Kapitel 25: CHAPTER 25: LAST NIGHT
"Sec..*hic*..secret? I love * hic* secrets." Yang Liu answered as she moved her ear closer to Zhao Xia's mouth so that she can whisper the secret to her.
"I..*hic*..am..*hic*..K.."She suddenly fell on the table unconscious. Zhao Haoran held her up and leaned her head on his chest.
"Is..*hic* she o..okay?" Yang Liu asked, still dead drunk but worried for her friend.
"Yes, she's fine. Mr. Huan, you should take Liu home too. It was nice meeting you and I hope that you will care for and love my cousin. I hope we will meet again." Zhao Haoran said as he was in the process of picking up Zhao Xia. Once he settled her in his arms, he stood up and headed towards the door. He then turned back after remembering something or perhaps someone.
He kicked Zhuo Li off the seat,earning a composition of curse words from him.
"Get up, we are leaving."He said as he strode out the door .
He headed to his awaiting car and the chauffer opened the door for him.He boarded it, still with Zhao Xia in his arms and settled himself in the back seat.
"Where to, boss?"The chauffer asked when he boarded the car.
"To the mansion."
"Yes, boss." He answered as he started the engine.
On the way home, Zhao Xia regained consciousness. She looked around only for her to be met by her husband's gaze.
She suddenly gasped confusing Zhao Haoran.
"Where is Liu? I was just about to tell her a secret."
"Guess what, sweetheart? You were telling your secret to four people and not one. "
"What?Tch! Those people are so shameless. Don't they know what privacy is?" She harrumphed as she shook her head from side to side before letting out a sigh.
Seeing she had yet to sober up, Zhao Haoran remained silent the whole way, listening to her gibberish talks, until they reached home.
He took her to their bedroom and laid her on the bed. He helped her remove her boots and took them to the closet. He went to the bathroom to prepare a relaxing bath for her that would at least help her sober up.
When he came back from the bathroom to check on his wife, he saw that she had fallen asleep. He helped her remove her clothes and wrapped her body in a towel, before carrying her to the bath tub.
He washed every inch of her body clean and even so, she didn't wake up. After drying her body and hair, he helped her into one of her baggy t-shirts and pajama shorts. He laid her on bed and covered her up.
He later joined her in bed after his shower and hugged her close to him.
...
The next morning...
"Fudge! My head is splitting." Zhao Xia complained as she sat up on bed. She rubbed her tired eyes and looked around the room.
"How did I get here?"She soliloquized as she tried hard to remember what happened yesterday.
"Good morning, sweetheart." Zhao Haoran said as he entered their room with a tray of food. He set it on one of the nightstands before sitting on the bed facing her.
He took a cup of peppermint tea from the tray and passed it to her.
"It will ease your hangover."He explained as she took the cup and had a sip from it.
Zhao Haoran watched as she finished the whole tea before taking the cup from her hands and placing it elsewhere.
Once her mind was finally clear, remnants of last night's event started coming back to her.
"Sh*t!" She cursed silently as she remembered him.
"Sh*t!" She cursed again as she remembered he was married to her best friend.
'Wait! Did I spill some nonsense yesterday in front of him?' She soliloquized as she turned to look at her husband.
"Haoran?"
"Yes."
"Yesterday, did I mention something that I wasn't supposed to mention?" She asked warily.
"You almost spilled your secret in front of someone who wanted your life but you, fortunately or unfortunately, passed out before the words escaped your lips."
Zhao Xia let out a sigh of relief.But then she remembered the most important thing of all.
"But what about Yang Liu? I mean if Huan Kai finds out that am Katana and he ends up hurting me or even worse killing me, their relationship will be at stake. I mean they love one another and I am the invisible barrier of their relationship. God, this is getting more and more complicated." She said as she buried her head in her hands.
"Don't stress yourself out. We just have to make sure that Huan Kai does not find out you are Katana." Zhao Haoran said as he removed her hands from her face and held them.
"I will be careful from now on." She muttered.
"I k..."
'Groooowl!' Zhao Haoran was interrupted by his wife's growling stomach. He chuckled when she turned her red face away in embarrassment. He picked up the foldable bamboo tray and placed it on the bed where she could easily access the food.
"Thank you." Zhao Xia muttered as she picked up a fork and knife ready to devour the delicacy in front of her. She was hungry, okay?
"You aren't eating?"She asked when she saw that Zhao Haoran hadn't touched any of the food on the tray.
"No. Am fine."
Zhao Xia brushed his words away, picked up a strawberry from the fruit bowl and placed it in his mouth.
Their breakfast was eaten like that with them feeding each other in harmony and bliss.
Suddenly ,Zhao Xia's phone rang. She picked it up upon seeing the caller's ID.
"Hello, dad. Everything alright?"
"Huan Kai is in China . You should lay low for some time."
"Guess, what? I met him yesterday in the evening. And guess what else? He is married to my best friend."
"WHAT?!! He is married to that Yang girl?"
"Yes.Now this is a problem dad."
"Don't worry. I will find a solution for this problem."
"Okay. Thank you and greet mom and my brothers for me."
"Okay. Take care." She hang up the phone and placed it on a pillow nearby.
"You have brothers?" Zhao Haoran asked.
"Yes. I have four biological brothers. I can introduce them to you soon if you have time."
"Am planning on going for a business trip to Japan next week. You can accompany me and we will visit your family after my business there is over."
"Okay."
