Jarvis kneeled next to the ruined ruins. After inspecting the rubble he stood up and said aloud, "So you weren't inside during the collapse."
A figure showed themselves from behind a tree, "Congrats, you figured out that much."
Jarvis looked at them, "So, are they aware of your actual ability?"
"No, I'd rather keep that a secret."
"Why? Seems pointless."
"They're my friends after all. I can't be overshadowing them."
"So you plan on giving up here?"
"Naturally, I should have died with them."
Jarvis shook his head, "Ridiculous. Fine, go on then."
They frowned, "Ridiculous?"
"Hiding your true skill is a ridiculous, pointless, and selfish thing to do. Overshadow them? So be it, be that wall they wish to overcome. Ignite their fighting spirit."
The enemy player sighed, "I despise people like you. People who take this game too seriously."
"Taking the game seriously? Nonsense, you all would have died seconds after you spawned if I took it seriously."
"Arrogant much?"
"Confidence. Especially since the majority of your team is dead from a half-baked plan I made."
"Learn to have some fun would you? It wouldn't kill you."
"I was, this whole competition is just a game to us."
"Allow me to change that outlook."
"Go already, there's no shame in running from a battle you cannot win. Especially if there is no consequence for your loss."
"Who said I cannot win?"
"You. Else your team wouldn't remain 'blissfully unaware' of your true abilities."
"Why are you so serious?"
"Do you plan on talking idly? Your team will become suspicious if you don't leave quickly.", Jarvis was starting to get annoyed at the idle chatter.
"I can make an excuse, answer my question."
"Because idiots like you who are complacent with their current level always have to learn the hard way."
"Now who's the ridiculous one? Why bother improving?"
"Keep that in mind, when the day comes that you have something you want to protect and you lack the strength to do so. Remember those words. Now go before I send you off."
"Argh, it's so annoying dealing with players like you. I've decided I'm going to kill you before I quit. After all, you're little trick won't work here. That little snake can't work here."
"Naturally, why else would I lead you to the ruins?"
"Oh, so you were aware?"
"I think you take me as a fool."
Seeth was unable to properly collapse the ground due to their surroundings being a forest. The roots of the trees provided exceptional support to the ground.
The enemy player snapped their fingers, "Those cute little fellas are dangerous, I best kill them off."
A fire pillar erupted in the distance. Jarvis' heart nearly stopped! From his bond he could tell that the Man-Eaters were seriously injured!
He quickly told them to retreat to Yielya, she would be able to heal them.
The player raised an eyebrow, "You are able to tell? Interesting. Do you think I can't do it again though?"
The player suddenly hesitated, an extreme amount of bloodlust assaulting their senses. Jarvis warned them carefully, "Don't you dare."
The player confidently spoke, "Oh? It seems like you can't just go and resummon them like a typical Summoner. So if they die it's permanent huh? Hmm, I wonder how mad you'll be!"

The party looked into the distance, they were able to sense Jarvis' wrath. Akiol frowned, "Did they really threaten his tames?"
Tilia shook her head in amazement, "They're dead for sure."
Akiol turned his head and saw five burnt creatures stumbling towards them. He narrowed his eyes at the site of them, "Oh they did more than threaten eh? Yielya if you would please."
Yielya healed them with a gentle light, they're scorched fur returning to normal at a visible rate. She then scratched the head of one, "Ah you poor things. Maybe we shouldn't let Jarvis take part in these battles?"
Akiol pondered that, Jarvis' tames had only a single life, excluding the rare exception. So naturally these pointless fights could potentially kill one of his precious tames.
However he was also aware of Jarvis strong want to assist in battle. After all he wouldn't have gone through the effort to tame the Sages otherwise.
This left him with a dilemma. So he decided to push it aside for now, he would consult Jarvis afterwards.
Akiol lay on the ground and murmured, "I hope he doesn't go overboard."

The player harrumphed, "Hmph, they managed to retreat fast enough. A six on one battle is unfavorable, so I'll let them live."
Jarvis whisperer, "Loni."
The tattoo on his neck glowed and out popped a small fairy. She held out her hands in front of her, "I heard it all!"
The enemy player's focus turned to the fairy, "My my, full of surprises are we? Still I doubt a fairy could do much with your current strength."
Jarvis looked at the player with a deadly calm, "That eye of yours, something special isn't it?."
"Oh? Do tell."
"Allows you to see more than the average player. You're able to see my stats aren't you?"
"Not a bad deduction, not bad at all."
Jarvis stepped forward, "That's the source of your confidence? Knowing my stats?"
"So what if it is? Your pitiful stats are below average, naturally I'm aware of your weakness."
It was true, due to Jarvis' unique circumstances his stats were incredibly low. The average player would have around 300-350 in each stat, save for whatever they specialize in. However Jarvis. . . his average was a mere 200!
Why? Because all of his 'strength' he obtained was through more powerful tames along with stronger bonds. Moreover the Instrument Of Life did, in fact, not increase his stats directly, but rather his ability to communicate with his tames and the Book of Life.
This did not mean he was weak! The enemy player made a crucial mistake: assuming that stats equaled power.
Jarvis intended to show this clearly!
A pink magic formed in front of Loni's hands. The enemy player suddenly held a hand to their face, "A-Ah? What is this?"
Fairies specialized in a unique magic meant to apply specific debuffs on their enemies. These debuffs did not affect stats, but rather the physical body.
Loni had reduced the enemy player's vision. Due to her lack of power she wasn't able to completely blind them, but this was enough!
The Book of Life's pages fluttered. Jarvis held a hand over it, "Allow me to show you a power you cannot overcome."
Colors flew from the page, forming into a massive alligator. Suddenly the nearby temperature began to rise.
'Hmm? Just one opponent?'
"Yeah, I'll leave him to you."
Guarton was taken aback by the cold tone, it was much different from the warm one he was used to. He did not argue, instead the earth rumbled and the enemy player was suddenly entrapped in an earthen dome.
The player's vision restored, but there was no light so they believed they turned blind. They shouted, "Restore my sight immediately!"
A light formed underneath them, catching them unaware. They inspected before suddenly retreating. The light expanded and erupted into a burst of molten rock.
They grit their teeth, "So this is how it'll be!"
They swung their hand and a large amount of ice erupted, covering the molten rock.
Guarton's snout twitched, 'Are they an idiot?'
The ice cracked before shattering, the dome quickly filled with the molten rock. It eventually encompassed the enemy player, quickly turning them into light.
Jarvis watched as the dome of earth turned slightly red from the heat. After a few seconds he nodded, "Good, now they know how it feels."
All signs of the previous bloodlust disappeared. The casual and carefree feel returned to him, as if he was never angry to begin with.
He smiled, "Excellent work Guarton, as expected from a Sage."
Guarton was not immune to the praise, 'Of course, this much was easy!'
Jarvis closed the Book of Life, "Fantastic work everyone! I'll be sure to get the good snacks for our next outing."
Loni rubbed her nose, "Hehe, it was nothing~"
Bo and To cawed a response before landing on Jarvis' shoulders. Seeth arose from the ground and saluted with the tip of his tail, his tongue flickering.
Jarvis smiled, "Let's go check up on the quintuplets."

Travis' eyes slowly opened, he felt groggy. As his body slowly awoke he asked aloud, "What happened?"
His eyes slowly adjusted to the low light of his surroundings. He examined his circumstances and realized he had no clue where he was.
He tried moving, but his limbs were cuffed to a wall. He suddenly realized, 'I was drugged, these chains wouldn't have lasted otherwise.'
He heard whistling in the distance. A door creaked open, its joints obviously not greased properly. The whistling grew louder and footsteps could be heard.
Suddenly a gruesome man entered Travis' vision. The man rubbed his hands together and smiled, his teeth stained yellow and partially rotten.
"You're awake! My. Test. Subject~!"
