Damian closed his eyes and counted to three under his breath. Dr. Chen taught him how to do this. Chen said that when he opened his eyes and stopped counting, Andrew would be gone. Chen called the action something that Damian couldn’t remember. It was wordy and had everything to do with psychology. A necessary exercise that was real. A technique to cure him of Andrew’s ghostly appearances.
