"Should I head out again?" Mattheus felt alright speaking out loud in the privacy of his lab-workshop as he communicated with Artemius through the messaging system.

There was a bit of feedback as Artemius replied, the downside of the physical communicators being that the holders were restricted to leaving voice recordings.

"No, don't. That cockerel had decided to strut around. Like I said, his aide has wanted to interview you. If it were actually for closing the case rather than finding a scapegoat, I wouldn't mind having you appear but…"

It made sense when one considered it. Mattheus was pretty sure Vincent, Liam, and Melissa were able to convert from speech-to-text or thought-to-text because their status as Confidants meant a more intimate connection with the System.
