Kapitel 3: CHAPTER 3 : I WANT YOU AS MY WIFE
Long Xia stared at him for a good one minute before hurriedly standing up and giving him a ninety degree bow surprising everyone in the room.
"I...I am so sorry President Zhao for my words.Please forgive me."
"Get out!"
" Yes, sir."Long Xia said as she headed for the door.
"Not you, Xia. It's them am telling to leave, not you."Zhao Haoran said as he looked at everyone else in the room gesturing for them with his eyes to get the hell out of there.
Zhuo Li and Yang Liu followed the rest out but not before giving Long Xia a wink.
Once the two were left alone, Long Xia felt as if the room became smaller as she remained standing in front of this powerful male god.
"Have a seat."Zhao Haoran offered.
Long Xia sat down and fisted her hands on her laps, under the table due to anxiousness.
The silence dragged on and this made her more anxious and she finally decided to break the silence.
"Is there something you want from me, sir?"
"Yes. I want you as my wife."He answered straight fowardly surprising her to the core.
Long Xia was lucky that she wasn't drinking something or else she would have sprayed it on his face in astonishment.
"Pardon?"
This time Zhao Haoran did not answer her directly and took her little hands into his big ones surprising Long Xia once more.
"I want you as my wife, Xia. And am not using you as a business tool. I just want someone by my side and you were the perfect candidate for the position of Mrs.Zhao. I am the one who chose you to be my future wife."Zhao Haoran said as he looked into her beautiful dark hazel eyes.
" I....I.." Long Xia started because she was at loss for words.
" Wasn't the marriage cancelled?"She finally managed to ask.
" To your father, it was, but to the Zhao family and I, it wasn't."
"What do you mean by that?"
"You see, I sent someone to snap some photos of you and Zhuo Li that evening when you went to the club with him. Zhuo Li was aware that I had sent someone but he didn't tell you because I wanted to be the one to confess the truth to you. The next morning, I sent the photos to your father. He was using you as a business tool and I didn't want our future to be strained because of this. I am pretty sure he didn't even inform you of the alliance and I also didn't want you to think that the Zhao family was a part of your father's scheme to exchange his daughter for business deals. I wanted you to see that I am genuine in this marriage."
"I am a mere waitress, Mr.Zhao and you are a tycoon. What are people going to say?I am also no longer the first miss of the Long family. I am a commoner now."
"Even if you were a peasant, I would still marry you. Whether you are a Long or not, I don't care. Besides after marriage, you can take up my surname. Also, I know that you are the owner of the Luvitus chain of hotels."Zhao Haoran said much to Long Xia's astonishment.
'How did he know? But she wouldn't be surprised if he knew, knowing that his best buddy was Zhuo Li, one of the few people who knew this secret of hers.'
Long Xia was silent for some time and then asked him.
"And why should I believe in your words?"
"Then let's make a deal. If you ever hear from anyone that am using you as a business tool, I will give you all the assets under my name and my shares in different companies. Is that enough to convince you?"
"Hmmm...maybe. You better keep your promise or else...So when are we going to the marriage bureau?"
Zhao Haoran was stunned at first. Was it that easy to make her agree to marry him?
"Today."
"Okay, wait for me. I will go change."
Zhao Haoran released her hands and gave her a genuine smile. "I will wait for you then."
Long Xia got out of the private room only to find her two best friends looking at her eager for the news.
"Yang Liu, I am your cousin in law and Zhuo Li, I am your bestfriend in law from now on."
"You are not joking right?"
"No am not. Let me go change first."
Long Xia headed to the elevator which took her to the top most floor where her penthouse was located.

Twenty minutes later, Long Xia headed towards the VIP private room where her future husband was waiting.
She opened the door attracting the attention of the majestic man standing by the floor to ceiling window.
When Zhao Haoran saw her, he was floored.She was dressed in a white modern floral cheongsam dress paired with black stiletos. She had a simple bracelet on her hand and her long black hair was let free on her back in waves. She had applied minimal makeup enhancing her already beautiful features. In short,to him, she was like a beautiful angel descended from heaven to bless the mortals.
Long Xia noticed that Zhao Haoran was in a trance looking at her. Under his gaze, her face turned red.She cleared her throat to gain his attention.
" Shall we go?"
"Yes." He answered as he took his overcoat and opened the door to the private room for her.
"Thank you."
Zhao Haoran gestured for his body guards and his secretary to follow them.
Once they reached the lobby, everyone stood in their spots to look at them. Some of them were surprised to see one of their fellow staff member walking with their esteemed guest. However, when they looked at her expensive clothes, they knew she wasn't just a simple waitress as she portrayed herself to be.
The couple boarded the car as the bodyguards occupied the other two cars. On the way to the bureau, Long Xia turned to Zhang Haoran and enquired where her two best friends had disappeared to.
