Kapitel 7: Chapter 6: Odd Trio

(It's finally over...) I thought to myself.

{Don't celebrate just yet. Things have yet to have gone our way. All this does is buy us some time.} Vandir reappeared and immediately began speaking.

(Of course... How lucky... Do you have a plan?) I asked.

{Not really... The ability didn't work quite the way I expected... It was far more potent, so now I guess we'll die once the effect wears off.} Vandir was very casual about it.

(You don't sound worried...) I was suspicious.

{Of course, I'm not... While extremely dangerous in my condition, I could always find another person and start over... Honestly, I would rather not, but if that's what has to happen so be it.} He casually revealed.

(Then... Why did you save me, to begin with?) My curiosity took the best of me.

{That was when our souls were in the midst of ending a merger, at that point we were essentially one, so I couldn't just leave, but as is now, I can still take my leave at a great cost.} He replied calmly.

(... This is on me for thinking you would care for something that isn't you or sex..) I complained.

{Oh well, lucky you, because the effects are wearing off.} As soon as he finished speaking everything was released from whatever Jasmine did.

Immediately I braced myself for death closing my eyes. (I'm sorry everyone... It seems in the end I still failed...)

.....

.....

...

But it never came... Opening my eyes, I found that the blue creature was floating in the air while struggling, having let go of Sara completely.

Upon a closer inspection... There were two floating hands attached to nothing choking the blue creature in the air?... Was I seeing things?...

"You're in a pretty ruffed-up state kid... You must've done your best... Don't worry about the rest. You can leave it to us." Behind me, I heard the voice of a man full of confidence and cheerfulness.

Then before my very eyes, the green creatures began to either suddenly combust in flames if they weren't near any person or have their heads fall to the ground if they were near anyone.

Walking into the scene like it was nothing were two women.

The first one was a short and petite young woman wearing a mask with purplish hair with tinges of red on it. She had smooth red skin and matching red eyes together with two horns on her head coming from the sides. She was wearing a black collar and a black blouse together with gloves and white pants with black and white long boots.

"It seems we've cleared the last area in the museum. Whoever made the distress call was exaggerating the threat... Though I admit this mutated blue goblin variant is weird..." The first girl commented while looking around.

While the second one was a curvy young woman with purple hair carrying tinges of pink, having similar horns to the first girl's coming out of her head. Her eyes were blazing red and her skin dark. Just like the first girl, she was wearing a black collar on her neck though this one had some sort of red stone attached to it, but unlike her, the rest of this attire was a fancy black dress with golden and red adornments. Finally, from her shoulder to the chest area, a magma-like pattern could be seen.

"Hmmm... It doesn't matter. The important part was to save Sakura Lorvi... Or would you rather talk to her father yourself?" The second girl responded.

Following that, the man who talked to me before also stepped forward standing in front of the two women.

He was a tall dark-skinned young man with demon-like horns coming out of his head. He was wearing shades and some sort of covert ops costume as he was in all black with tinges of red flames, as he had a jack on top of a sweater, and finally completing the look were his utility belt, pants, and designer shoes?... The one detail that confused ms however was... The man had no hands.

This lead me to look at the still-choking blue creature... So it's a goblin...

(So... He can detach his hands?... That's scary...) I couldn't help but be amazed at such an odd ability.

"Relax girls. We're getting paid because she's right here. So that's that. Plus, I think you want to study the weird goblin, don't you?" The handless man said to the first girl.

In response, the first girl walked to the blue goblin who had yet to pass out... That's some strong lungs... Unfortunately, as soon as she got close enough the blue goblin spit on her.

The spit evaporated before it could reach her.

"You want me to end your misery rather than getting captured, right?... Unfortunately for you, I'm very enthusiastic to study you." She walked even closer and then grabbed his balls with her gloved hands before squeezing.

The blue goblin was in clear pain and wanted to shout but was unable to as it was being choked out by the floating hands.

"I'm in command now, and if you don't want to end it damaged, you better be a good test subject, ok~?" She said all that with a cutesy voice but fierce eyes.

"Don't put the carriage before the houses. You're doing your thing once we are done interrogating this thing." The second girl added.

While those two's conversations continued in the background, Sara walked to me.

"Are you ok?" She asked despite having a hoarse voice and a bruised neck.

Putting in a good deal of effort I nodded my head before falling to intense pain in my whole body.

"Don't move! I'm sorry! Just don't move!" She felt bad seeing my state worse to answer her question.

On the back, Jadmine passed out and Naomi was trying to carry her best friend out of there. Rolls was nowhere to be seen and all the monsters seemed to have been defeated. I wondered how many of our classmates survived.

.....

....

...

After it happened we were taken to the hospital and our parents were super worried. After confirming I was fine they went to talk to the doctor to know the full extent of my current condition.

|Today at 3 pm, A hoard of goblins led by a mutated goblin variant confirmed to be a rank 2 grade 2 monster, happened in the Lexinim Museum of Clay, and many lives were lost. Rescue operations have been successful and some victims were saved from the rubble.

|In other news related to the modern notion that SAPS has been failing the public lately, they have announced the construction of a new Slayer school on something they called the Salvation Island project. Details are currently unknown but the prospects say that it will be done by 2012. The SAPS has commented on both matters, stating...|

I was watching TV with Leia sitting next to my bed, but then she just changed the channel.

"Why do you always do this?!" I complained.

"Because the news is boring! I want to watch my shows!" She replied.

"You're just too childish to understand." I comment.

"At least I know how to have fun and don't sleep all day!" Leia pouted and frowned as she yelled at me.

"It seems siblings are like this even in other families. How nice." While we were arguing, the handless man who saved us came in, though this time he had hands.

(What is this guy doing here?) I couldn't help but think to myself while looking at him.

"Hi! I was passing by to check on the people from yesterday, and fortunately, it seems you are doing fairly well. Oh, now that I'm here, do me a solid one tell me, kid... Just how old are you?" The man walked next to the bed with a smile and Leia reasonably intimidated held my hand and moved closer to me.

"I'm 6 years old..." I was puzzled but considering how easily he handled the blue goblin he's definitely a strong slayer, if he wanted to he would just get my info.

"So young... How about you little lady?" He continued to smile as he asked Leia.

"Hum... I-I'm... 10..." Leia who was nervous stuttered.

"Hehehe... Relax, I'm not a bad guy. Though you got me curious... What are your names?" He asked another question.

"... Why do you want to know that?" I inquired since he can just get the info might as well get some from him.

"If you tell me your names, I'll recommend you to the best Slayer academy in the country... Maybe even better if you show the talent above what I'm thinking." He calmly explained with a smile.

Both me and my sister were shocked by what he said, what was this guy thinking?

"Hehehe. You don't have to answer now, you're so young you can take your time. If you ever decide to take the offer, call this number." He pulled out a card and gave it to my sister then he just disappeared in thin air.

(What an odd man...) I couldn't understand him, but it didn't seem like he had evil intentions.

(Third Person's POV)

After leaving Makiel's hospital room, he went to the roof where one of his partners was waiting for him.

"Where's Irmina?" Amir asked as he looked at the second girl from before.

"You know her. Waiting to experiment with that thing. I asked if she would come, and she said "Pamela my sister, you're too stupid to understand how I feel." so don't bring her up..." Despite complaining, Pamela didn't look the slightest bit mad.

"You two need to get along... I just came from talking to kids and I feel we are no different from them at times like this... Luckily I'm responsible." Amir smiled while slowly shaking his head.

"Is that so? Then you wouldn't mind taking off your shades right now?" Pamela suggested without changing her tone or expression.

"Hummm... T-that... That's a bit much, you know it's dangerous for humans to look me in the eyes, so I have to wear them! I don't have a choice!!" Amir responded rapidly full of cold sweat.

"I'm the only one here, what are you afraid of huh?" Pamela smiled lightly but didn't change her tone.

"Y-yeah... But hmmm... You never know, someone might see by accident since we are in an open area." Amir's cold sweat intensified.

"Tsk! You're using your eyes to spy on women again, aren't you?! I'm sure your eyes weren't even here until I mentioned it." Without changing her slight smile or her tone, Pamela said.

"Hehehehe! Hehehehe!" Amir began laughing frenetically.

"Trash brother... You're irredeemable... If you keep acting that way, you'll never find a wife." Pamela warned.

"Don't worry... I'll definitely stop. Anyway, I confirmed that the mana in that rank 1 grade 2 goblin was indeed from that kid. The craziest part is that he's only 6 years old." Amir changed to a serious expression as he began explaining.

"Isn't a rank 1 grade 2 equivalent to an average adult human... You're saying a 6-year-old defeated one? Are you sure some bystander didn't just knock it out or something?" Pamela's eyes widened as she heard him.

"No, the cause of death was mana disruption. It's a very specific way to kill someone that always leaves traces behind. It would be odd if I didn't recognize it." Amir continued.

"You're saying a 6-year-old can use an advanced mana technique like it's nothing? Most Gold-tier Slayers don't know how to pull that off!" Pamela replied.

"I know, I know... For now, I'm still not sure if it was the kid himself or if it was just someone close to him using his mana, but whatever the case, I gave all the kids involved with him the same big opportunity. Once they take it, it's just a matter of time until we know which one of them actually did it and who's got talent...

"Don't forget that the other girl, the one that was passed out pulled a large area of effect Command Spell! These kids aren't so simple at least some of them aren't. It's definitely a decent investment." Amir expressed.

"I'm quite curious to see what they will show us in the future." Pamela nodded and they both disappeared.

(Makiel's POV)

Some time passed and the others were doing better, so everyone came to visit me.

"You thought I would just run away! Who do you think the great me is?! I stand above that!" Rolls was saying nonsense as usual.

"For someone so weird, you have a lot of friends... They must all be weird too." Leia couldn't just stay quiet.

"Let's all get along guys! We're here to cheer Maky on!" Sara tried to mediate things.

"Weird? me? Maybe Maky and Rolls... Kind of Sara too! But I'm Jasmine Olberg! I'm not weird! You're not allowed to say that anymore!" Jasmine complained to Leia.

"Jasmine, calm down. Maky's sister is way older than us! Don't say that!" Naomi tried to stop Jasmine from causing trouble.

Things were going on the usual way, with a few additions.

"Hehehehe! You're all really fun." Crystal also came to visit despite not being involved in the incident.

"Hmph! They don't know what they are saying! They called the boss Rolls weird!" Naomi's brother? Was also here. Apparently, he was following Rolls around but had a dentist appointment on the museum day.

As the conversation continued, arguments sprouted. It looked like a warzone.

The room was full and there was a lot of commotion. Looking at it made me smile.

(I wish my room was this lively back in my first life... I have no choice then, I'll really have to treasure this life! I'll have to become strong! The time for me to find my parents and then take revenge on their killers approaches each day and when it comes, I'll be ready!) Once again I reaffirm my goal.

Cause someday, I really plan to rule over all things, as unrealistic and naive as that might be. I'll do it all the same!
