Flinnder began to walk towards the large metal door.
Travis couldn't help but ask, "What usually is in a Duke's stash?"
"I wouldn't know, however if I were to guess. . . Most likely a large amount of funds and equipment to equip a squad of two hundred. Stashes are usually intended for Dukes to use in times of war and need."
Flinnder opened the large steel door, it wasn't locked. Yet it was extremely heavy and thick. Since Flinnder was a Royal the door wasn't that hard to open. If Travis had to open it, he would most likely have to use his Berserk skill.
What was behind the door was revealed. A large pile of silver triangles and various shiny objects. The pile reached over ten meters in height. The Abyss' currency was different from the normal world's gold coins. It was instead silver triangles with a circular hole in the middle. This particular currency was called Vu. It stood for Vuronicous Uther, the first ever Duke of the Abyss.
Flinnder was mildly surprised, "It looks like we are quite lucky, this seems to be a personal stash. There is quite a bit of treasure in here."
Travis didn't comment on that, he believed that his luck had no play in this.
With a motion of his arm Flinnder opened a portal underneath the large pile. Travis watched as it sunk into the portal, like sand in an hourglass.
Once every Vu was gone Flinnder closed the portal, "There should be some treasures he worth far more than all that. Come, let us see what awaits."
Travis followed as Flinnder continued forward. After all behind the massive pile of money, there was an ordinary door.
As they walked across the large room Travis asked, "How much do you think was in that pile?"
"Rough calculations, an ordinary Duke's stash would carry around five million to twenty million in funds, depending on its purpose. Considering this is a personal stash. . . the minimum should be over twenty million."
"So this is a great find?"
"Definitely, these funds shall assist me in my projects for a long while. It's essentially extra money."
"How do you go about obtaining money ordinarily?"
"The same way the outside does, through taxes. However I do run a few businesses, after all the taxes aren't enough for my projects. Now enough questions, it is time to see the real stash."
They reached the door and Flinnder opened it. Inside was extravagant, not only was it significantly more decorated than any other part of the stash, but hundreds of objects stood in display cases. Most were merely decorative, perhaps they were rare and expensive. Yet Travis only saw the equipment worthwhile.
Flinnder nodded in satisfaction, "This is good, go along and look. I shall carefully extract some pieces I personally desire."
Travis was like a child in a candy shop, he looked at all the equipment in awe. It was a shame he couldn't see the stats of them. He still enjoyed looking around at the stuff though.
A box drew his attention, it was beautifully carved. It held a dark red hue, which was rare in the Abyss. Travis carefully opened the box and was surprised at what was within. A floating golden rune, he had only seen such colors from skills. Yet this item radiated it.
Travis reached to touch it. The moment his hand moved the rune flashed. It's speed was something Travis couldn't react to. In time so short that it could not be explained into words, the rune slammed into his eye!
He was immediately bombarded with system notifications. But his eye was in excruciating pain so he didn't pay attention.
<User has found: ???>
<??? Holds perfect compatibility with Eyes of Marking>
<Due to the special skill of ???, forceful merging is commenced>
<Logging out will result in a permanent loss of ???>
<Merging 30% Complete...>
Travis held his eye in a futile attempt to alleviate some of the pain. It was so great he began to step back.
Flinnder noticed these strange actions and walked over. It took only a glance for him to understand. He immediately grabbed the box and examined it, however it was an ordinary sealing box.
This was partially his fault, he hadn't thoroughly checked the items here. If something terrible happened to his Champion. . .
A golden light pierced through the gaps between Travis' fingers. He dropped to his knees and began to make sounds of pain. His painful groans brought worry to Flinnder, but he dared not interrupt.
Travis slammed his head onto the ground. He clenched his fists and jaw. The pain was so bad he almost decided to log out then and there, however he saw the warning that this opportunity may be lost forever. So he fought against the urge, he endured the pain.
A minute passed, though it felt like an eternity to Travis. Every second the urge to log out grew stronger, a quick end to the pain. Just as he thought he wouldn't be able to last a second longer, the pain stopped suddenly.
A notification appeared.
<Eyes of Marking have evolved into The Eyes of Trinity>
Travis began to laugh, he laughed for the pain was now over. But more importantly he laughed at the status of The Eyes of Trinity.
[The Eyes of Trinity]
The eyes forged from eyes which mark all, and the Sigil of Heavenly Existence. Powering its wielder with three truths. Those who wield these eyes are given a seat to beyond.

{Truth Threefold: Existence - ??? (Locked)}
{Truth Threefold: Neutral - ??? (Locked)}
{Curse of Truth: User is permanently bound with this Artifact. Unable to be dropped, traded, removed, or destroyed.}
At first Travis was confused. The three truths were vague in their description. However the small question mark in the description was a shortcut to a more technical explanation.
[Truth: Revealing] was incredibly powerful! He could see past illusions and skills intended to disguise objects. Things such as a theif's [Stealth] meant nothing in front of him! Additionally, equipment descriptions were no longer a problem! Since it counted as 'hiding' from him. It was revealed. The twofold was self explanatory, but triple damage was not to be underestimated. Especially not with his strength!
[Truth: Existence] was even more so! He was immune to any AOE and ranged status debuff skills and effects. However it did not apply for things directly applied through physical contact. This meant if something caused a large slow AOE, he would remain unaffected! The twofold version was a teleport to anywhere in his vision!
[Truth: Neutral] was the most confusing. His attacks carry the 'neutral' effect. From what he understood this meant his attacks could not be forcefuly canceled by outside means, but this didn't seem to be truly 'neutral'. The twofold version was even more so, since he could apply it to an object or enemy attack. He would need to test this thoroughly later.
Flinnder asked, "What is it you find humorous?"
Travis took a deep breath, "Most likely the slight psychological damage I took from that. However the benefits I received are well worth the pain."
"Oh?"
Travis stood up, his eyes remained their usual color. However upon close inspection a faint golden run was inscribed on them.
He pointed to a rack of various accessories, "The third ring from the left will interest you the most. I ask that you inspect it personally first."
Flinnder's interest was peaked, manipulating an energy he made the ring float over to him. He inspected it but failed to see anything special, "It's an ordinary ring."
Travis shook his head, "Far from it. This is the Duke's personal ring, the key to his inheritance."
Flinnder's eyes widened, "How do I know your saying the truth?"
"The special case at the end of this room, you cannot open it without the ring. It holds Defense far beyond what I thought it would."
Flinnder moved over to the case and attempted to pry open it. No matter how much strength he used it failed to budge. Yet the moment the ring touched the box a faint click sounded. The box then opened with ease.
Inside was a parchment which Flinnder took and read, "How interesting. . . this new ability of yours is useful. Tell me, is there a name for it?"
"The Eyes of Trinity."
Flinnder nearly dropped the paper, "What?!"
