"Kan'na, if you will."
Kan'na released a magic circle underneath them. She cracked a knuckle, "This thing is similar to the teleportation scrolls. Same principle, I just need to leave a mark to the place I wish to go. It also takes a little while longer."
"Very convenient."
"Indeed."
As the teleportation circle worked Wrock sighed, "This tension. . . it feels like we are going against the Demon Lord again."
"It's something similar."
"Well you're not wrong. I guess it could be considered something similar."
Tilia piped in, "Yeah, we lose this then we start over on square one."
"Not necessarily."
"What do you mean?"
"We have our knowledge of getting to this point. So it's not starting over on square one per say."
"Then square two."
"Is that even the correct phrase?"
The teleportation completed and the group was on top of the mountain. Their surroundings turned white and gray, from the rock and stone.
A figure stood on a rock, arms behind their back. A gust of wind blew, making the loose parts of everyone's clothes flutter.
The figure spoke, "So you have arrived. . ."
~ ~ ~
A total of three different groups were watching this fight! The first was the Crimson Immortals, who hoped for a little entertainment in Rygeth's Trial.
The second was the developers! Desk Guy was particularly excited for this. The strength of his favorite team had, in short, skyrocketed!
The third party was a singular person. A man in his forties sat at a desk. His hair was beginning to gray from the constant stress. Yet at this point he was completely calm.
A screen was in front of him, which he was watching intently. His fingers were intertwined, with his chin resting on them. Giving him a vibe of an evil boss.
"Now. . . show me the strength of someone who has a Strand. . ."
~ ~ ~
The party readied their weapons. Rygeth jumped down from the rock, "The contestants of the Trial are all present. Thus, I activate the Trial! Begin, Combat to the Death!"
All party members, excluding Akiol, all received the same quest.
[Trial: Combat to the Death]
The Immortal Rygeth had activated the Trial! The Trial will only end once one of the parties have died. (You will automatically fail this quest upon leaving the area.)
Objective: Kill Rygeth!
Difficulty: SS+
Time Limit: None
Reward: ???
Failure: Permanent Character Deletion
Wrock shook his head, "Quite unfair to begin with, considering you're Immortal."
"Nonsense."
Wrock, Akiol, and Tilia launched forward. They had one goal right now: buy time!
Rygeth smirked, "Hmph! Mere First Stages dare to face me head on?!"
A rune appeared at the end of Rygeth's hand, "[Heavenly Buddhist Palms]."
He clenched the rune and several silhouettes of palms came descending upon the trio. Tilia slid to a stop as Wrock and Akiol continued forward.
Twom~
A giant forcefield in the shape of a mountain appeared. The palms smashed against it, the barrier pulsed upon every hit. Yet the palms failed to break it.
Wrock and Akiol had closed the distance. Immediately they both attacked, fist and sword aimed towards vital points on Rygeth.
Woosh~
A strong gust of wind formed from the attacks, blowing up snow. After the cloud of snow settled Rygeth could be seen gripping both Wrock's fist and Akiol's sword. He praised, "Good! These strikes are far more powerful than before. Even an Upper Four sword! It looks like you haven't wasted the time given! However. . . it's far from enough!"
Booom-!
Akiol and Wrock were sent flying back, the blows from Rygeth happened in a flash. Their HP dropped incredibly quick, but rose a moment later. Akiol slid to a stop, "To be healed this soon, it seems that it isn't enough Wrock."
Wrock cracked his neck, "Let's show this guy something good then."
Akiol grinned, "I was going to say the same thing."
Two blue flames crackling with electricity formed on Wrock's fists. The flame rose in intensity, the tip of the blue flame ending at his elbow.
Akiol began to emit a red aura, occasionally part of the aura would flicker yellow in some areas. He had used all his stats as a catalyst to increase his speed and strength. All though he couldn't see his stats as numbers, they still took place.
They charged forward. Rygeth had an evil grin, "Good! Struggle as much as possible!"
Rygeth punched in their directions. Two shockwaves shot forward at high speeds. The two didn't flinch, because they had Tilia!
Two orange and brown shields appeared in front of them. The shockwave slammed into them, making them pulse.
Tilia had long since fully understood her War Sight. She had a certain amount of 'barrier' which she could control at will. Regardless if it was splitting it apart into a million pieces. Yet she couldn't go beyond this limit.
She then remembered her War Sight's stats upon it being named.
|Immovable Mountain|
Holding the stubbornness of a mountain, nothing can make you move. Those who lack the strength cannot destroy a mountain.
War Sight Status Ratings:
Power: B
Range: A
Utility: B
Potential: C
Total: A
She had an A ranked War Sight, its effects truly lived up to such a rank.
Wrock's speed was increased drastically, in mere moments he was already within combat range. He punched towards Rygeth's face. Yet the blow was blocked. Wrock's foot blurred and slammed into the stomach of Rygeth.
Rygeth slid back, Wrock shouted, "I too shall play that game!"
[Thundering Impact]!
[Second Tempo Strike]!
[Mastered Basic Punch]!
Two shockwaves shot forward, this time they both carried a blue flame crackling with electricity. Rygeth lifted his arms and guarded against the attack. The force of the two shockwaves made him slide further back, but he appeared unharmed.
He looked at his arms, "Ice?"
His head snapped behind him, Akiol was above and swung downwards with Stars. Rygeth went to raise his arm to defend, but realized the ice had slowed his movements! Thinking quickly he abandoned the idea of guarding and began to lean back. The sword missed his face by a hair, but instead it carved through his chest.
His thoughts ran rampant, 'When did he get behind me! How was I this injured?!'
Before Rygeth could recover Akiol titled the sword, the tip pointing towards Rygeth. He then said, "Repulse."
Brwom~
A incredible force slammed into Rygeth, sending him flying back. Yet what greeted him wasn't a recovery, rather it was Wrock!
[Xiphoid Strike]!
A sword illusion followed with Wrock's punch. He slammed his fist directly in the center of Rygeth's back. The sword illusion stabbed into him, making him stunned.
Twin cobras spiraled into the air.
[Twin Rising Cobras]!
Rygeth launched into the air. He grit his teeth and forcefully turned, yet Wrock was already there.
[Raging Bull]!
A silhouette of a blue bull formed outside of Wrock. He slammed his knee into Rygeth's stomach, the bull followed the movement with his head. Rygeth vomited blood from the blow, yet Wrock wasn't finished. Since [Raging Bull] also stunned, Wrock spun several times before kicking Rygeth's shoulder.
[Cycle Crash]!
Rygeth began to crash towards the ground. Yet before he fell even a meter, Wrock's foot slammed into him again. A giant hawk silhouette behind him.
[Hawk's Descent]!
The two slammed into the mountain, sending cracks through its stone. Rygeth shouted, "You dare do this again?!"
Wrock didn't answer, instead he raised his leg and slammed it downwards.
[Guillotine Kick]!
Wrock jumped away after finishing his combo. Akiol joined him by his side.
Rygeth stood up, "You brats. . . actually tossing me around this much. It's futile! I'm Immortal! These wounds will heal in a heartbeat! Did you really think you're stronger than me now?! There is no point in me trying, because you cannot kill me!"
Kan'na shouted, "We are well aware of that, so take this!"
Large runes appeared above everyone. The began to glow brilliantly, but nothing seemed to happen.
Kan'na then snapped, "By order of law, all those facing a Trial are forcefully connected with the Cycle of Life!"
Rygeth's eyes widened, "What?!"
He immediately checked himself, it was true! He was no longer Immortal! How was this possible?! What could possibly do such a thing?!
His eyes narrowed, "A War Sight. . . such a powerful one at that. You're dangerous, I shall kill you first."
Rygeth vanished. Wrock and Akiol's eyes widened as they turned their head towards Kan'na. He was incredibly fast! They could barely see him!
Kan'na coughed blood, for Rygeth's fist had pierced through her stomach.

The Immortals grew restless.
"Someone can force back to being Mortals?! That's incredibly dangerous!"
A much respected Immortal held up a hand, "Silent, let us see how Rygeth handles this."
Upon seeing Rygeth severely injure the sorcerer the Immortals sighed in relief, "It seems little Rygeth isn't useless! We should reward him for dealing with such a pesky individual."
"Indeed! I shall gift him that old root of mine, it should increase his strength!"
"It seems you're quite generous today!"
"Silent! The battle isn't over yet. . ."
