The next day. . .
"I am tired of doing dungeons, let's take a break." Yielya complained.
"You have the easiest job!" Jarvis pointed out.
Yielya gave a thumbs up, "Bingo, it's so boring watching you guys fight. I'm just the nurse."
"Then what do you propose?" Akiol asked.
As if waiting for this question, Yielya sent a post in the group chat.
-Random Wandering Bosses?-
As I was wandering around the Plains of Plague I noticed a shadow darting around the place. Originally I had thought it was the player called Dot, but when I caught a good luck at it I was horrified.
It was a shadow like creature with faces and limbs sticking out at unnatural places. When it noticed me it charged at me so fast I nearly had a heart attack! Within one hit my health dropped to critical! I was hit with so many status debuffs I couldn't read them all before I died.
Is it normal for there to be such strong creatures wander without any signs? Could it be a boss? Someone avenge my death!
Here is a picture I managed to take while panicking.

-End-
Akiol read the post with interest. Random bosses seem plausible, after he himself had come across a mini boss on a whim.
"So we are hunting this thing?" Wrock asked.
"This is my proposal, we take a break and go on a hunt." Yielya spread her arms in a grand gesture.
"Well I guess it couldn't hurt to check, let me check on something first though." Akiol agreed somewhat reluctantly, he would much rather get stronger. Yet a break was needed.
"What is it?" Kan'na asked.
"Some guild owes me a sword. I want to see if it came in the mail yet." Akiol answered.
Kan'na was intrigued, "What guild?"
Akiol frowned, he didn't know actually, "I don't know their name, all I know is that a guild named Thirteen Moons didn't want to mess with them."
"Thirteen Moons? That's a top 50 guild, and you said they didn't want to mess with the other guild?" Kan'na pondered for a moment, "Thirteen Moons is ranked number 26 on the guild list. The guilds from 20 to 30 are around the same in strength. If they didn't want to mess with the other guild that means they would definitely be above 15. The question is, how did you get a guild that strong to owe you a sword?"
"Didn't I tell you the story?" Akiol pointed to the artifact slightly behind him, he had told them about the artifact earlier that day. Kan'na was especially jealous of the item.
"That was the guild? You picked with some top guilds? I thought it was a random one!" Kan'na was shocked, after the incident of Pierced Moon she had kept in touch with the power levels of guilds. Her alt account on the forums was especially popular for her deductions.
"It was a contracted duel, what are they going to do? Beat me up?" Akiol defended.
"That depends on their ranking. . ." Kan'na mumbled.
Wrock remained silent throughout the conversation. After he heard that Akiol broke through into the realm of {Hyperfocused Battle Intensity} he had entered a state of reflection.
Before he could easily stand toe to toe with Akiol, now he wasn't so sure. He too was on the verge of reaching the state, he could feel it. All he needed was that one battle that really pushed his limits.
Akiol walked into the postal office. Checking his inbox there was two things. First a sword, this was expected. Second was a letter.
Akiol took the two items and walked back to the party. Finding an outside table to a popular restaurant. Food in A World's Legacy was immensely popular. It tasted just like the real thing, if not better. Eating a meal could increase one's fatigue recover rate. It was rumored that a good meal made by a high level chef could provide more, but there wasn't any proof of that.
Everyone sat down and ordered something, except Akiol for he had no taste or digestive system. It would simply be absorbed.
Akiol placed the sword on the table, it was in its sheath and sat there. The guard was highly detailed and colored silver. The handle was made of a white leather, its origins were unknown. The pommel was similar to the guard.
Akiol picked it up and drew it from the sheath. What greeted them was a snow white blade. It reflected the sun and gleamed.
The light reflected into Akiol's eyes and he complained, "Why is it so bright? I asked for a sword not for a mirror!"
He moved the sword and looked at its stats.
[Everbright Snow]
Forged from a mysterious reflective metal in the coldest winter the sword reflected the properties of its surroundings. Harnessing the power of cold and reflectiveness. It is said that any opponent facing against this sword will get chills down their spine.
Attack:
250
Requirements:
All stats = 100
When Equipped Receive:
+20 to all stats
Extra Skills:
{Reflective Metal: Reflect any type of attack back at the opponent. Effective against most attacks.}
{Ice Cold Blade: All attacks add one stack of 'Slow' to opponent. Each stack slows by 2%. (Up to 5 stacks).
{Chilling Aura: Unleash a wave of bone-chilling air. Any opponent hit will be effected by the 'Fear' debuff. Stunning for 2 seconds. Does not affect those with superior stats.}
Akiol shared the description of the sword with the party. There was a moment of silence as everyone read the description.
Tilia was impressed with the sword, "That's quite the sword you got. It's damage surpasses the Berserker weapons from the blacksmith. I'm sure the guild that sent you this would be quite upset to lose it."
Tilia spent time to learn the value of equipment. As a Defender she had to know a good shield upon simply inspecting its stats. She had learned quite a bit on the subject and could be considered a low tier expert.
Akiol was very pleased with the weapon, his near broken old sword could now be replaced. As he equipped the sword a voice popped up in his head.
'Sigh. . .'
Akiol also sighed, at least in his heart, "Stars." He called.
'. . .Yes?'
"How much stronger until I am worthy?"
'More than twice but not thrice times stronger. Then you could wield me without any side effects.'
Akiol nodded, he would still need a lot of time before then.
Next he opened the letter and read it. The message contained an invitation:
An invitation to the one named 'Akiol',
As our contract stated, you received your sword. As I witnessed the duel between you and Unyielding Blossom I had, of course, realized how skilled you were. Thus I send this invitation to you.
There shall be a competition taking place between the top ten guilds, hidden from the public eye. This is to stimulate the potential of our promising talents. One guild is allowed to bring a stranger or two to take place, as long as they sign an NDA.
It is our turn, and I hope to invite you. You are allowed one additional friend, hopefully just as skilled, to join you. There will be high quality rewards for victorious battles, gaining equipment like that sword wouldn't be hard.
The competition is hosted a week from now, I do hope to see you there.
-Vice Leader of Jumpstart Pavilion, Reverence.
Akiol raised an eyebrow at the letter, if he remembered correctly Reverence wasn't too pleased with his victory. So what was with the invitation?
"What's that all about?" Jarvis asked.
"Well I found out a few things. First of all the guild who owed me the sword is called Jumpstart Pavilion. This is a letter from their vice leader Reverence inviting me to a competition." Akiol answered.
Kan'na was startled, "Jumpstart Pavilion?! They are ranked number three! You picked a fight with one of the top three guilds?!"
"I told you the story. . . anyway I can invite someone, Wrock you wanna come?"
"Of course!" Wrock replied enthusiastically.
Fighting against skilled opponents will be very beneficial to him. So he definitely would not miss out on such an opportunity.
"Great, it takes place next week. I'll send a letter saying I accept. Once you all finish your food we got a wandering boss to hunt."
The food was gobbled down and everyone prepared for the expedition, within half an hour they arrived at the border of Plains of Plague.
It was a desolate place, dead grass covered the plains in spots. The ground stained a dark grey.
"The guy who made that post has some serious issues if he decided to wander here." Yielya commented.
There was a silent agreement from everyone, it felt ominous and sickly.
"Time to pick a direction, something tells me spreading out hasn't worked for things like this." Akiol said.
Jarvis pointed into a random direction, "I say that way."
Everyone began walking, the chances of coming across the boss were slim. Yet the party didn't care.
After all this was just a break from grinding.
