Kapitel 426: Reveal The Truth!

"Today is an interesting time for us.", Aaron spoke with a complicated gaze.

The second day of The Arena! This moment has kept Aaron up from sleeping. Now that all the candidates have arrived he spoke, "Our momentum is great, currently we still hold first place. However because of this we are undoubtedly going to be challenged first. What matters is by who, and their candidates. If they choose an Ace we are as good as done for."

Horrow entered the room, "Then let them come, we must accept our losses just as much as our victories. Running away is not an option."

"I'm just warning them."

"It's needless, if we fight an Ace we simply have to fight better than we ever had before right?", asked the burly man with the scythe.

"To put it simply."

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's get moving."

". . ."

~ ~ ~

Inth, the West Province Head, tapped his chair impatiently, "When are they arriving?"

"Head- if we target them again we will look petty. I-"

"I would have accepted our loss, would. I had someone look into it. The candidates of the South Province aren't actually members of the South Providence. They're fill ins! Outside help to maintain the South. That goes against everything The Arena stands for! This is to showcase the strength of each Province. These fighters of the South isn't their strength at all!"

"Even if that's the case what would the others think?"

Inth closed his eyes, "Listen Rain, when we win this next match I fully intend to reveal this fact to them all. This should disqualify the South from the Arena entirely! I will no longer let that shameless Province desecrate The Arena!"

"You're certain of our victory? Even if they're fill-ins we cannot underestimate them."

"I have a plan, this one is sure to succeed."

"As you wish."

~ ~ ~

Horrow placed himself in the South spectator box. Glancing towards the projection he tapped the chair, "What's this Inth?"

Inth's voice entered the room, "Is there a problem?"

"Challenging me so early? It's almost as if you're upset."

"Yeah I'm upset, just not in the way you think."

"What about you two? Is this not blatant targeting? Will you just sit quiet?"

Winter's voice could be heard, "When you play like this, don't blame us for being impolite."

"Oh? So it seems I've angered everyone here."

Inth's furious voice could not be held back much longer, "Your candidates! You dare to choose people that aren't apart of the South Province?!"

"As if you left me a choice! Was I to stand idly by as you tear down the very thing I hold dear?"

"You were to use your own strength! The South's strength! These outsiders have nothing to do with the South Province!"

"On the contrary Inth! These are the fighters who accepted my request. They fight on behalf of the South, is that not enough?"

"Enough?! Far from it! I will reveal to everyone the truth! I will announce the challenge now, any complaints?!"

Horrow frowned, "Naturally! You actually had the gall to add an Ace?! Do you take me as a fool?!"

"I see there are no complaints!"

"Don't you dare Inth!"

The West Head's voice broadcasted to The Arena, "Welcome! I'm sure you all are waiting patiently enough! No longer! The West Province challenges the South Province to a fight of three! I bring forth Brilliant Gleam, Thirn, Electric Current, Cain, and Pale, Sun Follower!"

Horrow gritted his teeth, "Since you want to do this I'll drag you down!"

His voice broadcasted across The Arena, interrupting Inth, "Clearly you are upset over yesterday's loss! To once again so brazenly challenge me, have you no honor?"

Inth responded with a laugh, "I'm sure many here think the same! No worries, I shall state my reasoning after the match! That is. . . if you accept?"

"Who is it you're challenging? I wouldn't doubt you decided to pick others, hoping you find the weaker ones."

"We challenge the South! So you choose!"

Igneel looked around nervously, "One of them are an Ace right? How are we supposed to fight them?"

Wrock shook his head, "This is Horrow's decision."

"Screw that! Send me in, these cocky bastards deserve a thorough lesson!", the burly man gripped his scythe.

Horrow placed his chin on his hands, "Are you confident?"

"It's not a matter of confidence here."

"Fine, as for the other two. Tilia, you shall be support."

Tilia stood up, "Alright."

"Now for the third. . . we are against an Ace so a Priest wouldn't be a good idea."

Yielya shrugged, "Not my fault."

"Let me. They will need some ranged support right?", spoke someone in the corner.

The third new face, she hardly spoke during any of their previous matches. Only silently observing. Horrow glanced towards her and nodded, "Very well, I'll make the announcement."

Kan'na asked, "You two sure about this? This very well may be our first loss."

"I'm not going to stand idly by while some arrogant punk disrespects me! Even if I lose, I'm not going down easily!"

"It's fine, it's about time I did some work anyway.", responded the silent one.

"Alright, what are your names by the way. Never caught them."

The burly man lifted his scythe and placed it on his shoulder, "It's Yuto!"

"Ninn, my name was on the projection. You should've read it."

Kan'na made a face, "Introductions that are spoken personally are better anyway."

Yuto waved away the conversation, "Let's go! It's time to humble some people!"

Tilia, Yuto, and Ninn were teleported to the Arena. Cracking her neck Tilia asked, "Anyone have a plan they want to share?"

Yuto proclaimed, "Leave this Ace to me. I want to see what the greatest they have to offer is."

"If you die quickly I will hold you responsible.", warned Ninn.

"No need to worry!"

Raising her hand Tilia formed the tower shield with her War Sight, "If, at any point, it seems like you won't survive I will hold off the Ace for as long as possible."

"Again, no need to worry. Just defeat the other two so I don't have to worry about it!"

"It's good to have confidence. It is faith in oneself.", spoke Pale.

Pale was donned in a set of heavy armor, a large shield resting at her feet and a mace in her hand. Her armor was azure, with gold designing. Her features were albino, and the air around her radiated a calming sensation. Her eyes flashed with an unknown glow, "And it is good to have faith."

"So these are their fighters? They don't seem like much.", Cain mentioned whilst doing some warmup stretches.

Pale shook her head, "Have faith in oneself, but not to an overbearing degree. To underestimate your opponent is to overestimate yourself."

"You always talk in such roundabout matters, but I understand. I'll be careful.", Cain replied.

"Then, let the match begin!", the West Province's voice spoke over, a sense of haste in his voice.

Boom!

Yuto charged forth, his scythe leaning against his back. His vision zeroed in on Pale, he truly was excited to see what an Ace was capable of!

Bzzt-

A line of green electricity passed by and Yuto stopped in his tracks. Their stood Cain, electricity crackling around his body, "You won't be touching Pale."

"I'd like to see you stop me!"

Swinging his scythe Yuto cleaved through Cain. Electricity fizzled and that made Yuto frown. Cain was crouched by his side, underneath his scythe, "It's quite slow."

"Slow?!"

[Whirling Scythes]!

Four scythe shaped attacks spread out in random directions, spinning quickly. One passed through Cain and electricity again fizzled. Cain stood just out of the scythes' range and commented, "I expected more. The South put up such a show yesterday. But I guess those were your Aces. I didn't think your strength would be so shallow."

"You saw two attacks from me, don't assume you've seen it all."

"At your speed I can do more than just read."

Yuto charged towards Cain, swinging his scythe towards Cain's neck. It passed through easily, and electricity fizzled. Cain was now gently sitting on Yuto's scythe, "See? Why were you even chose as a candidate? You're not bad, but nothing extraordinary."

"Why don't you find out?!"

~ ~ ~

"Truly some troublesome selections.", Horrow murmured.

"What's so special about them?"

"Pale, the Ace is someone many would fight to have on their side. A Paladin of the Sun."

"What's with her blue armor then?", asked Kan'na.

"Although she follows the sun, she also is the selector of a God's Chosen Blessing."

"God's Chosen Blessing. . . that's quite problematic."

"Indeed, which is why I am so concerned."

"What about the others?"

"Cain is someone who specializes in speed. One that can almost compare to that of The Wind Graced. Although his speed isn't that great now that he's Second Stage."

"Seems to be troubling Yuto though."

Aaron adjusted his glasses, "Yuto proved to be interesting through the data. We should have faith in his abilities."

~ ~ ~

Swish~

Cain narrowed his eyes and moved, electricity fizzling. A dagger passed through his previous location, hovering in the air. It slowed before flying backwards, returning to the person who threw it.

It circled around Ninn, gently swaying. Making the dagger spin she spoke, "Weren't you challenging the Ace? Stop wasting time."

"You think I'm intentionally fighting this guy?!", Yuto snapped.

"I'll handle it, so go take down the Ace."

Cain curled his lips, "You're talking like I'm not here. No one will be challenging Pale, not as long as I stand in the way."

P-Twing~

Cain vanished, a knife hovering directly where his heart just was. It spun before zooming to Ninn's side, hovering next to the previous one. Ninn lifted a hand, revealing an additional three daggers. Tossing them to the air she made them hover with the rest, "Like I said, I'll handle this."

Yuto grinned, "It seems like you're quite capable! I owe you one for this!"

Ninn flicked her wrist and sent a dagger forward. It nearly scraped Yuto's neck as it moved. Cain, who just appeared in front of Yuto to send a kick, rapidly retreated. Halting his attempts to stop Yuto he spent some time to reexamine Ninn. She had thrown the dagger before he moved, almost like she predicted his next move.

"It seems like you have your own tricks.", Cain commented.

"Don't we all."

Bzzt-

Cain dashed side to side, electricity shooting from his body and arcing towards the ground. His speed left only the sight of these arcs, making it look like a wave of electricity was moving forward.

Ninn swung her hand and the five daggers were tossed forth. Cain watched each of the daggers carefully, in attempt to understand how his previous move was read. As he moved to the side he noticed them arcing slightly, moving towards the position he was heading towards.

'It was actually so simple.'

Cain jumped upwards, the arcs of electricity growing larger as he left the ground. Watching the daggers arc upwards he grinned, "I've figured you out!"

Ninn didn't blink, but it almost seemed like she did. Cain was visible for a fraction of a second before vanishing. Cain appeared behind her and threw his fist forward.

Blood splattered across the floor and Cain grit his teeth. A wound appeared across his arm, and a dagger materialized at the farthest end of it. Ninn casually looked back, "You didn't think I only had five daggers did you?"
