Kapitel 151: Crossing the Gioll River

Several hours after passing through the Gates of Norden, they came upon another famous landmark of the north.

Gioll River and the Gjallarbru Bridge one must cross to safely traverse the kilometer-wide river. 

Looking at the bridge that could have two carriages side by side with plenty of space left over, it was truly an engineering feat, especially considering how old the bridge was. Practically ancient.

But, thinking about it, Mattheus also considered that most of the famous landmarks of Norden tend to have been created centuries ago, which did not say good things about innovation in the north post-calamity.

One of the common sayings regarding the north was how tough it was to survive in the region.

Illarion Snowe was not incompetent. He was rather intelligent for being such a militant man, a sense of patience and delicacy those of his type tended to lack.

Was it truly that difficult to live in the north?
