting the new kid.
"Ooh, I'm quite impressed. To be able to carry a 1.5 ton weight and still be able to hold onto it with your hands is something to commend a person…no, it is something that should only be natural for someone who was recognized by the student counsel." said the secretary playfully.
As she played with me like I was some pushover, the president looks unto her with a furrowed look and says…
"...that's enough." said President Ethea as she starts glaring at the secretary.
"..." the secretary complied and stops her magic. Having done so, the box quickly became light as a feather.
"...!" having strained my arm from the box, I could feel it becoming slowly numbed.
And having known that she didn't even care or even apologized to me about what she just did a couple of seconds ago meant that she was quite a bully in this group. Her careless attitude and powerful magic made her a strong memorable force in this group, basically telling me to respect her for her power.
Judging from her magic attribute, I could guess that the magic she used was none other than 'Gravity Magic.' seeing as how she could manipulate the weight of the box even when it was empty in the first place.
"Well, that's enough for now. Newbie, Go to the Storage room and bring in these items." she said as she throws a piece of pink paper onto me like a throwing star. I quickly caught the paper and read through it. Written on it were a few items needed for student counsel. It needed a book from the library, a desk and chair for my placement in the room and so much more.
After seeing that she gave me an order, I looked to Jo to see if what she was saying was for real, but judging from his pale face, I could only imagine that I should comply to her command without question.
"...I don't know where the storage room is." I said truthfully as I look to her way with a straight face.
"..."
"..."
Having silence consume the room after pointing out the obvious, she spoke out.
"...Like I give a F**K." she said while Glaring at me with bloodshot eyes, ready to murder.
We both realized that I was still a new member and that I don't know my way around the school that much, but she didn't give a fuck either way….or more likely, she couldn't admit to her mistake. Despite her having soft eyes a second ago, she spoke out such a curse, like a Yankee would.
She has a lot of pride…this gal.
"...I'll take you to the storage, Hamil." said Jo as he step forward from the secretary, in an attempt to try to fix the tension in the room.
"No Jo, let Sherry do it." said the president as she stops Jo from making a step further.
"W-what!?" Sherry the secretary was a bit shocked by this, but before she could get a word in, Ethea spoke even further.
"You said you wanted to have someone under your wing, here it is, the boy that will be under your wing." said Ethea.
"..." Sherry was a bit silent after that, as she showed a furrowed expression to Ethea.
"Go, teach him the ropes to being a student counsel member. It won't simply be just by strength alone that you will evaluate his value. This is an order." said Ethea in a rather stern tone.
"...I know that…geez." Sherry complained a bit, but soon walked out of the room without saying anything.
"..." Having seen how defeated the secretary looked, I couldn't help but smirk a little.
Soon after, I followed her out.
*ETHEA'S POV*
Having seen them leave the room, I can't help but sigh in the tiresomeness of her attitude.
It has been like this since the time I came to the academy and met her as one of my classmates in the first year. Now that I'm in my third year, I've just realized how little she has changed. Although she was quite talented in using her gravity magic, her attitude on the other hand was very much as what you could expect from a high-class pampered noble who likes to order people around. The very kind of person I grew to hate.
…Still, I was surprised to find out that she's a good person on the inside…
I once saw her save a commoner of a classmate from a couple of seniors once. In that moment of saving, I knew she was good. The only problem was that she was very pampered, to a point that she won't do any work until she would be threatened by someone of higher power.
Because of her good act, I thought of bringing her into the student counsel along with me, in an attempt to try to push a since of workmanship into her….but two years has passed since then and yet, so little has changed.
"...It's weird though, this is the first time she asked us to have an assistant." said Jo.
"It's Obvious what she wants." I said as I look to Jo.
"Yeah…she's just looking for someone to push her job to." said Jo.
"...Still, maybe it'll be different today." I said, suggestively.
"What do you mean?" asked Jo.
"I mean, she never really had a good sense of workmanship…or better yet, a sense of responsibility."
"That is true." said Jo.
"...But today, maybe she'll understand what it'll be like to have someone under their wing. It
Will probably be a bit of a hassle at first, but if they grow to have a bond, in time she will probably change." I said with a smile on my face.
"Let's just hope that that is the case." said Jo
"..."
"..."
"..."
"...Wanna make a bet on it?"
"...A month's allowance is the highest I could offer you." said Jo.
"...hehehehehe, deal."
"I'm betting on the fact that she won't change…" said Jo.
"I'm betting she will….in a year's time." I said as I smiled ever so confidently.
*HAMIL'S POV*
Having left the student counsel, I followed secretary sherry through the hallway.
Her silence alone told me that she didn't want to talk to me…still, I needed to make conversation so that I could learn a few things for the student counsel work.
"Um…Miss Secretary?" I nervously called out to her.
"...I have a name, Idiot."
"...Sh-Sherry?"
"Don't call me like were close you idiot!!"
"...then how about Senior Sherry?"
"Egh...That makes me sound old."
"I guess…calling you secretary Sherry would work…I mean it sounds right." I said.
"..."
"..."
"Hmph, suit yourself." said Sherry.
"Anyway…where are we supposed to go? The first thing listed here is a book, so should we go to the library?" I asked.
"...the kind of book we're looking for isn't something that can be read by the students…nor can we read it ourselves. It is a type of rare literature that only is consumed by the highly literate, so it is located in a secret location inside the academy." explained Secretary Sherry in a rather calm but cold manner, as if she was warning me not to gain any sort of curiosity towards the book.
"Why are we handling it if its such a valuable book then?" I asked.
"...It's a job that we should just do." said Secretary Sherry rather plainly.
"...ehh." I was rather shocked by how calm she was given how important this book seemed to be. Still, I didn't push forward since I didn't want to get her mad at me again by asking too much about it.
Having walk through the hallway in the night, it was only natural that almost no one was around and when we came to the library, the number of people aside from Marilyn who was watching over the library, only about three people where in here.
Having wasted no time, Secretary Sherry immediately approached Marilyn and talked to hir a bit.
"Oh my, have you come to retrieve the book?" asked Marilyn.
"I am, here's my ID card." said Secretary Sherry as she handed her ID that was specifically for student counsel members. With her having listed as the one who took on the book, Marilyn didn't have to worry for any strangers that wasn't intended for it.
Marilyn took the ID and ran it across her computer, scanning it and recording it into its memory. After awhile of waiting, Marilyn stood from her desk and started walking into the many shelves of the library.
It seemed as if Marilyn was leading us to this secret location inside the library…
After walking for a bit, we finally came to one of the most inconspicuous places in the library…
It was around the end of the library where a hundred shelves were standing against a wall. In one of those shelves, Marilyn approached a single book and pulled on it. Having seen her pull on the book, the shelve made a clicking noise and opened itself almost to quickly.
As it opened, beyond that shelf was a passage that led to another location that was unknown to the students or teachers.
"Now, lets go." said Marilyn as she lead the way into this passage.
"..." Secretary Sherry followed her just as usual, while I on the other hand was quite nervous of this.
"Marilyn-Sama~~...Aren't you worried that someone else might find that book and pull on it?" I asked as I was ever so caught by her beauty.
"Hmm? Sama?…Uhh, You don't have to worry about that, the secrets of this library are only accessible by me and the head principle of the academy. Even if the students were to find all of the secret locations of this library, not a single one of them can open them." said Marilyn, explaining to me that I don't have to worry about that sort of incident happening.
Although I do know that this library had a secret beyond it, from how the shelves would be moved and opened, I don't have much memory about its placement…and I don't think there's anything here that would need for me to steal or anything…probably.
I'm unsure of what to do if the time comes when this place will be caught by the story of the novel…Marilyn's purpose is to guard this place so I don't think I should be worried just yet. If anything, I think that by the time that this place is involved by the story, a lot more powerful characters will show themselves…characters that I am not confident in facing.
But I have time on my side. In time when this place does get involved, I just hope I'll be strong enough to do something about it.
Continuing on, as we finally arrived at the end of this passage way, we came upon a wall.
"Hmm…" Having waved her hand in front of the wall, the image of the wall changed into a door that opened without anyone touching it.
"Here we are." said Marilyn.
Inside this place, a few books were found floating magically in the air, shelves were found barely filled with books and all other things used for research was inside this big room.
In the center of this room, a giant holographic model of the world was seen as the books floating around, circulated around it.
"Its the world…" I said, as I was mesmerized by the very form of its contents.
"You are correct, this is the very model of our World. Elthen."
She was right, this world that I was standing in right now was called Elthen. A Place filled magic and power that goes way beyond that of what my previous earth could ever match up to.
Elthen was a place that harbored many islands that stored many races. From Elves, Dwarves, Dragons, Giants, Demons, Humans, Letches, Mermen and so many more, this world was the very definition of fantasy in my perspective.
The continents themselves was placed by how big they were on scale. The first one being "Temperal Eld." The biggest continent in Elthen, harboring races like the Giants and Dragons. It was located just on the equator of the world. And because of its size, it was titled 'the wall of the isle' as it blocked the passage from the other side of the world. it was also harboring all of the four seasons, that was why it was called Temperal.
The Second biggest continent on Elthen was called "Isla Multifo". A gathering of multiple islands that were located in the southern parts of the world, with half of it being an Ice world while the other parts of it being a seasonal place. It harbored all matters of races. From mermen, to Dwarves, Elves and even Humans.
The Third most biggest continent in the world called the "Northern Eld" and right now, the Kastelyst Kingdom was found in this very continent. With most of its race being filled with humans, this continent was likely declared the homeland for humans.
The Fourth continent was simply called the "Demon's Territory." it wasn't its official name but because of how all of the residents of that place was filled with demons, it was known to be the place that demons call home.
The fifth continent was the land of the Mermen, a place found underneath the waters of the world. Although the form of the continent could be barely seen from space,it was renowned by the leaders that this continent which was in the middle of an open sea from miles on end was considered a continent itself because of how mermen were living here.
There were other islands as well in Elthen that weren't claimed by the others, as it was holy ground that was under the watch of some gods. These Islands had no name and was not allowed to be trespassed by any form of life. These Islands were called "Holy Territory." despite the gods living outside the world, they themselves claimed some of these islands as there own.
"So, where is the book?" asked Secretary Sherry.
"Here it is." said Marilyn as she used her magic to pull in a book that was floating around the room. As she caught the book, she quickly wrapped the book around with a special material. Because of her speed, we barely had enough time to even see what the book was all about, which was important since we weren't even supposed to know of its contents.
As Marilyn handed the book over to me, I looked at the material that was wrapped all over it. I noticed that it was a special kind of fabric-like material that seemed powerful. And having received the book, I then put it in my storage.
"Well then, now that this is over, we should now head our way back." said Secretary Sherry.
It looks like she didn't want to stay long in here, and I could understand her. This place was very suffocating for us…and we didn't know why? It was hard to breath in here and our vision alone was slowly starting to get blurry.
Despite us only staying for about a minute, this place was already affecting us in such a mentally damaging way.
"Hmm." Having noticed this, Marilyn agreed and guided us out of the room.
By the time we got out, I quickly took in a deep breath, and got my senses back to normal.
"Thank you for your hardwork." said Secretary Sherry as she bowed her head to Marilyn and so did I.
As we both thank Marilyn for the book, we headed our way out of the library to pick out the rest of the things in the list.
From the desk and chair, to the other miscellaneous items. We finally obtain the items listed in the note. With that said, we made our way back to the student counsel room.
By the time we made it there, it was already around 9:30 PM.
I approached President Ethea about the book and handed it to her. She thanked me in return and said that I should start making a place of my own in this room. By that, she meant that I should start placing down the desk and chairs from my storage.
"Looks like everything went smoothly." said Jo as he could see me placing the desk and chair on one of the vacant areas in the room.
"Hmm, yeah." I said.
"Well, after your done with that, we should start with the next phase of our work." said Jo.
"And whats that?" I asked.
"It's Night Patrol." said Secretary Sherry.
"Oh."
Do you guys like how this i written in a first person perspective?
